With blue ice top and chrome sides and legs, it seats 4 as is or pulls apart for a leaf(which is included) to seat 6. the ... morechrome around edge is great shine no rust, the legs were rusty and instead of using nevr-dull which would make them shiny we painted with aluminum paint which is now chipping in places as shown. the top has a pot burn mark as shown and a small hole as shown, we had a centerpiece and napkin holder hiding the flaws. the leaf top is great the chrom slides on and off for easier storage, but we had it a little to close to the steam heat and it damaged the back wood of the leaf as shown, it's underneath. otherwise good used vintage condition. This furniture is circa 1920. Jacobean or Tudor style. Not really considered antique(100 yrs) It is more commonly called vintage, though I have seen it called antique vintage to attract a wider audience. I was unable to locate any manufacture or date on the furniture other than on the bottom of the chairs which most likely was a re-upholster tag. Although considered common furniture in the 1920s-30s it is an excellent example of detail and craftsmanship. This type of furniture was made by many different manufacturers and sold by many different stores; so finding an exact manufacturer might not be possible. The more common furniture usually was not stamped by any manufacturer. Possibly made from bass wood or common wood. Would like to sell as a group. The set consists of: A massive 3 piece breakfront; A double pedestal oval dining table with 3 skirted leaves stored in their original rack; A matched set of 6 side chairs with wrapped upholstered seats with gilt highlights; A 2 door. With 6 drawers server/ credenza Being approximately 70 + years old. There are some extremely minor marks of light wear, expected to be found on an older set of used, vintage furniture. Overall, the condition, in our opinion, is EXCELLENT! The tops are clean& the finish is original. The upholstery on the chairs is good, with very few marks or wear. The entire set is composed of solid woods& burl European walnut matched veneers. The finish is original& the case pieces are accented by painted black line inlays on the edges. Which create a wonderful, dark contrast to the richness& depth of color of the medium to light colored European walnut veneers. The style of the entire suite is in the form of English Regency, and the finish is reminiscent of German Beidemeier furniture. The original hardware is solid brass. SET WAS PURCHASED IN 1943 PER OWNER. IT WAS HER PARENTS SET. THE FOLDING TABLE HAS 6 LEGS AND LOCKS TOGETHER WITHOUT THE LEAVES IN IT. IT COMES WITH 2 LEAVES. THE SIX CHAIRS HAVE SPINDLES AND BRACED BACKS. TWO OF THEM ARE CAPTAINS CHAIRS THEY CALL COMB BACK ONES THAT ALSO HAVE BRACED BACKS. UNDER ONE OF THE CHAIRS IT HAS"PRISCILLA FLAT" STAMPED IN BLACK INK. SOME OF THE OTHERS HAVE HAD PAPER TAGS ON BOTTOM BUT HAVE WORN OFF TO BE UNREADABLE. THE PICTURE SHOWN IS WITHOUT THE LEAVES. LOVELY Duncan Phyfe style drop-leaf table set 4 CARVED FLower chairs 2 leaves
Dining(drop-leaf) Table with four Chairs two Leaves This set is in great condition. It has a nice glossy finish. There are some numbers stamped on the bottom of the table and chairs and very old labels from the chairs being upholstered. My best guess is that it's from around 1950 or before. It could be much older or a bit newer. The table has very nice hardware that allows you to drop the leaves very nicely(I forgot to get pictures of that) It also expends nicely. It has a very nice overall appearance. whoever refinished it did not do the table justice but that is not noticeable unless you look very closely. A few runs in the polyurethane and a couple poorly sanded spots can be seen on the chairs and legs of the table. Opened without any leaves measures approximately 58 in. long by 42 in. wide. Has two(2) 12 in. original leaves and one smaller makeshift 10 in. leaf that make the table a maximum length of 92 in. long.almost 8 ft. Has 4 double curved legs with claw feet and brass toe caps. The table and leaves are in very nice condition with no major scratches. Comes with a 2 piece. Thick felt table cover protector. Set of six(6) dining chairs are Victorian style with curved legs. Padded upholstered seats and ornately carved backs(please see closeup picture) The fabric on the seats is cream/off-white colored(a little darker than the pictures show) with light rose/pink colored flowers. The fabric on the seats is in really good ... morecondition with no rips or tears, but there are some spots and they could use a good shampooing/cleaning. Overall all the wood on the chairs is also in very nice condition as well. PLEASE NOTE: The back on one of the chairs has broken in half horizontally, but can very easily be fixed.
