The glass bowl is one of the nicest that I have seen. It has fabulous Enamel Decorations, of leaves and floral detailing. It measures approx 12-1/2" diameter. It is in Excellent Condition- I would call it perfect albeit a most minor flat spot on the rim that appears to be a manufacturing nuance, not damage. I have looked at this with a magnifying glass and it is obvious after observing this first hand that it is not a chip but a flat spot somehow done during manufacture. Although extremely difficult to view, I have a pic of the area shown in my last pic. The frame is in Excellent Condition. Made of Quadruple Silver Plate by the Wilcox Silver-Plate Co. It stands approx 10-3/4" tall and approx 12-3/4" across. Both the decorated bowl and the Silver-Plate frame are gorgeous. The item comes direct from the collection of an area advance collector. Sold to me when settling her estate. The underside of the bowl bears a sticker that either she attached or was the sale price back in the day. It's very ornate: The inside of the basket is decorated with a etched motif of flowers and leaves. The outer is fluted like a pie crust. The handle has an intricate filigree ornament in a floral and leaf motif. The bottom rim has a relief fern design. The four feet have an ornate relief scrolled design. This cake stand is in good antique condition: The silver plate appears to be intact over most of the stand; it should polish up nicely. The top of the handle might be slightly bent backward, but I do believe it was made that way. I see some scratches in the center of the basket. The handle will remain standing up if you wish. The stand measures about 9" from table top to top of handle. The basket measures 10" across at its widest. CONDITION NOTE: All of our items are vintage or antique. The quadruple plated silver basket was made by the MIDDLETOWN PLATE CO. See mark in picture provided. I have included a bit of MIDDLETOWN PLATE CO. history below. There are also some numbers on the bottom of basket and part of the marking says, HARD WHITE METAL" I polished the basket prior to taking pictures so that you can see much of the silver is gone from years of polishing. But there remains a nice patina. The metal basket is sturdy and sits level. It has a beaded rope design with flowers and tassels on the handle. The base has flowers and what seems to be an Asian influenced design. See pictures. The glass brides bowl is white with a teal color around the ruffled edge. When held up to the light the glass takes on a pearlescent look. See picture. It measures approximately 7 inches in diameter. It does have one barely noticeable chip in the glass. See pictures. Your eye is not immediately drawn to this and it does not detract from the beauty of the piece. This little basket is great to use for teas. It is hand painted with orange blossoms and shadowy gray leaves. The bowl is 10.5" wide. It and the silver plate frame are a marriage. That is, the basket doesn't fit down securely within the frame. The frame is marked"Wilcox Silver Plate Co. Quadruple Plate 7610" The frame is about 12" tall. A large amount of the silverplate has worn off. Hello. This is a beautiful antique Brides bowl with metal basket. The metal(Unknown, might be pewter) basket stands 12" tall and has a wonderful detailed and ornate design. The widest area across from ball to ball is 12" The bowl is a double crimp ruffle with a clear crest at the top and is a pinkish cranberry color. It has three groups of hand painted flowers with one on the bottom. The flowers are a mix of pink shades with yellow buds, blue petite flowers and green accents. The artist did a wonderful job of paint blending to create the colorful roses. This large bowl is 10" across and 4" tall. The bowl is in excellent used condition and so is the paint. No damage. The metal basket has the patina a basket of this age would display. with no repairs.

Very nice brides bowl on silver plate stand. Stand has damage to the curl under one of the angels causing it to stand slightly tilted. This would require a very slight bend back into the original position. The missing metal is not that noticeable. See photo. Very slight paint damage shown in photo and general wear to gold paint. VICTORIAN CASED ANTIQUE BRIDES BOWL - BASKET WITH RAISED ENAMEL FLOWERS
Up for auction is a beautiful Victorian Berry or Fruit Bowl. Also known as a Brides Basket or Brides Bowl or Victorian Centerpiece bowl. The glass on this bowl is simply gorgeous. It's a lovely shade of rose or even cranberry, translucent until the milky cased glass envelopes it from the mid section to the bottom. The glass is finely tooled and worked with a beautiful cut edge or fleur-de-lis. The inside of the bowl is enameled with daisies or wildflowers in white and shades of mustard and yellow. There are flowers and leaves, all in clean original colors. The enamel is in excellent condition with no loss that I can see. This is a large and extremely beautiful bowl. The bowl is about 12.5" wide at the diagonal and 10" wide across. The bowl is about 3.5" deep. The base is somewhat rounded at the foot. About 4.25" across. ... moreIt would probably take a holder of 4.5" in diameter in a silver plated frame but again this is more of a rounded foot. The shape of the bowl is actually square if you view it from above or below. Victorian art glass bowls such as this were often paired with elaborate brides basket frames(as they are called today) made by companies such as Meriden, Wilcox, James Tufts or Rockford Silver Plate Company. This bowl is likely by one of the American makers such as New England or Mt. Washington, but it could also be Bohemian and made by S tevens and Williams or Stourbridge. I find no cracks. Breaks, chips or repairs to the bowl. The glass is clean and shiny and the enamel work again is gorgeous. All in all this is a lovely and charming example of Victorian fancy goods. This is a beautiful Victorian cased glass 11" brides bowl with enameled blue and yellow flowers and a yellow star-like design in the center. It also has a striking double ruffled rim. The exterior of this bowl is white and the interior shades from a deep rose to pink to white with the floral design all around the inside. Brides bowls were very popular as a wedding gift in the Victorian period. Especially in the late 1800's. This bowl dates from the 1890's and could have been made by any of the well known glass houses, such as New England, Pairpoint or Mt. Washington. Since they were seldom marked, it is difficult to name a definite maker. This brides bowl is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or other damage. I am offering a Victorian 1890's beautiful glass Bride's Bowl. This bowl has an attractive combination of overlay colors including milk white exterior with a cranberry interior that is accented with a canary vaseline glass crimped rim. The combination of the colors is wonderful under a black light. The white glass is not uv reactive. But it reflects the black light giving it a bluish purple tone. On the bottom of the bowl. There is a piece of tape that says given to mom and dad on their wedding day Dec 3rd 1891. I'm unsure of the maker. But it could possibly by Stevens and Williams or Webb. But believed to be a Webb& Sons created art glass Brides Bowl/Basket. Elegant white satin exterior decorated in a gold gild with flowers, vine, leaf, berries, and butterflies. The rim is undulated with a clear applied beading. The interior is a soft peach color. Infused with light the exterior takes on an ethereal pale peach glow. A nice addition to any collector of Victorian miniature oil lamps. CONDITION REPORT: Very good. Reasonable shelf wear. Mostly confined to bottom of foot, which would be expected from an item ... moreof this age. No chips or cracks. Circular makers blemish on inside edge of recessed foot. Very fine 9 and 1/2 inches wide and 4 inches tall Unique colored opal slag brides center bowl signed on the bottom B with some numbers. I see no chips no cracks no repairs slight ware to the gold from age and very fine enamel work on the outside. It will fit in a holder no larger than 4 and 1/2 inches wide. Earlier this month I sold two lovely epergnes that came from a fabulous Victorian estate. This is a very nice BRIDES BASKET from the same estate.blue satin glass with hand painted floral decorations.raised enameled dots too. It measures about 10 1/2" tall; glass basket. 10" diameter. The basket rim is scalloped and pleated; inner part has a scalloped ribbed effect. This piece has been stored for basically 20+ years and needs to be cleaned. No identifying marks on the metal base. Its condition is very good.there are a few minute creases/indentions on the upper pleated surface- could have been in the actual production. Definitely does not detract from the overall appearance. Yes, it comes apart for easier shipping and cleaning. Will be double boxed, shipped Priority, and fully insured. I accept Paypal.
