Hobbs Brockunier "Daisy & Button" bowl Pattern # 101
Presenting for your bidding; This"Daisy& Button" bowl, pattern# 101 Made by Hobbs Brockunier& Co. c. 1884. The bowl measures; 9 3/4 inches wide by 3 1/8 inches tall. The bowl weighs 2 1/2 pounds. This is a very colorful. Stunning, heavy bowl. The condition is very good. There are a couple of small flea bites. One chip on the inside of the bowl in a clear area, but no cracks. When handling be careful. The edges are sharp. Winter deliveries can be hard on old glass or ceramics. Please do not handle the glass right away on arrival. Instead. Just open the box and let it warm up slowly for at least a couple of hours, even overnight. Do not even upwrap it. You want to avoid thermal shock. When you have a very cold piece of glass and something warm touches it. It could cause thermal shock thus causing the glass to break. Why take ... morea chance? Art Glass Brides Bowl w/Enamel Decoration - Hobbs, Brockunier
Selling a brides basket bowl that I think was made by Hobbs. Brockunier of Wheeling, WV. It was probably made around the late 1880s to 1900. The bowl is 12" across and is 2 1/2" high. The base of the bowl is 4 1/4" across where it would fit in a handled basket. The bowl is pink shading to a darker pink with a satin color around the rim. The bowl has gold enamelling with white flowers. Some of the enamelling is missing. I have not tried to clean the bowl. I'll leave that up to the buyer. The bowl is in good condition with no damage. Here's an exquisite SUGAR BOWL with a uniquely ruffled top edge. In the‘Viking’ pattern made by Hobbs Brockunier& Co. for the 1876 Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia, PA. The Viking name is appropriate since the face of a bearded man(viking) is used in high relief on each of the three feet on the platform style base. Hobbs is the only know manufacturer of the Viking pattern which was patented Nov. 21, 1876 as#9,647. Production dates 1876-1890. This sugar bowl is made with clear non-flint glass. This item is about 4 1/2" across by 1 3/4" tall. The rim is fluted and amber colored. There are a few little flea bites. Chips and bruises on the hobnails and rim but in fairly good condition for a piece of this type. The handling cost on foreign sales includes insurance against loss or damage in transit. I believe it was made by Hobbs. Brockunier& Company at the end of the nineteenth century. The canary color glass is"Spangled" with mica and cased in white. The bowl measures 3 5/8" high, 9 7/8" across at the top and 5" at the base. The bottom has a ground pontil. The bowl is in very good estate condition with no damage, wear or repairs noted.
