Oak Dining Set, Heavily Carved, European French Country-Table and 6 Chairs
First off. We are not furniture dealers. This beautiful antique set has graced our home for over 20 years. Time goes by and we are downsizing, so it's important to us that this set end up with someone who will appreciate its beauty and respect its workmanship as much as we do. We bought this set as a favor to a friend. We do not know how old it is or where it was manufactured. Dealers selling similar pieces on Ebay have used the description Vintage French Country. What we do know is that this piece is very well built. It's all tongue and groove. This set is solid oak with a medium finish. The parquet top is solid. Not veneer. The piece is heavily carved with gorgeous detail. The legs are curved with carved detail. Pictures do not do this set justice. The flaws mentioned are mostly hardly noticeable. We were so fortunate to be able to purchase this quality dining room set from the third generation of the original family. We have the real provenance to who have been owners of this dining room set that was purchased in 1905. Originally purchased by a young couple in St Louis upon their wedding. It has been in their family ever since. They became prominent wealthy citizens owning a historic Funeral Parlor business in ST Louis. This dining room set was shipped to them by train from Chicago. This dining room set consists of 11 pieces.all solid quarter sawn tiger oak. The dining table is 54" round with a beaded edge and massive claw feet. The pedestal opens with a center leg. And will accommodate 4 solid oak table leaves that extend the table to 8 1/2 feet The table top is in good condition for the age, with only a couple of small scratches. ... moreThere are 6 T back clawfooted side chairs, and 1 clawfooted arm chair for the head of the house. Unfortunately, there are no makers marks or labels on this set other than a paper label inside the buffet drawer that states this set is made of the highest grade of solid quarter sawn oak, no veneers were used. It had to be a quality furniture maker because of the way this set is constructed. The silverware drawer is lined with velvet, and the drawers are dovetailed, plus we have the original keys to lock the drawers and china cabinet. The buffet sideboard measures 60" wide by 26" deep and 6 ft 5" tall. And is unusual because it can also double as a separate server by taking the top piece off the buffet and setting it on the floor. The server separately would measure 60" wide x 16" deep and 39 inches tall. The mirror measures 50" x 23" with a 1 1/2" bevel glass mirror, and just sits inside the frame of the server, and can be removed easily. Take a good look at the buffet pictures, and you will see that there are legs that sit up off the top of the buffet, those legs are on the ground when used as a server. Very unusual! The Breakfront has date, 1906 and signature of the craftsman. Up for sale-a spectacular 15 piece quartered oak dining room set. All pieces are early 1900's and have been fully restored. Starting with the china cabinet. It is fully hooded quartered oak with beautiful leaded/beveled glass inserts. All original shelves and brackets.It measures a full 48" in width and stands 74" in height. There are no breaks. Cracks or chips in any of the leaded glass or curved glass. It also has full formed claw feet on all 4 corners-not just the front. Next-the sideboard. Again-all quarter sawn oak. Fully hooded with resilvered original mirrors. All original hardware and still has its original felt liner in the right hand silver drawer. All original hardware with great patina. These are the most difficult of the Larkins to find at all-and a set of 12 is almost unheard of. These chairs have a beautiful basket weave design not found on any of the other 6 styles of Larkin. Beautifully turned sides and great support on the base of the chairs-making them functional as well as georgous. All chairs have perfect pressed cane seats-no tears, holes etc. With only being able to post 12 pictures-I had to choose those I felt best showed the set. Antique wicker dining set with oak top and four chairs (circa 1920s)
I am selling my beautiful. Newly restored 1920's wicker dining set. I am told that a pedestal wicker table with an oak top, of this age and condition is very rare. The set comes with a table with oak top and extension, and four chairs. All in excellent condition. The chairs each have a few places where the caning is broken but it does not affect their function at all.all of them are incredibly sturdy. Under the table is an old fashion electrical outlet, for plugging in a lamp. I left it there, to keep it authentic but it can easily be removed. The only reason I am selling this is that it will not fit into our new house. This set would look perfect on a porch, deck or in a sun room.

Berkey and Gay 1930's Carved Oak Dining Set 5 Chairs Buffet
This oak dining room set bears the make of Berkey and Gay and the Simmons Co. Who bought Berkey and Gay in 1929 and owned the Co thru 1935. The set has been in my Chicago family since the 1930's. Some may call it a Jacobean style, but I think of it as Art Deco. The table measures 60 inches long and 40 wide. There is a built in 18 inch leaf on each end which adds another 3 feet. There are four chairs, the fifth with arms. The seats are covered in a turquoise cotton and are not original, but easy to replace. The buffet stands 5 feet, 6 inches tall, 3 feet 9 inches across. It has one long drawer and then two shelves inside the bottom drawers and the pulls are original. Because it is at least 80 years old, the set has some chips and could be refinished. But this is solid oak with a great deal of carved wood. The table is heavy, so that in ... moreorder to move it the legs must first be removed and the bottom and top moved separately. 1930s Art Deco 4 Chair Set With Unique Oak Dining Table
First. The 4 chairs are a matching Art Deco set. I believe they are oak. The style is simple and classy with a bit of carving detail and spindle work. Clearly, from the photos you can see that the original leather seating area needs to be replaced. This will be an easy task because they have drop in seats- they can simply be recovered then put back in place.The bodies of the chairs are all sturdy and in good condition. The finish of the chairs is in good, antique condition as well. They measure 34 inches high overall, and have a seat height of 18 inches. As for the table. The oak top and it's current legs have been paired together and are not original as one unit, but they do look nice together. The most unique aspect of the table is it's hinged leaf that is part of the table top assembly. Simple mechanics allow for the leaf to fold ... moreand store underneath the top. The size goes from 46.5 x 33 to 61 x 33 in one easy step(see photos) There is some wear to the table, but some sprucing up, not a total re-do would do the trick. Lot includes: Buffet with original mirror and brass accents measuring 87" wide by 18" deep and 60" tall at the top of the mirror. There are three drawers with dovetail construction and forged brass handles with citrus motif that matches and hammered brass accents. There are 4 doors that open for storage each with two shelves(shelves are not original to the piece but were custom made to match) and key lock(key is included) Dining Table with Brass Accents and 3 leaves and carved brass accents on the base. The piece measures 43"w x 55"l x 29 12" tall and includes 3 leaves measuring 18" x 55" each(not original to the table but custom made to match) ... moreThe table is unique in the way it opens up. The base stays in place for stability while the legs separate. It makes the table sturdy when all three leaves are in. The table base has hammered brass accents of citrus on both sides(please see photos) Chairs with Brass Accents. Set of 4 with hammered brass accents in a citrus motif and caning on seat and back. Chairs measure 16" x 16" x 36" tall. All chairs are useable but do require some caning repair(please see detailed photos) Sideboard with Brass Handles and Marble Top: This piece is a beautiful sideboard with forged brass handle with a citrus motif. Drawer with dovetail construction and marble top. There is lovely detail on the legs and drawer and has 2 shelves for display. 1930's VINTAGE ANTIQUE GIMBELS CARVED SOLID OAK DINING ROOM SET
For sale is a 9 Piece Jacobean style dining room set from the 1930's. It was originally purchased at Gimbels in New York. It is in very good condition. The only area of concern is water damage on the top of the table(as pictured) It can probably be stained to cover it up. Other than that it is in like new original condition. Has been sitting in a smoke and pet free home. Polished every week by a cleaning lady for 30 years. The upholstery on the chairs is in excellent condition. Some minor scratches on chair legs.
