Hello. You are viewing my sale for an Antique Rose Designed Flowered Bowl With a Ruffled Border. This may be a Goofus Glass Bowl made by the Lancaster Glass Company. I am uncertain of this however it most probably is. This is A WOW Piece. This bowl is made of glass and has 8 points where there is a beautiful painted rose on the end of each point. There is also a rose painted in the middle of the bowl. The entire glass has a gold painting with the roses painted on top of this gold paint. This bowl appears to be from the 1890 to 1910 period however I may be slightly off on the years. There is some minor paint removed from the bowl which I have shown in my photographs. The bowl measures 9 and 1/2" across by 3" tall. This bowl is in good condition with no breaks, chips, or repairs present. This listing is for an antique Goofus Glass gold colored bowl with red roses and ruffled or scalloped edges. We are unsure of the exact date on this piece. But we do know it was made before 1940. Some of the paint has flaked off, which I do believe is a common problem with this type of glass. There are no chips or cracks, but there is what appears to be a swirl type flaw on the bottom near the rose from the manufacturing process. Please see photos

Shiny nice condition except for a small 1/8"hole on side on one of the roses sticking out. A shallow chip underside of lip ring along with some tiny nicks. Goofus glass was cheap to produce, so these were often given as premiums for other purchases. The name is a bit of a mystery, but it is generally believed to refer to the lack of durability of the unfired paint.
