This glass was produced a century ago in less than clean environments before Quality Control existed. It was cut with cold shears often producing what is commonly referred to as"straw marks" It was then hand pressed into moulds that did eventually wear out, thus lessening detail. Finally, it was hand-sprayed with metallic salts and sometimes refired for effect. Edge treatments such as ruffles, candy ribbon, pie crust or 3-in-1 were all hand shaped with various tools which often left tool marks. This listing is for a very nice antique cut glass bowl. This bowl has been completely hand painted in all of the cuts. The cuts are rose blossoms. Stems with thorns and flowers. The rim is gold. There is some wear on all of the hand painting. I have tried to show this in the pictures. Take a look. This bowl is from the late 1800s, early 1900s. Bohemian Crackle Overshot Art Glass Bowl Description: B owl with applied disc base is an exquisite center piece. Blown of colourless crystal and a chartreuse green glass with a crackle and overshot decor on the exterior. The interior of the bowl is shiny smooth. C rimped rim has a ribbon of colourless crystal along the edge. There is a applied disc on the bottom of the bowl. And the entire bottom is ground. I have two of these bowls. Both purchased at different locations. The applied base is part of the design. Not something that was added at a later date is why I mention it. Th e simplicity of the added disc is actually a smart design feature considering the rough frit and crackle could scratch various surfaces. Harr ach. Fluoresces a beautiful shade of green when black light tested. Antique Large Four Footed Green Jade Serving Bowl with Beaded Trim The shape of the 4 footed bowl reminds me of the popular pillow vases. It has a tiny tightly scalloped edge that flares out from a self beaded band that at one time must have been gilded. Then the bowls puffs out at four sides where there are four fancy feet. Also gilded with gold. The glass is extremely glossy and reflective. The bowl is in very good condition. There are a couple of manufacturer made marks at the bottom of the inside bowl as shown in photo above. Also a few tiny scratches. The bowl really looks like it was never used. I thought this was made by Hobbs and Brockunier but someone contacted me and told me I was wrong. Unfortunately they couldn't tell me who made made it. So I went searching and have found a couple that look just like this except in cranberry and they are attributed to the New England Glass Company. It is a Inverted Tumbprint Finger Bowl, circa 1880-1900 and is a sort of an aqua or blue green color. It is 2 3/4" tall and 4 1/2" across the top. There are a couple small air bubbles but no other damage, top is ground smooth. On the bottom there is a criss cross mark lightly drawn and a small swirl. Please look at the pictures. They are part of the description. All sales are final unless I have grossly misrepresented and item. The pontil is rather small. There is a thin applied foot ring and several ribs that are molded into the glass(not applied) coming up from the bottom on the outside of the bowl. Above the vertical"ribs" there is another thin applied ring. When I purchased this bowl. It had a"South Jersey" label on it but I am far from an expert in early glass so please ask any questions that aren't covered by my photos or description. There is age-appropriate drag wear to the base. I am not sure of the maker. Possibly Stevens& Williams( The underplate measures about 6 1/4" across and about 1 1/2" tall at highest point. Bowl measures about 6 1/8" by 4 7/8" and about 2 1/2" tall at highest point. Both pieces are in excellent condition. There is a small flake to the threading on the base of the bowl(see photo) There is a small area on the side of the bowl which has some minor irregularity in the making as well as a few tiny flakes(see photo) There are no other chips or cracks. Both pieces have gold edging. There is some rubbing to ... moregold but it is mostly intact. Both pieces have ground and polished pontils. I don't see any maker's mark. Measures 4-3/4" tall by 11" diameter, the base 3-5/8" diameter. Glass without chips or cracks, enamels unworn, the gilting is worn from the interior, not worn from exterior.

Offered is this glass scallop or ruffle-edged Victorian wedding basket or bowl. The bowl is unpainted satin with yellow dots around the ruffled edges. Gr adually lightening from dark to light green until it is nearly clear in the center. There is a floral or scroll design in white and yellow on the insides and center. The bowl sits approx. 4-1/4" high and is 12"across from point to point. Varying a bit depending on which set of points is measured. It is in excellent condition. With no chips, cracks or scratches.
