ANTIQUE BRIDES BASKET HAND BLOWN GLASS
Lovely Large Hand Blown Glass Brides Basket in a nice Shaded Pink/Rose and White color. The Center inside has a small partial round ring mark where I apparantly had set something a long time ago but not very noticeable but want to mention it and I find NO cracks. There are NO chips on the glass and it is hand crimped on the edge with a clear edge finish(see photo) It has a nice ground pontil which I have also tried to show in the photos. I have no idea what the metal is of this basket holder and there are no markings. I did some polishing on it as it has been packed for quite some time and some polish's nicely and other shows wear so I decided to leave it as is. It is ornate. Shaded Blue Opaline Opalescent Enameled Victorian Blown Glass Brides Bowl Basket
This is a lovely piece of Victorian art glass. I believe it is a bride's bowl or the insert to a small bride's basket. It is in opaline or opalescent glass that is mostly opaque white in the center. But then shades to a very blue and transparent edge treatment. The inside of this bowl has a lot of the blue especially out close to the pure blue edge, but the outside or bottom is mostly just pure white until you reach the transparent blue edge. It is hand decorated in an enameled floral design and has an image of a walking couple in the very center. That image has suffered a lot of wear and is a little faint, but you can still make out the very old attire of the man. His clothing actually looks older that Victorian. It looks more like Colonial American era, so this piece was probably made in the late 19th century and was designed to ... morework on their romantic nostalgia for earlier times. The bowl measures about 6" across and is about 2 3/4" high. It is a blown piece of glass, and has a pontil on bottom. It has a stepped foot with straight sides, and I think was meant to fit down into the silver-plate ring of a Basket. i wish I had the metal part too, but the glass insert is all I have. It is in excellent condition. I picked up several pieces of nice Victorian art glass lately from the home of a dealer. I am selling them in other auctions. You should look at them too.

Teal Green 18 Rib American Blown Glass Bowl c1880
This lovely bowl is functional as well as decorative. The reliable source from whom I bought it described it as teal green blown glass. Likely made by a midwestern glass factory in the late 1800s. It has 18 ribs, is 2 3/4" tall and 3 1/2" in diameter, and is in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks, flakes, hairlines or grinding. The underside of the base has a large polished pontil.

Tri-cornered rim is unevenly pulled and pinched-one side is a bit longer. Almost creating a handled effect-definitely handmade. The ruffled rim is turned in at intervals. Along the bottom, encircling the rough pontil, is a hand-applied rigaree design shaped into 5 distinct scalloped feet done in canary yellow Vaseline-picture 6 shows the neon glow when lit with a blacklight. Also visible in the pictures are dark specks inside the bowl-these are flaws in the glass where dirt got into the mold while it was being blown. While not too attractive, ... moreit's actually common and can distinguish antique glass from newer items. The body appears white in the pictures, but that's mostly due to the flash. This is a beautiful set that my Mother's cousin received as a wedding gift. She was married in the 30's. It was wrapped in news print with the date of 1956. It is in very good condition with the exception of a small chip on the inside rim of the bowl. The set appears to be hand blown glass and is a beautiful Amber Color. Comes with 11 perfect glasses. The design is very unique. Unfortunately the ladle was broken. But the pieces fit together perfectly and could be glued for display, see the pictures. This is a small punch bowl 8 inches tall. The pontil is rather small. There is a thin applied foot ring and several ribs that are molded into the glass(not applied) coming up from the bottom on the outside of the bowl. Above the vertical"ribs" there is another thin applied ring. When I purchased this bowl. It had a"South Jersey" label on it but I am far from an expert in early glass so please ask any questions that aren't covered by my photos or description. Underplates are about 6 3/8" in diameter. The bowls are like a four leaf clover shape and the underplates have 8 scallops. The best I can tell. They are older blown glass. They have a faint iridescence and beautiful gold details. They are unmarked. They definitely have age to them. My best guess would be very late 19th century or early 20th century up to around the 1930s or so. Origin unknown. Possibly Venetian glass. I am not a glass expert. If exact age and origin matter to you, please do your own research. CONDITION: Antique item of a fragile nature. They look perfect when you first see them. There are two sizes of bowls in this set: ten of the smaller size and five of the larger size. All of the bowls are exceptionally deep. Especially for cut glass. Each bowl is nicely cut with a wreath of leaves around the rim. The smaller size bowls have a polished pontil mark on the underside, while the larger bowls are cut with a large sunburst design. The bowls are very well made. I can find no markings on these bowls. One of the large bowls has a substantial chip to the rim. And one of the smaller bowls has a small chip to the rim as well. We have shown these chips in the photographs. Otherwise, the condition is excellent. There are no chips, no cracks, no ... morebreaks, and no repairs. Antique hand blown clear glass bowl with pink and white opaque chips
Antique hand blown glass bowl. Although it is made up of opaque white and pink splotches of glass swirled in a transparent base. The over all impression is that the bowl is pink. It measures 8" in diameter and is 3" deep. The bottom has a low foot and appears flat in comparison to the inside of the bowl which has a raised center and has dips and raised areas. There are several bubbles imbedded in the glass and the rim has been ground, but not highly polished(is matt finish with some very tiny chips from grinding) There is a little"v" shaped impression on one side where it appears a hard tool was used to lift or turn the bowl while it was hot and being created.This bowl was passed down through at least 4 generations and is from somewhere in the 1800's from what I can find. At least the last 3 generations it has been ... morestored in a display cabinet of one type or another, so it has survived.

Antique English ca. 1880 white opaque base with very light blue to bluish turquoise and cased with a crystal trim. The vasa murrhina bowl has silver specks, somewhat polished pontil, and artist initialed. Excellent condition. No chips, nicks, or cracks. Bottom of bowl shows some wear and artist initials A.R. are fading. Measures 3 1/4" in height at highest ruffle and 7 1/2" in diameter. Lovely.

Rare Unique OLD Art Deco Candy Dish Bowl Hand Blown Glass believed to be 30s 40s
This bowl was in my grandmother's estate; we inherited it about 15 years ago. I'm afraid no one has any certifiable history on the piece. Other than the fact that my aunts and uncles all remember it being pulled out every now and then while they were growing up, for use as a candy or potpourri dish. I'm 40, so feel free to do your own age guesstimates from there. The rest of this description is simply what I can attest to with my own eyes.and it's simply intended to help folks decide for themselves the age/ history/ etc of this piece. It's 8.5" across at the top. And as perfectly round as I can tell. The square base is just barely shy of 3.5" square. The four groups of lines pressed into the sides of the bowl are NOT, however, perfect. They LOOK perfect at first glance, but upon REALLY CLOSE inspection, one can ... moretell that they don't all line up perfectly evenly along the top. This, along with the fact that the glass itself has the tiny air bubbles and tiny imperfections of a hand blown piece from the early 20th century are what help attest to the age. Everyone here believes it to be from the 30's or 40's. There are no chips and no obvious scratches on this piece. Even though we have the family history dating it back at least 60 years(that's a conservative estimate based upon everyone's memories) My grandmother was born in the 19-teens, so growing up through the depression it's no wonder that she took Extra Good Care of EVERYTHING.so it's no wonder this bowl is in such great shape. There is a single almost invisible mark on the base. Less than 3/4" long, but it's so imperceptible that it was impossible to photograph. Chances are you won't see it until you hold it up to a light.and even then you're still going to have to SEARCH for it. It's literally the only imperfection we've found on this piece.really amazing considering it all.
