Cranberry glass is in the pattern of diamond shapes through out the entire bowl. Applied crystal threading is on the entire exterior of the bowl and is complimented with a single row of applied crystal shaped seashells. Very nice polished pontil on the bowl. The bowl has no chips. Hairline breaks or mineral deposit. There is a manufacture open air bubble on the inside of the bowl. Threads are 90% complete. However. Do to age and use there is some missing sections of threads on the base. Common to find and expect since the bowl will sit flat on any surface. I am not sure of the maker. Possibly Stevens& Williams( The underplate measures about 6 1/4" across and about 1 1/2" tall at highest point. Bowl measures about 6 1/8" by 4 7/8" and about 2 1/2" tall at highest point. Both pieces are in excellent condition. There is a small flake to the threading on the base of the bowl(see photo) There is a small area on the side of the bowl which has some minor irregularity in the making as well as a few tiny flakes(see photo) There are no other chips or cracks. Both pieces have gold edging. There is some rubbing to ... moregold but it is mostly intact. Both pieces have ground and polished pontils. I don't see any maker's mark. A great and wonderful Victorian brides bowl. These disappeared from the catalogs at the turn of the century. The stand is marked Hartford Plate. Bowl has floral enameling. Brides bowl measures app 12" at its widest width. The polished pontail measures app 3 3/4" in diam. With stand height is app 7" tall. Stand is app 13" wide at its widest point and stand is app 4 1/4" in height. The area where the bowl sits on the stand is app 4 1/4" in diam. STEVENS & WILLIAMS cased glass footed bowl ca. 1895-1900. DAMAGED!
There are many problems with this cased glass three footed bowl. But it is stunning! There is a crack in the body that I suspect happened during manufacturing. The applied molted glass stylized feet with acanthus leaves and the daisies was hand applied to the bowl, therefore the temperature difference between the bowl and the molten applied floral and leaf decorations made this a difficult piece to manufacture. Only one of the three applied stylized daisies are intact. Only traces left of the other two flowers. This is a damage that has happened over the years. One of the feet are perfect. The other two has chips, but they are even and the bowl stands solid and even. There are also some chips on the underside of one of the ruffled sides(see pictures) I have never seen such a beautiful piece of cased glass. The outer layer is yellow. White ... morein the middle and a beautiful pink as the outer layer. The green glass feet are probably Vaseline glass(uranium? It is a stunning display piece. Sandwich Antique Victorian Stevens Williams Era Antique Finely Threaded Glass Finger Bowl This listing is for this antique glass bowl. It has finely threaded applied lines around it and on the base. This is a turquoise blue color with white threads. This measures a little over 5 inches diameter and 2 1/2 inches tall. This is in good condition with some in the making glass inclusions. I have shown one of these hat is a deposit of glass on the interior from when it was hand blown. One of the threads on the base has a small nibble to it as shown in the photo of the bottom. Besides this there are no cracks or chips. Please note that there are reflections and shadows in the photos. Shipping to the Continental US will be $6.95.
