There are no florals on this piece. There is a clear space between the top of the design and the toothed rim. The stem is great. It has a series of 1/2" dia dots alternating around& down the length of the stem. The 4" dia base has a 24 point miter cut star(not a hobstar) Issues: One tooth is chipped. The outer surfaces of the beveled teeth have tiny nicks. There are surface rubs or scratches on the underside of the base. I have not been able to locate a signature. BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE ABP? AMERICAN BRILLIANT PERIOD CUT GLASS BOWL. THIS WONDERFUL BOWL WAS AN ESTATE PIECE. THE COLLECTOR WAS A MEMBER OF THE ABP CLUB. THIS BEAUTIFUL BOWL HAS GREAT DEEP CUTS AND IS VERY CLEAR AND BRILLIANT. THE PICTURES DO NOT DO THIS PIECE JUSTICE. THIS GREAT BOWL MEASURES 8" WIDE AND 4" TALL. THIS IS A VERY SYMMETRIC BOWL WITH CROSSES AT THE TOP. SEPARATED BY A BORDER WITH 4 FLOWERS AND LEAVES WITH STEMS. THE BOTTOM MATCHES THE TOP IN DECOR. I DID NOT SEE ANY MARKING OR MAKERS MARK ON THIS BOWL. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS PIECE IS VERY SIMILAR TO A PAIRPOINT PIECE, BUT I DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT CRYSTAL. But I don't have a reference around to tell me exactly what they are, so please examine the pictures and determine it for yourself. For your consideration is this beautiful antique flaring trumpet cut crystal vase. This stunning piece measures approx. 11 3/4" high x 7 1/4" wide at the top and approx 4 1/2' bottom diameter. The highly detailed cuts are amazing and the piece weighs over 3 pounds. My research indicates that this piece is from the American Brilliant period but I can find no markings which is common for the earlier pieces. It was manufactured by the Imperial Glass Company during the American Brilliant Period(ABP) and ... morethe interior base has the relief moulded"Nucut" maker's mark which was used between 1911& 1932(see photograph 7) The bowl has been pressed with a pattern known as"Hexagon& Cane" 502) and dates back to 1912 ~ over a 101 years ago! The"Nucut" line is a form of imitation cut glass introduced by Imperial in 1911, which signified a variation in the Company's pressed glass manufacture. It was more defined, with edges& points becoming sharper, thereby imitating cut glass much more closely and then there is the'brilliant' sparkle! This was indeed a remarkable achievement, so obvious when viewing the depth, detail& precision of the moulding. An irregularly scalloped, sawtooth rim is the perfect finishing touch to this majestic serving piece ~ such incredible grandeur! A pear has been included in photograph 8 for the purpose of perspective. An opulent serving piece for your dining table and with so much tradition. This cut glass bowl is unsigned. But is definitely from one of the premiere cutting houses of the American Brilliant period. The sides of the bowl have three deeply cut rosettes surrounded by beaded blaze and fan cuts.absolutely amazing in that they resemble large sunflowers. Each'flower' is separated by twisted mitre cuts with crosshatch, cane and single star cuts inside that pick up and reflect light at every turn. The mitred cuts end in fan cuts. There are three missing or chipped teeth at top, but no other chips, cracks or damage. Rings like a bell when tapped! Measures 9.25" across and 4" high. It must be fairly rare I would think. The Bowl features really superb ABP cut designs throughout, much nicer than my photos show and the piece is very heavy indeed, again showing the excellent quality. The Bowl is also in very fine all original condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The Bowl is also a nice size for display or serving measuring 5-3/4" tall by 7" wide across the handles or 3-3/4" wide across the top opening. The Compote is one of the finer pieces I have sold with nice deep cutting on a heavy thick blank and great sawtooth top border. I could not see any markings but the quality is quite good. The Bowl is in excellent all original condition with no chips. Cracks or repairs, maybe just a couple fleabites I did not see, there always seems to be something on these pieces. Butter Dishes have always been one of my favorite forms of ABP Cut Glass and I seldom find them in any collection. This beauty features very nice deep. Sharp cut designs on a clear colorless blank resulting in a piece which I am sure any collector will be proud to display in their collection. The Butter Dish lid is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs, the base plate does have several chips around the edge but I think this shows character and that the piece was used and enjoyed. The Butter Dish would add some real sparkle to your dining table and is a nice size for modern use measuring 7-3/4" wide across the base plate or 5" wide across the lid by 6" tall overall.
