It's very ornate: The inside of the basket is decorated with a etched motif of flowers and leaves. The outer is fluted like a pie crust. The handle has an intricate filigree ornament in a floral and leaf motif. The bottom rim has a relief fern design. The four feet have an ornate relief scrolled design. This cake stand is in good antique condition: The silver plate appears to be intact over most of the stand; it should polish up nicely. The top of the handle might be slightly bent backward, but I do believe it was made that way. I see some scratches in the center of the basket. The handle will remain standing up if you wish. The stand measures about 9" from table top to top of handle. The basket measures 10" across at its widest. CONDITION NOTE: All of our items are vintage or antique. Hand blown, highly enameled bowl with its illustrated centerpiece is permanently set into a footed copper base with a copper leaf handle. The pontil on the bottom of the bowl dates it to the late 19 th Century. The ruffled. Double crimped rim graduates from a translucent darker green to white. Along the folds of the ruffled edge there are stripes of hobnails, both inside and outside, that add yet another decorative dimension to this beautiful bowl. Measuring 2½" highest height x 6" shortest dia. x 6½" widest near-flattened dia. This either European or American UV-sensitive art glass bowl is free of chips, cracks, or wear. There is age-appropriate drag wear to the base. The single issue of note is a lightly oxidized annealing line or strawmark on the bowl's front up from the central deep bowl section within a dual-ruffled area, shown. This should not be considered damage; as the separation line was done in the making. The light discoloration is post-production. This basket measures 12 inches high x 10 inches wide. This basket looks fantastic with vintage jewelry or vintage strawberries. Antique Victorian True Pigeon's Blood Bride's Basket/ Bride's Bowl Center Bowl/ Tazza Ornate Silverplate Frame In this Listing. Fantastic Victorian Era Bride's Basket/ Bride's Bowl in silverplate frame. Absolutely stunning bowl in the very hard to find true pigeon's blood color- not ruby. Not cranberry, but a vibrant luminescent transparent pure golden red. Seldom does a piece of undecorated single color glass in such a basic shape as a ruffled bowl command the attention this color does! The pontil mark and the entire bottom of the bowl has been finely ground and polished- another sign of a quality glass house. Proudly holding the bowl aloft is a pedestal type silverplate frame. Four scrolling supports extend from the gently sloped dome base to hold an inverted conical basket into which the bowl resides. A pierced ... moreband of metal serves as the actual bowl holder and another section of the same metalwork compliments the bottom of the pedestal. Four tiny ornate scrolling feet hold the entire piece approximately 7/8" off the tabletop. Marked on the underside with the Queen City Silver Co. Cin'ti, O. Cincinnati, Ohio) logo. c.1888-1910 Assembled. The pieces measure approximately 11-7/8" high. Antique Victorian period bride basket with original insert bowl, circa 1895
This gorgeous bride basket is truly an antique. These baskets dating from 1890-1915 approximately. This particular one dates to around 1895, the silverplate holder is signed by the maker Barbour Silver Co of Conn, USA and was taken over by International Silver Co of Meriden, Conn around 1898. So it is truly an old one. The ruffled bowl has a cranberry rim that changes to semi-opalescent glass- clear glass with milky white daisy pattern. The bowl fits like a glove inside its basket, I am absolutely sure this basket and glass insert were made for one another, this was not a case of mix and match. The basket has a single wide foot that has a scrolled pattern design to its rim. This foot has 4 separate places where a monogram could be engraved, if so desired. There is no monogram on any presently. This foot measures 6 inches across. Regarding ... moreheight, from base to top of handle, it measures 12 inches. Here for sale we have a very lovely peach blow bowl with ruffled edges. The bowl sits perfectly in the center of the unusual shaped holder. It is all original from its 19th century time period. Hand blown the glass has gorgeous patina and we Attributed its maker to Webb. The basket measures 13" t x 11" w. Ca. 1880. There is a raised circle mark on the underside that is well marked. The mark is Aurora SP MFC CO. Quaduple Plate Warrented. This lovely basket has a kind of two tone Patina. It has a golden look to some areas of the silver. We have cleaned it gently and the silverplate is very nice. Our pictures try to show all the detail. This is one o those frames that has so much Victorian detail from top to bottom. The top finial is especially nice with a winged bird perched at the top. There is a fine miniature border at the base. ... moreAnd lots of Victorian Flowers. The bowl has a polished pontil. Victorian art glass bowls such as this were often paired with elaborate silver plated frames by companies such as Meriden. Wilcox, or Webster. The deep pink glass is uniform throughout the interior. Shading slightly paler at the hand-crimped edge. The underside/exterior casing is white. The crest around the rim is a pale. Clear amber, the color of dripped honey. The edges are ruffled and the sides are in a diamond shape pattern. There are some black specks on the glass and I don’t know what they are. I’m not sure if that’s part of the glass. There is a bubble or a dent in the glass at the bottom. There are no chips or cracks. The bowl is approx. 3 ¾” high and approx. 7 ¼” across at the top. Fancy Antique Victorian Large Bride's Basket/Bowl Cranberry Glass, floral 12"
Here is a gorgeous. Cranberry, extra large Victorian 12” diameter antique Brides Bowl from late 1880s. What makes this one so special is the intense coloring that is more cranberry when most are just deep pink. This one has a gorgeous Victorian enameled pattern of delicate floral sprays. All of the enameling is there and not worn. Bowl is in very good condition. The cranberry part is a good 1 3/4” into the design, and the back is white with a clear edge. Victorian Glass Pink & White Bride's Basket Bowl Spangled Crimped Clear Crest
Offering a Victorian Glass Cased Pink and White Bride's Basket Bowl(no stand) that is Spangled and has a Clear Crest. This large bowl is probably from the 1880's-1900 and. As typical, has no manufacturing marks to indicate maker or country of origin. The outside is white with the inner bowl shading darker to lighter pink and then white. The top is crimped with 8 large crimps and 2 smaller crimps between them. The rim has a clear crest. The inner bowl is silver color spangled. The bottom is white with a ground pontil. Lightly tapped gives a lead crystal type ring. Size is about 3.5" high x about 9.25" at widest across top x about 5" across base. There is a small brown. Raised spot in the glass on one outer side. This was probably a piece of sand or grit during the manufacturing process. It in no way detracts from the ... morebeauty or integrity of the bowl and was part of the manufacturing process. In answer to a question- had my husband measure it and he says the basket base is approximately 4.5 inches wide by 6 inches in length(if you measure from the furthest tip of the leaf on the handle the width would be 6 inches from leaf tip to leaf tip) I am not an expert but I would say it has a rough pontil which is were they look to have removed the tool for molding the glass and it has not been polished smooth. No chips. Cracks, I am not sure what shadow you are referring to.

Offered for sale is a beautiful Cased glass. Hand Enameled, Brides Basket Bowl insert. Painted in a Oriental, Japanese style. The bowl glass casing is a beautiful deep pink rose colored glass with a white glass outside. see pictures for close ups) The decoration art work on the outside of the bowl is wonderfully done in the colors of blue. Green, pink, yellow, peach all outlined in gold. These were popular gifts for brides during this time and are now commonly known as"Bride’s Baskets. This Victorian ruffled Yellow/Gold Bride's Basket is 10 3/4" w x 3.5" h and in great condition. Handmade of high quality cased glass with ruffled edges and yellow, pink& gold tones, the center is a pretty yellow and fades out to cream then pink with gold luster finish. Gorgeous Antique Victorian Brass Figural Bride's Basket Center Bowl Rubina Verde
This auction is for a stunning Victorian bride's basket or center bowl. It pairs a figural brass base with a richly colored rubina verde bowl. The interior of the bowl is a deep vaseline color at the center with blood red ruffles and a pearly white exterior. The base is brass(some parts look very gold. So this may originally have been gilded) Three storks perch on balls with their wings stretched up and out behind them. Each holds a chain garland under their beak. The base has three feet with beaded, embossed art nouveau designs. There is no maker's mark, but if you look closely inside each foot, there is a tiny English registry mark. There is one chipped ruffle as shown, but the bowl is otherwise in good condition. The base has age-appropriate patina and a slight tilt visible in some pictures but no evidence of damage or repair. ... moreThe bowl fits very snugly into the collar. Measures 10 1/2" tall when assembled. The bowl alone measures 9 3/4" in diameter and the base alone measures 7 1/4" tall.
