Pink Bowl/Brides Basket Insert w/Flo. Motif-ptd.&enamel - 9 7/8"diam.hand blown
This is a very pretty Vintage Pink Bowl or Brides Basket Insert Bowl with a floral design/motif. It is handblown with scalloped petal type edge and has the raised dots in a pattern around the edge of the bowl. It is creamy white in the middle area with one lavender flower in the middle and six lavender and yellow flowers around the edge. It looks like all the raised dots were painted gold at one time but most of them have rubbed off. It measures approximately 9 7/8 inches in diameter and 1 3/4 inches tall and the base that would fit in the basket measures almost 3 1/2 inches in diameter. This comes with a plate holder which is gold or brass in color.

This brides basket glass insert is not marked by any manufacturer. It is a dark pink edge going to a light pink and then white on the inside with a thin clear edge. The back is mostly white. The edge is a ruffled and crimped style. This is a very thin and fragile glass brides basket insert. It looks to have been hand made with a smoothing grind mark on the base where a hand blown pontil mark would have been. The basket measures 10 1/2" in diameter across the widest part of the ruffles by 8 1/2" across the narrowest part. The base measures 2 7/8" wide in diameter and sits up about 3/8" high. The basket measures 3 3/4" tall at the highest point. The basket is in excellent condition. I have gone over the edge with my hand and eyes and there is no damage. I think this may be an insert to one of those Victorian quadruple silver plate pieces. Maybe a brides basket insert? Super condition. The base has a gentle sloping"shoulder" that's why I think it fit into a piece) The top of the shoulder measures aprox. 3" and tapers to aprox. 2 5/8" The top rim measures aprox. 5 1/8" diameter and the dish stands a teeny over 2 5/8" high.
