Description: This is a masterfully constructed dress that is handsewn in a sturdy cotton twill trimmed with gorgeous delicate lace with a patterned silk( bodice. Neck and waist. The inside of the hem and the lining are edged in velvet. The bodice is boned and the closure is hook-and-eye. The pleated neck is trimmed with a self-ruffle and bow. The waist is also accented with a band of the same fabric and a bow in the back. Note the pleating details in the center back of the bodice and more in the skirt(to accommodate a bustle) The dress is a museum de-acquisition and proceeds will go to support that institution. Size: The waist of the bodice is 26" Across the back underarms measures 14" Doubled that would make the bust 28" but the style of this bodice allows for a few more inches in bust size. The length of the center back of the bodice is 16 1/2" The skirt waist measures 20" but as you can see in the photos. Someone had added a somewhat makeshift extension to that. The center front of the skirt is 40" long from the waist. Age: Period Original. Late 1800s. Condition Report: Very good but the dress does have a few issues. There is some torn lace(mostly at the edge of one sleeve) There are also some rust/age spots and a few tiny pinholes in the twill fabric. There is some tearing along the hem of the lining and the velvet bands along the interior hems is stained and has a few holes that are visible only on the inside of the dress. First the measurements: The beautiful ruffled bowl is 8-10 in it's undulations. The metal frame is approximately 9 1/2 wide and 11 1/2 high. I see no flaws in the bowl, no chips, cracks. The frame is in great condition no repairs or blemishes, although there is pitting on base, the part that is covered by the ruffled bowl. The hallmark is clear and it has an engraved number on the bottom. The ingraining on the base is exquisite. The cased glass edge is white and has a wonderful double ruffle that makes the rounded edges in a box form ruffle. This piece is in excellant condtion. Large Ruffled Edge Handpainted Victorian Glass Bowl
This is a large. Ruffled glass bowl that was handpainted by a very talented Victorian era woman. It measures 9 1/2" around and stands 6 1/4" tall. The interior is a beautiful deep cranberry color while the exterior is a very pale yellow which has been painted, all around, with pink and blue flowers and green leaves. The front exhibits an unusual ribbon design in blue and an irridescent cranberry with white flowers. The bowl has no cracks but, there are 2 chips. One is on one of the ruffles as you can see in the photo. The other is on the base which has about 1/2" with no glaze, as though it was nestled in a holder of some sort like a brides basket. This is an original Victorian-era Bride's Basket measuring about 11" diameter and 4" tall. Originally designed to be held inside a goldtone metal handled frame. It would have held flowers for the bride to carry flowers. This coloring is from a cranberry to pink. This is a hand-blown piece with a ground pontil. Regarding condition: There are two rim chips that you cannot find without feeling for them. They are extremely minor. There are no other chips. Cracks, breaks, or wear. There are the typical maker's imperfections, such as air bubbles, overlay separations. Again, these are hand-blown, and each piece is unique to the Victorian-era maker. Needs washing. This piece would work well with the addition of a flower frog in the center to hold cut flowers or an artificial arrangement or to hold fruit. Measuring 2½" highest height x 6" shortest dia. x 6½" widest near-flattened dia. This either European or American UV-sensitive art glass bowl is free of chips, cracks, or wear. There is age-appropriate drag wear to the base. The single issue of note is a lightly oxidized annealing line or strawmark on the bowl's front up from the central deep bowl section within a dual-ruffled area, shown. This should not be considered damage; as the separation line was done in the making. The light discoloration is post-production. It consists of cased glass. White on the bottom and a soft blue with hues of violet throughout on top. Lovely Victorian Enameled Cranberry Glass Brides Bowl W/ Ruffled & Crimped Rim
Description Offered at auction is a gorgeous Victorian enameled cranberry glass bride's bowl which measures 10" in diameter and is 5" tall. The bottom rim which would fit in a basket is 4" in diameter and over 1/2" deep. The glass has light thumbprint patterning and a ruffled and crimped rim. The sides are decorated with heavily enameled flowers. Branches, leaves and stems in green, pink, lavender, white, yellow, orange and brown. There are also gold leaves and stems. The bowl has a ground base. It is in very nice condition with no cracks or noticeable chips. It has one small(less than 1.4" flake on the bottom side of one ruffle. The enameling has no losses. But there is loss on the gilded trim. The bowl looks fabulous as it stands, but would also look super in a bride's basket frame. Thanks for looking.

The glass is a gorgeous pink cranberry color. And the frill edge is clear. The bowl has a pontil mark on the base. It is a very old and unique bowl. Size: 6 3/8"d X 2 3/8"h- approx. dimensions Quantity: 1- Bowl Condition: VERY GOOD- it has shallow nicks and dings to the top lip. The lip is polished and has a slight scalloped inside edge. There is a little roughness when I run my finger around that. It seems all the damage is contained to the top lip. The rest of the bowl looks very good. I always pack items carefully and am happy to combine shipping. When possible and refund difference in costs after packing. I list items that are in great, usable condition. This bid is for. What I think, is an insert from a Victorian Bride’s Basket. The basket is a light blue opalescent with a swirled bottom. The edges are ruffled and the sides are in a diamond shape pattern. There are some black specks on the glass and I don’t know what they are. I’m not sure if that’s part of the glass. There is a bubble or a dent in the glass at the bottom. There are no chips or cracks. The bowl is approx. 3 ¾” high and approx. 7 ¼” across at the top. This piece is very unique and the hawk(bird of prey) in the center is handpainted and lovely. We've research this piece and have spoken with friends who are knowledgeable. And we came back to wondering if this piece would have been used like a Victorian Brides Basket with the ruffled glass liner? There is a pontil on the backside of the bowl. Although the dip in the bowl is not as pronounced and as defined as we see other Brides Basket liners. There is not a signature. The bottom edge of the bowl appears to have been repaired? You'll see how the ruffle was pulled forward with the very bottom of the rock being flat. Maybe damage took place and a portion of the ruffled edge was removed to save this piece? All this said. We ... moreinitially wondered if it was some type of lamp reflector with the base purposely being made this way. If you have any information. Please share. Either way, you can purchase this lovely piece and it can be yours for display. It's very unique and the handpainted bird is beautiful. PERFECT as is. No chips. Cracks, crazing or stains. The painting is perfect. In the photo it may appear that there are white chips off the hawk's neck and wing. It's actually white paint. There is one very miniscule spot on the brown rock where it appears paint came off, however, we believe that this probably happened very early on due to a paint dolop being so pronounced. Antique Victorian cranberry ruffled edge glass bowl or dish late 19th century
My great grandmother was an antiques dealer in the Pacific Northwest for many decades. She passed away back in the 1980's but I am only now getting into the many boxes of treasures she left behind. In the hopes of finding new homes for her wonderful collections. She had several lovely old Victorian vanity tables. And one of the things she liked to collect were old perfume bottles to display on her vanities, as well as rouge pots, silver dresser sets, etc. She also had a great quantity of art glass items on display. I do not know anything about identifying or dating these items. I am going to list them as I unpack them. I know Granny had a good eye. And I'm going to trust that other collectors out there have good eyes, as well. If you can help me in dating these in order to improve my listings, I would be grateful. You are bidding ... moreon a lovely cranberry glass dish- used for candy or compote. Perhaps? I believe it is Victorian. It has a ruffled edge and tiny light yellow dots painted on to give a look of gold decoration. It measures just under 6" across. I can see no serious condition issues with this piece- there is some very slight surface wear if you hold it up to the light, and in the inner part of the"folds" of the ruffles there is some crackling of the glass, but this may be original to the piece.
