This set is Duncan Phyfe style and has all the great characteristics of that style. This set contains 1 armchair and 5 side chairs. The chairs have traditional pierced pointed arch splats and ribbed crest rails. Stiles and lower rails. The front legs are straight with spade feet. The seat cushions have been freshly upholstered in a lovely sage green fabric. The ... moretable has a double pedestal with ribbed feet and brass caps. There is one leaf with this table. The tabletop finish is worn in places and the finish has faded to a lighter shade than the leaf. The table and chairs are very solid and sturdy and the overall condition is very good. I do not know the maker or exact date this set was made. This set is antique and will not be perfect. The table measures 30 3/8 inches tall, 40 inches side to side and 60 ¼ inches front to back without the leaf and 72 ¼ inches front to back with the leaf. It weighs 93 pounds. The leaf measures 7/8 inches thick, 40 inches side to side and 12 ¼ inches front to back. It weighs 8 pounds. The armchair measures 35 ¼ inches tall, 23 3/16 inches side to side and 23 ¼ inches front to back. It weighs 13 pounds. Double pedestal table with leaf. 6 chairs. 2 arm(not pictured) and 4 regular dining chairs as pictured. China Cabinent is in stellar condition. Hutch is large and deep and. A few scratches on one side and one on one of the drawers has a gouged area. Table and chairs are not as sturdy as the other 2 pieces but dont need work for usage now. I have had and used for 20 yrs. Apartment livin now and no room. As you see. The hutch can be used as a tv stand or dresser. Is deep. All nicely finished. A few dog scratches in the dining hairs. VINTAGE 7 PC DUNCAN PHYFE DINING SET PLUS CORNER CHINA CABINET
This auction is for a 7 pc. Duncan Phyfe drop leaf dining set plus a corner china cabinet. Both the dining set and the corner cabinet are made of mahogany. The dining set includes the table. 6 chairs and 2 9" leaves. The dining set and corner cabinet were both purchased in 1948 and have had only one owner. The table is 57" L x 40" W x 29.5"H. The claw feet have brass covers on them. The chairs are 32"H x 15" W and the cushions are done in soft pastels. They were recovered in 2005. The corner china cabinet top with glass doors is 36"W with 3 wood shelves that are 15.25" D. The bottom portion is 38" W x 15.5" D. Duncan Phyfe Dining Room Furniture Set-Lustrous Finish
Duncan Phyfe styling with the not so often seen plume and drape design on the chair backs. Nicely turned double base with brass claw foot ends. Set includes the table and 6 chairs. Which is the 5 side chairs and 1"host or hostess" chair which was the standard set type back in the day. There are no leaves anymore. You will need to have the chair seats recovered again. I do have the pattern from when the old/original was removed in order to refinish it. The lighter refinishing on the chair seat ends is because the fabric overlapped and was ended with brass studs-see the last picture of how it originally looked. I have $650 into the original purchase and $1800 for the refinishing work for a total of $2400. 1930's high end Duncan Phyfe style dining room set. Purchased by my grandfather for my grandmother in 1939. This set was in their formal dining room and saw little use. Set has the RARE curved glass corner hutch(valued at $1500 alone) All pieces are in very good original condition with one minor chip(shown) on buffet. We just refinished the table top again. The rest is in good condition with a few marks or dings. It could be used right away and look great or a little bit of work could bring it back to new condition. The cloth seat covers need to be replaced– but that can be done in a couple of hours with fabric and a staple gun. A restorer will probably want to refinish the top of the dining table. We put the leaves in to show for the picture and were surprised at how the table's finish looked originally. This dining table has 3 bases. Which expand with the leaves. The chairs are a bit wobbly and one has a piece that needs repair. We have also repaired one of the bases but only with screws; not professional woodworking restoration. It is strong and useable. The hutch is in its original condition. No broken parts* The buffet is also in its original condition with no broken parts. My husband and I bought this at an estate sale last summer from a couple who had been married 61 years and ... morehad lived in the same home most of those married years. They took excellent care of this Duncan Phyfe set. We put it in our college son's rental home for the last year. A rich brown mahogany drop leaf table is the centerpiece of this beautiful dining set. With leaves down. It is a modest 26" x 42" With its leaves up it is a 66" x42" table. The three brass-pawed pedestals move smoothly on the rack and pinion as the table is opened to receive the 3-12" leaves making it an impressive 102" It has 3/8" thick custom table pads that work in any of the table's configurations. We are including 5 matching chairs with period upholstered seats and simple splayed legs. The mahogany buffet has simple curves in the top that are reflected in the double curved front. The drawers are dovetailed and the 2 felt lined drawers for the silverware have 3 divided sections. The original hardware has oval stamped brass back plates with brass bails. The corner cabinet compliments the set, but ... moreit was purchased later to complete the group. It has glass doors on top, with display shelves including plate grooves. The lower solid door area has two shelves. You might be able to tell from the pictures we are drastically changing the décor of our dining room and Duncan Phyfe does not go well in our new plans. This set has been in our home for nearly 30 years. The revival of this furniture style happened between the 30s and early 50s. This set has been refinished and the traditional red tone was removed giving it a warm brown finish that is quite durable and waterproof.

Lovely Brandt"Warfield" solid Mahogany drop leaf table. 40 X 26 folded. 3 additional 14" leaves. 6 chairs. 4 side and to arm chairs. Side board, China hutch, Serving tray and stand, Plant stand with marble and copper inserts. Minor scratches and dings from being moved on top of side board and plant stand. Table top refinished, needs top coat of poly urethane. Chairs have been recovered over original gold color. Over all, in very good condition. Hate selling but moving out of state and don't have room.
