Duncan Phyfe style. Double-pedestal, brass claw-footed, dining table with 2 self-storing leaves and 6 upholstered chairs. This set was most likely from the 1940's to 1950's. It was re-upholstered in the 1990's. A marking on the leaves indicates the wood is maple. There is some Tiger Oak on one of the chairs. The table is heavy and sturdy due to the self-storage mechanism for the leaves. It easily seats 4-6 without the leaves. And 6-8 with the leaves. One chair is a captain style with arms and the other 5 are armless. Upholstered in a floral. Leafy pattern in muted colors of green, blue, mauve. Beautiful Duncan Phyfe dining set that has been in my family for years. The triple pedestal table is rare- they are usually single or double pedestal. The table has four leaves and extends to 86" long. It is 40" wide and has lovely notched. Decorative corners(see photos) There are two armchairs and four side chairs, all uphostered in a sage/ivory silk. The set is in very nice condition and will be an elegant addition to your traditional decor. Three pedestal mahogany dining room table with Duncan Phyfe style pedestal base: saber legs terminate in brass animal paw feet. All of the sections are joined by brass locks. It consists of two D ends. A rectangular center and two leaves. The dimensions of each section are: D ends- 30" long x 41 7/8" wide; 30 1/4" long x 41 7/8" wide. Center- 30 3/8" long x 41 7/8" wide. Leaves- 20 1/8" long x 41 7/8" wide; 20 1/2" long x 41 7/8" wide. Length of table with 3 pedestal sections and 2 leaves is 131 1/4" Length of table with 3 pedestal sections only is 90 5/8" This table was refinished 15 to 20 years ago. Custom pad for each section is included. Fifteen Victorian side chairs consisting of 3 different styles are included. Set of 6 are rosewood; another set of 6 are walnut. I don't know the maker of the table, but the chairs and table are all"golden oak" stain and from the same time period of early 1900's. These chairs are all matching. But some had different seats installed, however, ... morethey are all restored to cane, which was the original style. Expect some variation in the stain, as the oak have lots of character in the grain. The chairs were made by the Larkin(Soap) Co. of Buffalo, NY(1875-1941) Furniture production began between 1901 and 1909. You might want to do a search on this fascinating historical business. Antique Seng Dining Set This is a gorgeous dining table with 8 chairs. We believe these pieces are composed of walnut. With a dark stain finish. The table is round and sits on a massive pedestal with griffin style or large paw feet. The center pedestal is comprised of 6 ornately carved columns. The 6 columns separate at the center when the table is expanded for adding leaves. Each table half sits on 3 casters, making it easier to separate. When divided, an additional supportive center post is revealed. This post rests on a caster as well. Two sash locks have been installed to hold the two table halves together when leaves are not in use. The table measures 29 1/2" in height. The table top is 60" in diameter. With the 4 leaves in place. The table measures 107 1/2" in length. There is 1 additional 12" leaf, which has not ... morebeen refinished. There are a total of 8 chairs. 1 captains chair and 7 regular chairs. The front legs of the chairs have paw feet. The captains chair measures 40 1/2" tall and 22" wide. The other chairs are 37 1/2" tall and 19 1/8" wide. This table does not have a manufactures mark. Only chalk marks. The chairs all have a partial label which we believe to be from the Seng Company in Chicago. This set is in great condition overall with some general signs of age or use. The table top and the 4 of the 5 leaves all appear to have been beautifully refinished. The rest of the finish on the table. As well as on the chairs, appears to be original. The table apron was in poor condition, but has been re-glued and re-nailed. It has been given new life, and looks fantastic. There is one small portion on the bottom, interior edge of the apron where the vener is missing, a flaw which we have shown in the pictures. There is routine wear to the chair arms and backs, and the finish in these places is now uneven. The seats were recovered at some point, but there is some general staining on the fabric.
