Cast iron stool appears to have its original dark green paint with black and gold highlights(see photos) The design of the cast iron work appears to have some Eastlake pierced open work grill design. In addition to the ornate Victorian drape effect of oak leaves and the scrollwork feet, and the flowing/swirling Art Nouveau oak leaf and vine designs. Appears to have original pine or soft wood cover top. With is covered with the original straw– the straw covered with remnants of original jute material. The jute is covered with a 1930s era cloth material. And covering this material is a worn dark forest green velvet. The wood stool top is easily recoverable if new owner should so desire. Heavy piece– weights about 16 pounds. Markings: impressed numbers“25” and“5” on underside of stool. Impressed into cast iron. Dimensions: stool measures about 17” inches diagonally(corner to opposite corner) And about 14” inches wide(x) 14” inches long(measuring at widest part of stool from outside foot to outside foot) Stands approximately 8 3/4” inches in height including wood velvet covering. I am offering an antique small round Foot Stool with a Needlepoint top. It measures approx 10" in diameter and 7-1/4" tall. It is a wood base with four cast iron curved legs. The Needlepoint is an off brown color with what looks like a basket of flowers in center. The needlepoint is tight and all in really good shpe. Not sure if all is original, but now has what looks like painted gold around wood edge of stool, on the round balls under edge between each leg, and gold on the outside of the 4 legs, black inside. Antique Machine Age Industrial Drafting Architect Wood & Cast Iron Swivel Stool
Here we have a really great late 1800s antique drafting table stool that is wood and cast iron. As you can see from photo 9 one leg has a crack in it and in photo 10 you can see an example of some cracking to the bent wood foot rest. If you look at photo 7 you will notice that only 3 of the 4 screw are the original ones but this stool is very sturdy when lowered like shown in photo 2. This stool also raises as shown in photo 5 but the seat becomes wobbly the higher that you go but the base is very solid. When at it's lowest this stool is about 30 inches tall. The foot rest is about 14 inches in diameter and the seat is about 14 1/2 inches in diameter. This item will ship FedEx ground so it can not be sent to PO Boxes. There is some minor chipping to the paint and underneath there is evidence of a gold color paint. The top in upholstered in a vintage black ground needle point with oval beige center surrounded by flowers and leaves. The center of the oval beige has a bouquet of flowers done in petit point. Footstool in in very nice condition with no breaks or repairs. Needlepoint is very nicely executed. When needlepoint was placed onto the footstool. Needlepoint carpet, that is largely worn away from use. Canvas backing is intact with black leather binding on the edges. There are two levels for stability. The frame is made of cast iron supports that cross over and fold flat. Overrall measurements are: 6" tall and 10" x 8" wide. It was purchased in Paradise, California in the 1980's. Great antique wooden and cast iron drafting stool. The factory cut on the leg rest loop came apart which is normal for these stools. Looks like the previous owner glued it and also drove a small screw up through the bottom just to insure it stays. It is very sturdy and heavy duty. October 23, 1866, Piano Stool, Dec' 10, 1867, Patent Peterboro, N.H" I'm guessing one of the dates is the'Patent Date' and the other the date of actual manufacturer. However, I'm not an antique expert so I really am guessing? It is authentic and original. Except for the wood seat which is made of plywood. Someone along the stools long history has replaced the wood seat top. All the bolts, and the wood pedestal appear to be original, including the three iron legs. I believe the legs are made of cast iron? The wood pedestal has a pretty large crack in it, so it would have to be repaired if you actually intend to use it for sitting. The wood is ... morerough, I would be rough too if I were that old. Hehe! I'm really looking for a serious buyer who can restore this beauty or leave it intact with the intent of preserving its history. The stool is only 7 1/2 inches tall and 11 inches in diameter. The cast iron legs are 5 inches tall-and the wooden base and needlepoint make up the other 2 1/2 inches. The legs have a graceful curve with a 1 1/2 inch curl at the bottom. Twelve little wooden balls adorn the bottom edge for that special victorian look. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN THREE LEGGED CAST IRON MOTIF & WOOD FOOT STEP STOOL
For your consideration is a Very Unusual Foot Stool. This Foot/Step Stool is so Unique! Made of Wood and Cast Iron. Nicely covered with a green/gold material. Three Cast Iron Legs with Green Man Motif. I believe the stool originally had four legs. I do not know the age but believe 1800s Victorian. Cover is held in place by sixteen 13/16" Wooden Pegs on bottom. Measures 13" X 9" 6 1/2" Weighs 4.31 lbs. Cast Iron legs measure 5" 3 1/2" A unique and collectible piece. Not perfect due to age. ORNATE Antique 19th C Victorian Era Cast Iron FOOT STOOL Ottoman foot rest
I have up for sale a wonderful circa late 1800s Victorian Era Fancy Cast Iron Base Footstool. The castings are ornate and the paint appears to be the old original. The stool measures approx 14" square on the base. Approx 12" square on the top. The upholstery is older, I do not think it is the original but its older. It should be reupholstered and repadded. It has a scalloped top. And measures approx 14" x 14" x 7-1/4" tall and weighs about 9 lbs 10 ounces as you see it. The 14" is the base measurement, the top upholstered part is approx 12" across. The fancy cast base is quite beautiful. The paint appears to be original. Its with out question very old. The cast iron is in excellent shape, I notice one small crack, that has a repair on the back. This is a subtle crack that is only noticed when viewing with ... morescrutiny. My last few pics show the crack. In summation, this is an extremely minor imperfection and does not in any way compromise the structural integrity.
