There are a couple of places around the seat that the porcelain has a chip. One oak seat has a better finish than the other. I think they are in good condition for the age and could be refurbished to look very nice. They measure 25in. high with the seats on and the bottom is 24 in. tall without the seat that fits down in the hole. The base is 7 in. square and the seat is about 11 1/2in. wide. They both have a brass foot rest that slips right onto the bottom. I am showing you a picture of the foot rest and how it is made. They weigh about 28 lbs a piece. This wonderful little child's bench is rare to find. It has a marvelous shape and form and is sturdy. It is made of pine and was found in Maine. Wonderful for dolls as well. There are repairs because it is so old and some old paint still in areas. For the purist. I left it the way it is. It measures 32" long and is approximately two feet high. The seat is only about 9" deep. Shipping is $65 UPS. for east coast and mid US states and $75 for a little further. I don't exactly know until it is packed and weighed. Antique American Cherrywood Bench Circa 1840 Description: A charming little American cherrywood bench. Circa 1840. It is solid cherry with an upholstered seat, cushion and two throw pillows. The bench is 63 1/2" wide by 32" high at the back by 18" deep. Floor to seat height is 16" Condition is good overall. The bench has a nice old finish, probably original. The seat should have had some caning but it only has two layers of fabric which makes it not terribly suitable for actual sitting upon. The back rail is a bit loose as well. The bench should not be used for seating on a regular basis unless it has some work done. It IS very decorative and would be terrific as an accent piece or in a hallway. Pair of American Blue Painted Antique Bootjack Benches Settee, 19th Century
PAIR OF AMERICAN BLUE PAINTED BENCHES WITH BOOTJACK ENDS Probably late 19th or early 20th Century Item# 1407JCU25P This is a delightful example of rural production. The pair probably crafted to suit the family of the craftsman, possibly of repurposed wood during the late 19th or early 20th Century. Crafted of yellow pine, they feature a thin slat crest rail rested in a key in the stile and affixed with a single screw(some added nails) from the back, the single plank seat nailed on either side and supported on a pair of triangular blocks underneath and a horizontal apron set in a key. The stiles are single planks from the crest through the bootjack ends. The paint is early, probably at least partially original with much of the surface heavily distressed and flaking in a most attractive way. A positively charming pair of benches for anyone ... morepassionate about rustic interiors and Americana- these were acquired from the same estate as our scrubbed top American Harvest Table and would accompany it quite nicely. Measurements: 59 1/8" W x 15 3/4" D x 34 3/4" H; seat is 18 7/8" H Condition Report: Painted surface is early and worn. But we cannot be certain of it's originality or even vintage. There are at least two different applications at different dates. Surface is worn with old dirt deep in the open grains of the pine. Benches are sturdy for reasonable regular use. They are probably rural craftsmanship using repurposed parts circa the late 19th or early 20th century, as evidenced by the unnecessary bore holes in a few areas(underside of crest on one, etc. Original screws with some nail supplements on crest rail, seats and apron with later nails throughout. Antique 1800s American Folk Art Hand Painted Girl on Horse Childs Foot Stool
Fresh out of the attic of an old North of Boston farmhouse! This great childs foot stool measures about 7 3/4 front to back. 12 1/4" wide and 5 1/2" high. It shows some wear but overall the is in good condition. The legs are a little loose and to add to its charm one leg is about 1/4" shorter than the others and it does not stand evenly. Antique American Iron Piano Stool-Beautiful Design, Late1800's M.Greenwood Co.
A Wonderful Antique Iron Piano Stool. Patented in 1866 by M. Greenwood& Co. This great Iron Piano Stool is very heavy and solid. The Iron legs are painted a medium blue. There is some loss of paint on the feet. The seat is covered in a gold/yellow handmade needlepoint with a floral design. The seat is not highly colorful. However it is in relatively good condition commensurate with the age. The padding on the seat is not very thick. However it is comfortable to sit upon. There is a thread mechanism that allows the seat to rise to a different height. In its lowest position the stool is about 18 inches high the seat is 12 inches wide. RARE ANTIQUE 1900s American Piano Seat - Plains Indian Chief Etched Leather Seat
Early 1900s American Handmade Mahoghany American Piano Seat inset with native American(Sitting Bull) etched leather'tramp art' oil painting This very unusual handmade piano seat is estimated to have been made around the 1920s in the US. As it travelled back from America at that time with my great grandmother. The seat itself is fairly lightweight(around 7.5kg) and according to an antiques expert it is likely made of Spanish Mahoghany, although the elegantly curved top is early plywood. The piece of furniture is very simply handmade with plain mortice joints at the corners and feet[pictured] and a central spar to brace it. The cushioned seat however is very unusual. As a piece of"tramp art" a hand-etched leather painting in oils of a Native American chief in full headdress(who a number of knowledgeable people have told me ... moreis a young Sitting Bull) The leather painting appears to have been made on a piece of hairy hide- possibly buffalo! and the piano seat itself made to showcase it, as the picture is set into a beaded frame in the centre of the seat. This is a beautiful and very unusual piece of furniture which has been gently restored by an expert to bring out the original patina of the stain and some of the details of the leather. Which has only one piece of real damage where the leather surface has flaked away[pictured] I would like very much to sell it to someone who would make good use of it or put it on display as it is sadly wasted in my home. This auction is for an antique piano stool made by"The Charles Parker Company" of Meriden CT. I am offering this item as found. Only dusted. There are some scratches, chips and scuffs the metal claws have previously been painted a gold color, some of the paint also goes onto the glass balls. This stool is adjustable and works. Two of the claws wiggle slightly. There are screws at each of them that look like might be where you could tighten them. The top looks like it's split. But looking at it closely it appears that it was 2 pieces of wood to produce it. I don't know much about antiques so look at the pictures closely and decide for yourself. Antique 1890s-1900s American Dark Oak Wood Loveseat Settee Bench Photo Prop
This listing is for an 1890s to 1900s(pre-1910s) American made Antique Oak Wood Settee/ Loveseat Bench that was purchased by my family over 60 years ago from an elderly woman who was likely the orginal owner. It is made almost entirely of Oak. Including amazing work done to the spiral legs and support pieces. There is a center cushion/ pillow on the back that appears to have been hand sewn and depicts a wonderfully detailed scene of two men performing music for a woman. This is a notable piece of furniture in size as well as design. It's 4 feet across, with a 40 inch sitting space, the arm rests on either side extend out roughly 2 feet and from the ground to the top of the back rest is 3 feet. It sat in my Grandmother's home since that purchase up until her passing in September. It was a decor piece only. Antique American Empire Pedestal Mahogany Iron Screw Piano Stool Pillar Brass
This simple user dates from the 1830s-40s and simplified classical form with scrolled platform/feet and brass topped central column. It measures 20” tall(as pictured; it will rise another 4 inches with screw adjustment) x 15” across the feet and is crafted of tulip poplar and pine with mahogany crotch veneers. The stool is sturdy and it could uses some wedging/glue where the pillar attaches to the platform. You will note numerous old chips and losses on the feet and the top is a 1970s crimson velvet.
