This furniture is circa 1920. Jacobean or Tudor style. Not really considered antique(100 yrs) It is more commonly called vintage, though I have seen it called antique vintage to attract a wider audience. I was unable to locate any manufacture or date on the furniture other than on the bottom of the chairs which most likely was a re-upholster tag. Although considered common furniture in the 1920s-30s it is an excellent example of detail and craftsmanship. This type of furniture was made by many different manufacturers and sold by many different stores; so finding an exact manufacturer might not be possible. The more common furniture usually was not stamped by any manufacturer. Possibly made from bass wood or common wood. Would like to sell as a group. Lenoir, North Carolina-the underside of the table is also stamped: Oval Table-Cherry-29-etc. Made of Cherry wood-medium, chestnut brown stain allows for much of the grain in the wood to show. Set consisted of table with removable center piece-5 regular chairs and one captain's chair with arms-hutch and buffet. I bought these 20 years ago and now am getting different furniture. I had the seats professionally reupholstered long ago to match my decor(olive green/goldish print)I have always kept seat pads on the chairs when in use-so the seats are in great condition. Table measures 58" x 40" x 30 1/2" tall-with an additional center piece that measures 12" wide. The Hutch is 47" x 15" x 70" tall. The Buffet is 57" x 17 1/2" x 30 1/3" tall. Overall very nice condition-normal wear for being 84 years old. Some things I would mention are that the wood color of the center piece section is darker than the rest of the table, it was like that when I bought it-possible meant for contrast or maybe because it was stored out of the light)also a slice of the corner wood has broken off as can be seen the the picture-back rt corner of section. Also-a bit of wood had chipped off the top corner of the table leg(tiny but I mention it to be exact-not seen from the top) The legs screw off with attachment bolts to remove them for storage. Also, one chair missing a decorative wood curve on front leg-shown in pic. Also- scratch on table top-6" and 1 1/2"shown in last pic. If I missed something-please ask. The color of the hutch in the first pic is the true color-rich and beautiful. It’s constructed of solid maple—no veneers. It features a rectangular table with x-crossed legs. It also has two bench type seats with x-crossed legs. On the ends are more traditional 4-leg chairs. This is a matched set. We originally purchased this at the now defunct Swank Interiors in St. Paul. Minnesota. We paid substantially more than our opening bid amount. It’s complete and in very good condition. There are a few scrapes here and there. There’s one dark dent on the top. 1930s Art Deco 4 Chair Set With Unique Oak Dining Table
First. The 4 chairs are a matching Art Deco set. I believe they are oak. The style is simple and classy with a bit of carving detail and spindle work. Clearly, from the photos you can see that the original leather seating area needs to be replaced. This will be an easy task because they have drop in seats- they can simply be recovered then put back in place.The bodies of the chairs are all sturdy and in good condition. The finish of the chairs is in good, antique condition as well. They measure 34 inches high overall, and have a seat height of 18 inches. As for the table. The oak top and it's current legs have been paired together and are not original as one unit, but they do look nice together. The most unique aspect of the table is it's hinged leaf that is part of the table top assembly. Simple mechanics allow for the leaf to fold ... moreand store underneath the top. The size goes from 46.5 x 33 to 61 x 33 in one easy step(see photos) There is some wear to the table, but some sprucing up, not a total re-do would do the trick. This unique group has been my everyday dining set and I am attached to it. But we have sadly grown out of it.
