Made from silver plate, the basket is created from a series of rope loops with a complimentary twisted rope swing handle. A quite fabulous and rarely found salad bowl. When we do see anything like this, they are much smaller, this is a very good size, making it a very usable set. The bowl is beautifully hand-cut with the ever-popular hobnail design and unusually having a footed base again deeply cut. The bowl comes complete with the original servers with stunning cut crystal handles. Antique English Cut Crystal & Silver Plated Ice Bucket early 1910-1920
This piece is in immaculate shape. There is some patina on the handle and rim. But if you don't like that look it will clean up very easily. This heavy duty crystal has some beautiful diamond shaped cuts along the upper edge and lower edges. The main portion of the piece is composed of tiny diamond shapes which sparkle in the light. This piece is a fantastic addition to any side bar or liquor cabinet. Even after nearly 100 years of use, this piece still looks new. There is one tiny chip in a single point along the body. The bucket is 3.25 inches in diameter at the top. And 4 inches tall. The handle is roughly 4 inches tall as well. Offered in this sale is an assembled group of six deep cobalt"Bristol" blue hand blown glass finger bowls that I believe are English in origin dating to the late mid to later 1800s. No two bowls are exactly alike. They vary in size from 2 1/2" tall x 4 3/4" in diameter to 3 5/8" tall x 4 3/4" in diameter. They have polished pontils or cut polished bases which you can see illustrated in the 3rd. 5th, 7th and 8th images. The two bowls illustrated in the 2nd& 3rd images are in excellent condition, however, one has a band of interior surface staining from liquid left in the bowl and the second has overall interior staining otherwise neither of the two bowls has any chips, cracks, flakes, hairlines or evidence of grinding. Nowadays, this can be easily polished out. The other four bowls are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, flakes, hairlines or evidence of grinding. ANTIQUE 1880 ENGLISH COTTAGE WARE ART GLASS DECOR BOWL/BASKET VALENTINES GIFT!
I purchased this beauty from an antique shop years ago. I can only tell you what I was told about it: it is late 18oo's(1880) made. This is English Cottage Ware Glass. It is so colorful and is pristine. It measures 5.5 inches tall and 5 inches wide side to side. Marvelous frills edge the 8 point design and a white interior is set off against the brightly multicolored outside. This is glorious and a must have for the glass collector! What a marvelous Valentines Day gift!
