Antique Quartersawn Oak Claw Foot Table
Item: Up for auction is this professionally restored Claw Foot Parlor Table. The table is constructed of solid quartersawn oak. The table top measures 28 x 28 and it stand 30 inches tall. The glass balls in the metal talons are right at 3 inches in diameter. The table has been structurally reinforced under the top an bottom shelf to prevent any separation in the future. There are some chips in the glass balls. But fortunately most are on the underside or back and do not show when the table is in use. The only exception is shown in photo#9. This is a very well constructed, high quality table. I've tried to capture the details of its construction in the photos. The contrast in color on the top is not as dramatic as the photos would indicate. The only other imperfection is a tiny chip on the edge of the lower shelf. The terms restored and ... morerefinished are not meant to convey perfection. While the restoration process removes or minimizes imperfections, subtle signs of its age and use remain. Overall, this table is in excellent condition and should provide many years of use and beauty. Pricing: I do not use reserve pricing. I will establish what I think is a fair starting price for each item. That way potential buyers can make a choice to pursue the item or not. The color is a darker rich brown with reddish undertones. Description Vintage French Dining Table with 6 chairs We are so excited to be able to offer you a few exquisite pieces from a local estate. The consignee is moving and felt they could part with just a few things and that makes this your lucky day! This lovely French dining table and 6 chairs was made especially for her grandfather when they lived in France in the 20's and 30's. It appears to be a lovely oak. The pieces are in very good condition. There are a few spots where the finish has been compromised however some TLC would quickly repair most of those. Besides. I think those things add character! Three of the chairs have the original cane seats and three of them have replacement wooden seats but the holes for the caning are still intact. The table is 73" long with the leaf(which is 30" long) 52" wide and 27 1/2" ... morehigh. The chairs are each 38" high at the back and 17" high at the seat. The seats ore 14" in the back and 17" along the front edge. As you can see by the photos. There has been some repair to the underside of the table to make it sturdier. 1930s Hoosier Table with"The Watertown Slide" extention This beautiful old. Unique, antique table is absolutely gorgeous and only has a few flaws as anything this old would. The legs need some work and although the top has been refinished, it shows some spots that are imperfect. This table belonged to my husband's Grandparents. His Mother used to eat dinner on this table every night when she was growing up in the 30s and 40s(she is in her mid-seventies now) The bottom has a plate that says 1932. It's mechanism allowed it to be stored with the table when a leaf(or extention) was not needed. It was called"The Watertown Slide. You simply pull the table apart, push up the leaf and gently push it back together again. There arent very many of these tables around anymore. This Berkey& Gay dining set consists of a 3-leaf table. 8 chairs, 1 china hutch, 1 buffet and 1 sideboard. It is made of walnut, with many sections being bookmatched figured walnut- absolutely beautiful. All pieces are matching, and feature the metal medallion used in Berkey& Gay's furniture from the 1920's-1940's. Our best guess is that these pieces were made in the 20's. They're in excellent condition for this vintage. You'll see some very slight damage, shown in the last 4 photos. The brass label was used starting around the 1920's until Berkey and Gay went out of business in the 1940's. The set was manufactured by Mutilplex Modern MFG. by Winchendon of Winchendon, Mass. Designed by Martin Feinman. Circa. 1947. The set consist of a table with 2 leaves and furniture pads. 3 matching Side Chairs. Buffet and China. This is a most unique matching set that is all original and in good condition and designed by the renown Designer. Martin Feinman. The Buffet is 4 pieces that have been mounted as one and has large original castors. The top middle drawer has some finish problems on one of the sides. The beautiful rich mahogany wood showing compliment the two tone affect. The original and most interesting spider handles are chrome or nickel plated and appear to be in very good condition. The secondary ... morewood is maple. The measurements of the Buffet is 60" long. 33" tall on the sides and 19" deep. The separate attached single drawer measures 9" by 24" The matching China Cabinet had two glass tops cut to fit. All original as well including spider hardware and large castors. The inside of the China show a dark painted green inside the glass doors. Not sure if the green is original or not. The 4 original sliding glass doors are in great condition and in working order showing a finger grooved handle for easy sliding. The China consists of 5 attached pieces. 3 on the bottom and 2 on top. Measurements of the China are 72" long by 33" tall(base measurements) 19" deep as well. Top cabinet measures 28 1/2" tall by 12" deep. Overall height is 61 1/2" tall. The Table is structurally very good with some finish problems on top as well. Small blemish areas. The base is complete with some areas that need to be touched up or stained. I can't find much information on the style or age, so maybe someone in Ebay Land can enlighten me. This group is oak and has a beautiful patina finish due to the age and wear. It is in very good condition and has been in the same family for years. The chair seats have the original upholstry tacks and most likely the original fabric. They are also in very good condition with some minor wear. There is a host chair and 5 side chairs. All have high carved backs and the host chair has upholstery on the back as well as the seat.
