Antique Opalescent Glass Bowl Crimped White Blue Crystal Bride Basket Insert
blueopalbowl Offered for sale is a most unusual opalescent glass bowl. With a double or even triple crimped edge. This is of a translucent white glass that turns gradually to shades of blue toward the edges. The final color is clear or crystal at the very edge. The bottom of this cased glass piece has a ground pontil mark, and is marked with barely legible inscribed numbers that appear to be 675. Though stable on a table by itself, the bottom foot of the bowl measures 2 1/2" in diameter and is slightly less than 1/2" deep. This suggests it may have been used as a Victorian bride's basket insert. This measures 10" in diameter and stands 3 1/4" high to the tallest point on the ruffled rim. Though it resembles old Fenton"petticoat" or crest items, this is of a more delicate weight and structure, and is indeed ... moreof an unusual color. I am offering for your consideration a gorgeous antique(1904) opalescent crimped compote bowl. This beautiful aqua blue bowl measures 9" across x 4" high. Its crimped edge is an opalescent glass blending into a clear glass base. There are four fan-shaped designs with dots on the bottom and on the square base. There are no chips but one scratch that looks as if it was there from the start. The bowl was manufactured by the Northwood Glass Company around 1900. And it is in the Chrysanthemum Base Swirl pattern which features a candy stripe swirled pattern. The bowl is quite large measuring about 8 1/2" in diameter. The bottom is footed and it stands about 2 7/8" high. Item Condition: The overall condition of the bowl is very good. It is very clean and there are no chips. Cracks, or repaired areas except for some roughness to the rim to include small flakes, knicks, fleabites, and small chips which are typical of these older glass pieces. Antique Northwood Green Opalescent Ruffled Bowl Diamond Point Fleur de Lis Beautiful Approx. 9 ½ inch ruffled bowl in the Diamond Point Fer De Lis pattern by famed American glass maker. Northwood. Circa early 1900's Irregular ruffling was created when the artisan removed the standard shaped bowl from the cast iron molds while it was still hot enough to be pliable. He then used iron rods and tongs to create the ruffles before the glass annealed(cooled and hardened) Lovely coloring and gradation to opalescent near the edges. The N in circle. Two Antique Victorian Epergne Lily Cranberry Opalescent& Clear/ Applied Trim Offered are two antique art glass epergne lilies. The clear glass jack in the pulpit style example measures 11-1/2 inches long. 4-1/4 inches wide at the top with the metal fitting on its base measuring 5/8 inches tall by 4/8 inches wide. This is not a center lily, but rather one that would go on the outside edge. Second is a center lily measuring 11-1/2 inches tall by 5-3/4 inches across the ruffled top that shades in color from dark cranberry to pink to opalescent. The frosted insert or base of the lily has a chip as shown. The base alone measures 1-1/2 inches tall by nearly one inch across.
