We had planned on recovering them before we decided not to keep them. The chairs have"L" brackets added to the underside of each chair to give the seat portion more support. The wooden dowels that cover the screw holes on the sides of the chairs were glued in. When I took these chairs apart to get them ready for shipping, I cleaned the glue off of everything and added a double sided tape to hold the dowels in place when they are re-assembled. The Buffet is 4 pieces that have been mounted as one and has large original castors. The top middle drawer has some finish problems on one of the sides. The beautiful rich mahogany wood showing compliment the two tone affect. The original and most interesting spider handles are chrome or nickel plated and appear to be in very good condition. The secondary ... morewood is maple. The measurements of the Buffet is 60" long. 33" tall on the sides and 19" deep. The separate attached single drawer measures 9" by 24" The matching China Cabinet had two glass tops cut to fit. All original as well including spider hardware and large castors. The inside of the China show a dark painted green inside the glass doors. Not sure if the green is original or not. The 4 original sliding glass doors are in great condition and in working order showing a finger grooved handle for easy sliding. The China consists of 5 attached pieces. 3 on the bottom and 2 on top. Measurements of the China are 72" long by 33" tall(base measurements) 19" deep as well. Top cabinet measures 28 1/2" tall by 12" deep. Overall height is 61 1/2" tall. The Table is structurally very good with some finish problems on top as well. Small blemish areas. The base is complete with some areas that need to be touched up or stained. Up for consideration is an original vintage CONANT BALL FORMAL DINING ROOM set circa 1940s or 1950s. Near mint condition. Set includes a gate leg table with three(3) leaves; four(4) side chairs and two(2) Captain's chairs. All wood is in the original blond finish, untouched. This particular design for Conant Ball is attributed to Russel Wright, who designed for Conant Ball in the late 30s and early 1940s. This set was produced in the late 1940s or 1950s. Each piece is marked with the Conant Ball trademark, but there is no markings indicating that it is for certain a Russel Wright design. The original blond finish is in spectacular condition and we cannot find any flaws, whatsoever, to report. Either this set received no use at all, or someone really took care when dining. Let's start with the gate leg table(5 legs) Included are three(3) ... moreleaves. Each leaf is numbered and each has hardware latches to make a tight and sturdy fit when in place. Each leaf measures 13" inches wide. So, the table can expand from 62" inches(5' feet, 2" inches) long, all the way up to 102" inches(8' feet, 6" inches) long, depending on how many leaves are used. The table measures 40" inches wide. The chairs consist of four(4) side chairs and two(2) Captain's chairs(arm chairs) They feature a classic, mid-century design and are very sturdy in all cases. Someone made tan cushions for each chair. The cushions are not Conant Ball originals, but are included with the set at no extra charge(three cushions need a bit of stitching at the seams and all could use a cleaning) There are no returns on this heavy piece of furniture. Please ask all questions before purchasing this set. This is as you can imagine quite heavy to ship, and quite expensive to ship. This is a beautiful dining room set made by Rway Furniture in Sheboygan. Wisconsin. It is mid-century modern, made sometime after 1949. The set includes a table which measures 42" x 62" plus two 18" self-storing leaves. There are six chairs, including 2 with arms. The set also includes a buffet or sideboard which measures 60" x 21" x 35.5" tall) and a china hutch or cabinet which measures 44" x 71.5" tall) x 18" deep) All the pieces are in excellent condition except one small scratch on the left side of the left hand door of the buffet and a small chip on the left hand corner of the china cabinet.
