First the measurements: The beautiful ruffled bowl is 8-10 in it's undulations. The metal frame is approximately 9 1/2 wide and 11 1/2 high. I see no flaws in the bowl, no chips, cracks. The frame is in great condition no repairs or blemishes, although there is pitting on base, the part that is covered by the ruffled bowl. The hallmark is clear and it has an engraved number on the bottom. The ingraining on the base is exquisite. Shaded Blue Opaline Opalescent Enameled Victorian Blown Glass Brides Bowl Basket
This is a lovely piece of Victorian art glass. I believe it is a bride's bowl or the insert to a small bride's basket. It is in opaline or opalescent glass that is mostly opaque white in the center. But then shades to a very blue and transparent edge treatment. The inside of this bowl has a lot of the blue especially out close to the pure blue edge, but the outside or bottom is mostly just pure white until you reach the transparent blue edge. It is hand decorated in an enameled floral design and has an image of a walking couple in the very center. That image has suffered a lot of wear and is a little faint, but you can still make out the very old attire of the man. His clothing actually looks older that Victorian. It looks more like Colonial American era, so this piece was probably made in the late 19th century and was designed to ... morework on their romantic nostalgia for earlier times. The bowl measures about 6" across and is about 2 3/4" high. It is a blown piece of glass, and has a pontil on bottom. It has a stepped foot with straight sides, and I think was meant to fit down into the silver-plate ring of a Basket. i wish I had the metal part too, but the glass insert is all I have. It is in excellent condition. I picked up several pieces of nice Victorian art glass lately from the home of a dealer. I am selling them in other auctions. You should look at them too.

Up for your consideration is this Exquisite Victorian Peach Blow Glass Bride's Bowl with Van Bergh Quadruple Plated Basket. I believe this to be made in the 1890s by Mt. Washington Glass Co. but uncertain of exact age and origin. This Beautiful Victorian art glass Bride's Bowl is hand blown and has high ruffled flounces which is crimped edging. It has Stunning colors of a lush, dark rosy pink which fades into a pale blush pink then into milk white. The pink and white glass is encased inside a layer of clear glass and has clear glass edging around the ruffles. The exterior is white with an smooth pontil mark. It is in Great Condition with no cracks, hairlines, repairs, flea bites, or sickness; does appear to have some air bubbles which would've ... moreoccurred during the making process. I believe it has the original frame/basket which has a gorgeous ornate top handle and is marked on the bottom, The Van Bergh S.P. CO Quadruple Plate Made in USA Rochester NY, a"2" engraved below the marking, and"XLV" engraved to the side of it; does have a little bit of wear which is expected due to the age but looks like it just needs to be cleaned up and polished if desired. The Stunning Glass Bride's Bowl measures 11" at the widest point, 4 1/5" at the tallest point, and has a base of 3" wide. The silver plated basket is 11 1/2" tall by 11 11/16" wide with a bottom base of 4 7/8" wide and top base of 3 7/16" wide; the inside of top base where the glass bowl sits measures 3 1/16" in diameter so the bowl fits snug. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN PEACHBLOW DOUBLE RUFFLE ART GLASS BRIDES BOWL Basket ROSES
Hello. This is a beautiful antique Brides bowl with metal basket. The metal(Unknown, might be pewter) basket stands 12" tall and has a wonderful detailed and ornate design. The widest area across from ball to ball is 12" The bowl is a double crimp ruffle with a clear crest at the top and is a pinkish cranberry color. It has three groups of hand painted flowers with one on the bottom. The flowers are a mix of pink shades with yellow buds, blue petite flowers and green accents. The artist did a wonderful job of paint blending to create the colorful roses. This large bowl is 10" across and 4" tall. The bowl is in excellent used condition and so is the paint. No damage. The metal basket has the patina a basket of this age would display. with no repairs.

ANTIQUE CRANBERRY CRACKLE GLASS BRIDES BASKET / CENTERPIECE BOWL
Another unusual old cranberry glass piece for your consideration. This is what I would call true CRACKLE glass- reminds me almost of tiny snowflakes covering most of the bowl except the outer cranberry rim- only the bottom of the bowl actually has the crackle feel. The bowl itself measures about 9" in diameter and 2 1/2" high; 5" with the base attached. When I ran my finger around the rim. I found one tiny sliver on one tip- not even noticeable. I'm not sure of the base metal- doesn't appear to be silverplate, more of just a pot metal- same thing for the screw that anchors the bowl to the base. The metal screw seems to be missing some side prongs. This displays well. Came from an estate where CRANBERRY was the standard. A very pleasing item. I accept Paypal. Shipping to U.S. locations only.

11 3/4" wide and 4 1/4" high glass brides basket. Dark pink on edge, getting lighter in color towards the center with hand painted branches, leaves, and fruit inside the basket. AUSTRIA" is stamped on the bottom. Although it is still very impressive to look at, there is some paint loss on some of the leaves and fruit. Up for sale is this beautiful Victorian era art glass brides bowl. This is one of the finest examples I have had the pleasure of offering. The light lime green color in the satin glass is very unusual and rare. The flowers are beautifully hand applied. The trim is thick gold and the insides are finely painted. A great ruffled rim treatment is used. The bottom is also numbered and signed. That is something that you do not see often on such pieces! It's a special one! The overall condition is very good. There is one section on the trim where the underside(white) part has been chipped. Both sides are shown in the photo. The full profile is still present. The item for sale is a vintage cased glass ruffled bowl/ brides basket insert. This is in excellent condition with no chips. Breaks, cracks or scratches. The very ornate holder is four footed with face in two places and birds. Holder is marked but cannot make it all out. I can make out that it is silverplate and also part of word that loks like Toronto. Silver holder measures 14 1/2" high and 9 1/2" wide with 3 1/4" hole for insert. The bowl fits in tight.

Antique English ca. 1880 white opaque base with very light blue to bluish turquoise and cased with a crystal trim. The vasa murrhina bowl has silver specks, somewhat polished pontil, and artist initialed. Excellent condition. No chips, nicks, or cracks. VICTORIAN PINK SATIN GLASS BRIDES BOWL or BASKET - SUPERB ENAMEL BIRD & FLORAL
Up for auction is a beautiful Victorian Berry or Fruit Bowl. Also known as a Brides Basket or Brides Bowl or Victorian Centerpiece bowl. This bowl is made from a beautiful satin pink glass cased with satin white glass and hand-painted decoration of enamel. The enamel is wonderfully executed. There is a beautiful bird with flowers and leaves, berries and very delicate ferns. The enamel is in excellent condition. It shades from a deep rose-pink to a lighter pink in wonderful rich hues. This glass is often(mistakenly) referred to as Burmese or Peachblow, however this piece is lined and therefore a lovely example of decorated Victorian satin glass. The bowl is about 7.75" wide and measures about 2.5" high. The bottom is six-sided so is a Hexagon. This measures about 3" across from side-to-side where it would fit into a silver plated ... moreframe. The shape of the bowl is also hexagonal if you view it from above or below. Victorian art glass bowls such as this were often paired with elaborate brides basket frames(as they are called today) made by companies such as Meriden. Wilcox, James Tufts or Rockford Silver Plate Company. This could be a piece by Thomas Webb or one of the famous makers of the late 1800's like S tevens and Williams or Stourbridge. It's possible it's also made by one of the American glass makers of the 1800's like the New England Glass Co. Hobbs Brocknier and Mt. Washington. I find no cracks. Breaks, chips or repairs to the bowl. The glass is clean and bright and the enamel work again is gorgeous. All in all this is a lovely and charming example of Victorian fancy goods. I don't know much about antiques.with that being said I will do my best to describe these! One pink ruffle edge bowl that slowly gets lighter as It fades to the middle. No chips at all! Absolutely beautiful! Blue glass bowl Is see thru. And a gorgeous blue with ruffles that have white on them. No chips at all either. Both have silver holders and I am assuming they are silver plated? Not sure. One is cleaner than the other and could use shining. These bowls are amazing! I was at an estate auction and bought a random box and these were packed in the bottom. Gorgeous blue brides basket bowl, with hand painted birds, cased glass
This ruffled bowl is actually a Victorian or Edwardian brides basket. Without its silver plated holder. the glass is probably American, and it appears to be cased glass. this bride basket insert has hand painted birds on it, against a blue background, which are unique and different from the usual flowers and foliage decor. Lengthwise, it measures 10.5 inches, and width of the folded up sides is 6.75 inches. Most importantly, the bowl's round base is exactly 3 inches across and this is important to know so that if you find a holder for this bride basket insert, you will know the silver base needs to be over 3 inches across. the bowl has a pretty amber rim going round it's edge. This bride basket insert is probably American made and is a gorgeous example of early decorative glass. Antique Mount Washington? Satin Cranberry Diamond Art Glass Brides Basket Bowl
ABSOLUTELY STUNNING- MT. WASHINGTON Style Cranberry& White Satin Glass Oval Pinched Bowl! This is a beautiful piece of Victorian Art Glass! Made of shaded Cranberry& Snow White Cased Satin Glass. THIS Pinched Oval Bowl is Hand Blown& Decorated. Herringbone acid etched pattern! Hand Ground Pontil Mark On Base! Measures: 6 1/4" across side to side. 9 1/8" wide overall, 2 1/2" tall Condition: excellent" but there are probably some tiny wear or small bubbles. Due to its Antiquity. Nothing is noticeable! But we mention as this piece is 19th century and made before computer controled factories. Whatever flaws are embelishments confirming its hand made Victorian nature. Most perfect Antiques are actually Reproductions! NO chips. Cracks, flea bites or repairs- BEAUTIFUL! We cannot find a makers mark or Artist Signiture. ... moreSo we are not sure of its origin. We attribute it to Mt Washington, but we can't say for absolute sure. We have used a silver basket for display purpose only in a couple of the pictures.
