This is an amazing piano stool from the Victorian Era. A time period characterized by incredible ornamentation and attention to detail. It is a whopping 26" tall, 14.5" side-to-side and 14.5" front-to-back. This piano stool has claw feet, an intricate bottom support system of pillars and legs, and a swivel seat with a raised 10" backing for comfort. The seat swivels perfectly with no issues. The gap beneath the seat and the rest of the piano stool(where the swivel mechanism is) shows some glue work to secure the seat to the rest of the stool, and in no way interferes with the swivel mechanism. It is only visible when one turns the stool on its side and looks inside the gap; otherwise, it cannot be noticed. This is an ornate antique Victorian adjustable piano/ organ/ harp stool. The stool is in great condition and appears to retain its original mahogany finish. It is made of solid wood that is stained mahogany. It has metal claw and clear glass ball feet. The glass balls are not cracked and the legs and base are ornately turned. The seat is covered with padding and red velvet. The cloth is not ripped or torn. But has some light stains. There is some light wear and scratches from use on the wood, and the legs are a little loose, but could easily be re-glued. There is a white cloth wrapped around the adjustment screw in the seat to keep it from squeaking as much when it turns. The round piece of wood under the seat has been re-glued as seen in the photos. RARE Antique VICTORIAN Era GOUT Footstool Foot Stool Rest 1800's Vintage Wooden
WOODENDECOR10 Presents A Victorian Era GOUT Footstool This item ships FREE FedEx Ground in the Continental U.S. This is an authentic Victorian Era GOUT footstool from the mid 1800's to the beginning of the 1900's. Its rare design was purposed for gentlemen with means as a way to relieve the pain of gout by lifting the foot at the ankle while not touching the foot. It is made of solid wood(I believe it to be walnut) With two handles on either end for easy positioning so as not to touch the foot, four carved wooden legs, and a straw padded tapestry or rug covered body. Here, this rust toned rug is edged with ornate trim and round tacks. I can not say whether it is the original rug or not though it certainly coincides with the time period. There is relatively minor wear on this piece for its age with some varnish wear, what looks like ... morelathe holes in the ends of the handles, some wear on the bottoms of the legs, and a superficial crack in the base that is not deep nor does it compromise the structure or stability of the footstool. Its as sturdy as ready to use today as it was over a hundred years ago. The rug is still in good shape, all tacks are present, and trim is in great condition. The footstool is a great historical piece for the collector with an interesting medical background. Similar pieces have sold for up to $250.00 in the past few months. I have up for sale a wonderful circa late 1800s Victorian Era Fancy Cast Iron Base Footstool. The castings are ornate and the paint appears to be the old original. The stool measures approx 14" square on the base. Approx 12" square on the top. The upholstery is older, I do not think it is the original but its older. It should be reupholstered and repadded. It has a scalloped top. And measures approx 14" x 14" x 7-1/4" tall and weighs about 9 lbs 10 ounces as you see it. The 14" is the base measurement, the top upholstered part is approx 12" across. The fancy cast base is quite beautiful. The paint appears to be original. Its with out question very old. The cast iron is in excellent shape, I notice one small crack, that has a repair on the back. This is a subtle crack that is only noticed when viewing with ... morescrutiny. My last few pics show the crack. In summation, this is an extremely minor imperfection and does not in any way compromise the structural integrity. Antique Victorian Foot Stool,Walnut, Unique "Dog" Shape, Coffin Kneeling Stool
Up for auction one antique Victorian foot stool. This stool is an unusual design. Looks like a dog or some other animal in a kneeling position, head down, butt up. It is slanted forward and has a rolled part at the bottom to rest your heels on. There are three large protruding wood dowels on each side of the stool. The sides of the stool are joined together by means of wood slats which have than been covered with carpet. This carpet is not original to the stool. The stool measures 14-1/2 inches long, 11-1/2 inches wide, 7 inches high at the back and 5 inches high at the front. It weighs 4-1/2 pounds. There has been some repair work done on the stool, two of the slats have been replaced. This does not show under the carpet. Other than that it is nice and sturdy. On Feb-05-14 at 16:47:39 PST. Antique victoroian walnut foot/gout stool. It is carved on both sides with a raised scroll ending in a bellflower. The four feet have raised ribbing. It measures 13" long. 11" across, and 8" high at the tallest point. The needlepoint is original. The binding around the needlepoint is all there, but in some part it is stiff to the touch from age. ITALIAN MID to LATE 19th CENTURY. AS IS NEEDS A FAIRLY MINOR RESTORATION The end of one stretcher has been split. And lost a small piece of wood with no carving on its surface, which measures around 1 by 1/4 by 1/16 inches. See images& details near end of listing. GREAT PATINA/ORIGINAL FINISH. Offered is a very fine old(mid- to late-19th Century) Rococo-style Italian footstool. Approximately 15 by 12 by 9 inches. It weighs about 3 pounds, 5 ounces(1502 grams) Above is visible a very minor/wanna-be crack below and to the right of the blossom. Also visible in the following and my first images. I believe it's walnut. But my expertise regarding wood ... moreis quite limited, so. Poor placement of above nails does not show that the center one is substantially shorter than the other two; suggesting a hand-finished process? The above and two following images show the only notable flaw. The one I mentioned at the start of this listing. Note that the hand-carved pin is flawless. The split is quite clean, and the small section of lost wood has a flat, fully un-carved surface. CONDITION VERY GOOD PLUS, WITH ONE NOTEWORTHY FLAW, as clearly shown& described in 4th. 5th& 6th above pictures. Apparently should be disassembled& re-glued. But the original finish& patina should be fully salvageable if desired. One notable but fairly easily restorable flaw notwithstanding.
