That said, the stool is otherwise solid and functional and looks fantastic if you like the dark, lived-in gothic look. Measures about 14 1/2" wide across the seat, 18" tall, and 18" wide from clawfoot to clawfoot.

It has had repair(pic#6) that makes it functional& sturdy so that I believe it is sturdy enough- you could use this stool. Also notice pic#14 shows a chip underneath on one leg. This stool has been about 90-99% stripped with the intention of refinishing it. The owner was a older gentleman& he just never finished the restoration. It is solid& level& adjusts as normal. Claw and ball foot hall bench has Victorian charm
Classic bench with Victorian styling would make a great accent piece in a hall or living area. The bench has four claw and ball feet and a leaf embellishment along the top. The legs are sturdy and stable. The seat has been partially reupholstered in this estate sale find. And the seat has apparently been re-stuffed, too. It is comfortable and there are no lumps or uneven places. There is a 17 1/2 inch rise to the seat. And the legs are 15 inches long. The seat is 41 1/2 inches by 18 inches. This bench has expected wear. Some worm holes and surface scratching consistent with use. Estate sale find has been partially reupholstered at least once and could use a better job. I think it looks different because the legs need a coat of polyurethane. I was going to clean it all up. However I think if I use furniture polish you wouldn't be able to see the difference in color between the top and the base. Vintage/Antique Wood Piano Stool Glass Ball Claw Foot Adjustable Chas Parker
This is a beautiful vintage wood piano stool by Chas Parker. It has light blue glass. Ball and claw feet. Two of the glass balls are completely round and the other two have a flat spot from wear. The seat is very smooth but does have a crack where the wood separated but not loose at all. There are small scratches and dings which you would expect because of age. It adjusts up and down by turning the seat. This is a beautiful piece of furniture, just needs to be polished some. Please ask any questions. I can also show more pictures if you need them.

This is an old antique piano or organ stool likely from the 1880s. It has writing that says"So. Acton Mass. and"A. Merriam Co. It is in extremely good condition. I really do not see any significant flaws on it at all. It works just fine. It also separates and reassembles easily. It really is a well kept and preserved piece. I don't see any refinishing and looks to be original wood. It has glass balls clutched by metal eagle claws at the bottoms of its 4 legs. See pictures for additional information. It has been very well taken care of and is out of an Estate. The glass balls on the feet are chipped pretty badly. Still Very sturdy and a wonderful piece. Piano stool is 19 inches tall when adjusted all the way down. I have not refinished or retouched the piece. Dowel legs look on good solid condition. Not wobbly at all. Someone toes the legs with string to he it together they way they used to to reinforce and strengthen and prevent the legs from breaking.
