Vintage Antique Signed Piano Organ Stool Adjustable Claw and Glass Ball Feet
For your consideration is a nice maple wood piano stool. The stool is marked"TONK CHICAGO NEW YORK" on the cast iron threaded seat support. The stool is very solid and adjust in height from 19 1/2" 25" and has a 14 1/2" diameter seat. The glass balls on the feet are free of anh cracks and chips. The stool has had the seat reglued and overall refinished at some point in its past and surfaces have a smooth sealed finish. There is a color variation on the base of the stool. Almost looks like shadowing in the finish, not sure what it is but it does look nice. I took lots of pictures of different sides so you can see. I have wiped the stool down and given it a hand rubbed wax finish, so it is ready to use. This item is estate fresh and ready for a new home. This has been relaquered or varnished and repaired sometime in it's life. The repair is to the top board under the seat that the legs attach to. It looks like it was cracked and glued there and then some extra braces put on it to increase the strength. It feels sound and solid and easily held my 300 lbs and you should have no problems with it. They are on the underside so do not show in use. I saw no other damage and everything is tight and sound. Up for your viewing and bidding pleasure are 4 Old Style Piano Claw Feet& Glass Ball Legs with Metal Screw Stool Hardware. With these items you can either repair an old 1900s piano adjustable stool or you can make one yourself. The stool was broken so I cut off the legs and removed the hardware. All are in great condition for their age and all you have to do is remove the screws that attach the metal designed legs to the wood and you’re ready to add them to a stool or make one yourself. The metal legs are 4 inches long and the stool metal base is 5 2/8 inches square. The threaded piece that goes into the base unit is about 7 ½ inches long x about 1 ¼ inches in diameter. Wonderful wear to the top wood from years of loving use, though it looks like it has been reshelacked by an amateur, as you see some swirls in the stains. It spin adjusts from a low of 18" to a height of 24" It measures approx. 19 1/2" across, with the seat approx. 14 1/2" across. Antique H D Bentley Piano Organ Stool UNIQUE Glass Ball & Claw Head Feet Chicago
Up for auction is beautiful antique Victorian adjustable piano/ organ stool. This stool dates from the late 1800's and was made by the HD Bentley company. The company was founded in 1879 in Freeport. IL, and began offering over 60 styles of stools from their"new" factory on E. Van Buren Street in Chicago in May of 1893. Signed with iron nameplate: H.D. Bentley Freeport Chicago The wooden stool has nice turned legs. Wonderful feet with glass marble balls and a unique dragon/ head claw shape. The glass is visible trough the two eyes and at the base. The piece is 19" high(lowest position) and adjusts to 24" high. And measures 14" at the base and the seat is about 14 1/4" wide. See enlarged photos for condition. Seat swivels easily- although makes a little noise. There are no cracks or large chips in the wood. ... moreAll pieces are original and solid. The feet are intact. The base is 15" tall, the height is 19- 25 inches This antique 19th century American Chas Parker Co. adjustable fumed oak piano stool is in excellent condition overall. The glass ball feet are not exactly claws. More like a porthole or eye design which is very unique. If you look carefully you might notice minor wear to the seat top and the glass balls show some typical wear and minor chips on the underside. There is a screw missing from the mount seen in picture 8, someone screwed it into the bottom of the seat for safe keeping. I tried it in the hole but it just spins. I am not certain where it came from originally, but this is a very nice solid oak piano stool, with adjustable seat, lovely glass ball and claw feet, and very nice design. It has very minor wear from age as we were not allowed to sit or play on it. I searched for a name or maker and only could find an incised number in the bottom of the top of the stool. This is an old antique piano or organ stool likely from the 1880s. It has writing that says"So. Acton Mass. and"A. Merriam Co. It is in extremely good condition. I really do not see any significant flaws on it at all. It works just fine. It also separates and reassembles easily. It really is a well kept and preserved piece. I don't see any refinishing and looks to be original wood. It has glass balls clutched by metal eagle claws at the bottoms of its 4 legs. See pictures for additional information. This gorgeous old adjustable swivel seat piano bench was made by Tonk(Chicago& New York) and it is in superb condition. The seat has a coule of splits in the wood and the original finish has worn off to some degree. As it was sat on for at least 100 years. The finish to the rest of the wood is original with a great'alligatored' appearence. The brass claw and glass ball feet are also in fantastic condition. The seat measures 14 5/8" across and sits(more or less) 20" from floor. Shipping includes tracking.

The seat and base are solid. It spins up and down nicely and the glass ball feet look great. The wood seat shows age and use. There are minor scratch/swirl marks on top. I have up for sale a drop dead gorgeous vintage/ antique circa late 1800s to early 1900s Victorian Era Mahogany Original Finish Adjustable Height Swivel Seat Piano Stool. The design of this example is just that much nicer than most others- it has a fluted center pedestal section with matching fluted splayed legs- cast iron claw feet/Eagle Talon Claws with glass ball centers. The stool is very strong and sturdy. It weighs approx 16 lbs as you see it, and in its lowest position stands approx 18" tall. The seat measures approx 13-3/4" diameter. There is no maker marks but it is quite possible that it was made by Holtzman& Sons- Columbus. Ohio. It is in Very Good Original Condition- please view all pics and read the above condition report. Metal claw and glass ball feet, rope turnings on the legs and stretcher. Seat adjusts from a low 19" to a height of 23" Seat diameter is 14" There are many coats of finish on the stool- so many that I am not sure what type of wood this is- the grain on the underside of the seat looks like walnut. The top section of the seat shows two narrow separations where the boards were laminated caused by wood shrinkage over the past 150 or so years, one of the crystal glass balls has a chip out. Very sturdy- very Victorian. A great side table or plant stand too. This A. Merriam& Co. stool is in beautiful condition with little to no signs of wear. All fittings are solid and it has a gorgeous finish from the top of the seat to the end of the spindles. The glass ball feet are being held firmly by iron talons. The cast iron cross support that the seat rests on has the words"So. Acton Mass.Massachusetts) and"A. Merriam& Co" embossed across them. This stool could be used practically or kept in the home as a display piece. I found this being owned by a nice old New England man who kept it for only how it looked in his living room. The Chair features a curved shape crest top and a solid round adjustable seat that measures approx. 15" around.The round stool edge is finished with amazing carved detail around the entire edge.
