Each measures nearly 32" long and each end braket measures 11 1/4" vertically. There are pine inserts which slide into place at the bottom of the holders. I have never had any with applied carvings on the inside of the end panels. The pew has been shortened from its original length and is just as it was used in the church; I have gone over it with Old English to cover over scratches from the nearly 100 years of usage. It is completely authentic and is an attractive looking piece that would look great in your family room. Entry way, on your porch or patio, in a sun room, in an office or reception area, or just about anywhere seating you would like to place them. 1 beautiful pew hand carved oak with very ornate detail. These come from Grace United Church of Christ in Covington KY prior to 1920 the church was call the German Reformed Church. The church was built in 1862 and these are the original pews. They are in mint condition and have very detailed carvings. Are slightly curved and 15 ft long each. Regretfully. I am listing my antique church pew. It came from a church in Springfield Ohio. The pew dates to the late 1800s. It is made of oak with an antique pine seat. It measures 5'6" long. It is 23 inches deep. The angle on the back is approximately 6 inches. It still has the Bible and communion inserts in the back. It is 42 inches tall. I added stained 2 x 4 bases at the bottom. The actual pew was mounted to the floor of the church. It does show some wear from where the church pews were removed at the bottom. It was a little short without the original base. That is why I added the 2 x 4 to the bottom. It is beautiful and I hate to get rid of it. I no longer have room for it. I have no place to store it over the winter. The other is a restored 4 seater. See my other auctions ITEM: This is a stunning old church pew. It is made of solid oak. It is a heavy and sturdy piece of furniture. I am unsure of the exact age of the bench. But the hardware on it appears to be quite old. These benches look great in kitchens. Dining rooms on the patio, anywhere really. This one in particular has 3 seats. All of which fold up separately. The back of the seat has 3 cubby holes that would of originally been used to hold Bibles. The seat folds up flat as well. The seat is solid wood except for some black metal parts. Each seat has metal clips that keeps the seats held up in place. This pew is in original condition ... moreand is stained in a dark colour. A water mill has stood at Huncote since the Domesday Book. It is believed that Thurlaston Brook was diverted to feed the mill. And dammed to create the mill pond and drive the water wheel, which was housed in the three storey section of the building. The water mill was converted to steam in the late 1800s. When the wheel was replaced by a steam engine, with the ground grain being used as feed for the horses at the nearby Croft Quarry. When those horses were replaced by mechanised vehicles in the 1950s, the mill finally closed. Beautiful Antique Vintage Oak Raised Panel Ends Church Pew Bench EXCELLENT Shape
For your consideration is this beautiful antique oak church pew. I bought this and several others at a church auction last summer where the church was being closed down. This pew has a very nice finish on it. The pew has a slight curvature to it but will sit straight back against a wall. The pew measures 60.5" long X 36" high. The seat height is 16" off the floor and the seat is 15" deep. The ends both have a nice raised panel gothic pattern. I am willing to ship this anywhere in the country through Greyhound for a flat fee of $225. I am also offering to most of the Midwest shipment with a blanket shipper which will deliver to your door for $250. You might have to wait several weeks for the blanket shipper but they are very reliable and I have had them deliver dozens of items over the years with no damage. DETAILS Pair of Antique Wood Church Pew Ends with Stone Crucifix Cross Inlay Oak Early 1900's This listing is for a pair of antique church pew ends. This listing includes the ends only and not the entire pew bench. These pew ends appear to be made of oak. But could possibly be another type of solid wood such as Mahogany. Each one has a stone crucifix/cross inlaid into the side. The pieces stand 32" tall and the inlaid crosses are 9.5" tall. The inlaid crosses are made of some type of carved stone or masonry and are highly decorated with flowery designs similar to an Art Noveau style. The interior of the pew ends have large grooves cut out for attaching the bench and pew back. These are great antique pieces that were salvaged from ... morea church on the south side of Chicago and we're told they date back to the early 1900's. This is a great set of pew ends for anybody with a vintage religious memorabilia collection! Condition: These are antique and used with some wear. There is some wear from use and age including some wear. Scratches, light dings, small crackling and general wear to the wood from age& use. The stone inlays have some wear with one having more wear than the other. The stone is yellowing and losing some of the sharp edge detail from age.
