Cast iron stool appears to have its original dark green paint with black and gold highlights(see photos) The design of the cast iron work appears to have some Eastlake pierced open work grill design. In addition to the ornate Victorian drape effect of oak leaves and the scrollwork feet, and the flowing/swirling Art Nouveau oak leaf and vine designs. Appears to have original pine or soft wood cover top. With is covered with the original straw– the straw covered with remnants of original jute material. The jute is covered with a 1930s era cloth material. And covering this material is a worn dark forest green velvet. The wood stool top is easily recoverable if new owner should so desire. Heavy piece– weights about 16 pounds. Markings: impressed numbers“25” and“5” on underside of stool. Impressed into cast iron. The seats are oak with the outer ... morerim of cast iron porcelain. Some of the porcelain is off of the bottom and could use some more cleaning. There are a couple of places around the seat that the porcelain has a chip. One oak seat has a better finish than the other. I think they are in good condition for the age and could be refurbished to look very nice. They measure 25in. high with the seats on and the bottom is 24 in. tall without the seat that fits down in the hole. The base is 7 in. square and the seat is about 11 1/2in. wide. They both have a brass foot rest that slips right onto the bottom. I am showing you a picture of the foot rest and how it is made. They weigh about 28 lbs a piece. This classic victorian style piano stool is very pretty. And would make a great restoration project. The bottom frame is composed of cast iron. It is beautifully engraved and features three gorgeous twisted legs that add volumes to the overall style. The seat portion appears to be made of pine. It looks as if it was just the base that a padded cushion or covering was glued to. You can see some of the left over residue from this in the pictures. The cast iron portion is in great shape, with no dents, dings or bends whatsoever. The part that adjust spins up and down quite smoothly. There is light surface rust in a few places that should be very easy to remove. It is around 18" tall, and the legs are 18" apart at there widest points. This is a very nice piece! PLEASE TAKE TIME TO REVIEW THE ADD AND ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING!

Antique Small Round Foot Stool ~ Needlepoint Top ~ Cast Iron Legs ~ 1897-1903?
I am offering an antique small round Foot Stool with a Needlepoint top. It measures approx 10" in diameter and 7-1/4" tall. It is a wood base with four cast iron curved legs. The Needlepoint is an off brown color with what looks like a basket of flowers in center. The needlepoint is tight and all in really good shpe. With a a few loose threads, could snip off, but I have left as is and I am not sure how old Needlepoint is. Not sure if all is original, but now has what looks like painted gold around wood edge of stool, on the round balls under edge between each leg, and gold on the outside of the 4 legs, black inside. Around the approx 1" edge it is worn and has knicks, pictures will show. The tacks holding in the needlepoint are the original brown color. The legs are fastened tight with screws and one must have come out at ... moresometime because a newer screw has been used on one leg, and a picture will show. It has been in my family since new and was purchased from Wormser Furn. Co. in Fresno, CA. You will see where someone wrote 1897 on back, not sure who, but Wormser Furn bult a new store in 1903. Antique Machine Age Industrial Drafting Architect Wood & Cast Iron Swivel Stool
Here we have a really great late 1800s antique drafting table stool that is wood and cast iron. As you can see from photo 9 one leg has a crack in it and in photo 10 you can see an example of some cracking to the bent wood foot rest. If you look at photo 7 you will notice that only 3 of the 4 screw are the original ones but this stool is very sturdy when lowered like shown in photo 2. This stool also raises as shown in photo 5 but the seat becomes wobbly the higher that you go but the base is very solid. When at it's lowest this stool is about 30 inches tall. The foot rest is about 14 inches in diameter and the seat is about 14 1/2 inches in diameter. This item will ship FedEx ground so it can not be sent to PO Boxes. There is some minor chipping to the paint and underneath there is evidence of a gold color paint. The top in upholstered in a vintage black ground needle point with oval beige center surrounded by flowers and leaves. The center of the oval beige has a bouquet of flowers done in petit point. Footstool in in very nice condition with no breaks or repairs. Needlepoint is very nicely executed. When needlepoint was placed onto the footstool. It's a folding stool for something(someone told me it had something to do with stagecoaches) I looked and can't find anything. It has the original carpet for a seat-it almost looks like needlepoint. It is cast iron but the braces going across are wooden. This really is a neat piece of history and hope someone will let me know what it is supposed to be. Great antique wooden and cast iron drafting stool. The factory cut on the leg rest loop came apart which is normal for these stools. Looks like the previous owner glued it and also drove a small screw up through the bottom just to insure it stays. It is very sturdy and heavy duty. The seat does swivel and turns but it does not adjust for height. Measurements are as shown in the 2nd and 3rd photo. The stool is too big to ship. Sorry. Ask any questions if needed. Offering for sale a Authentic Antique J. Briggs Piano Stool. The underside of the seat base plate has the following stamped into it's steel plate: J. Briggs. Warran, Ind. October 23, 1866, Piano Stool, Dec' 10, 1867, Patent Peterboro, N.H" I'm guessing one of the dates is the'Patent Date' and the other the date of actual manufacturer. However, I'm not an antique expert so I really am guessing? It is authentic and original. Except for the wood seat which is made of plywood. Someone along the stools long history has replaced the wood seat top. All the bolts, and the wood pedestal appear to be original, including the three iron legs. I believe the legs are made of cast iron? The wood pedestal has a pretty large crack in it, so it would have to be repaired if you actually intend to use it for sitting. The wood is ... morerough, I would be rough too if I were that old. Hehe! I'm really looking for a serious buyer who can restore this beauty or leave it intact with the intent of preserving its history. VICTORIAN LADIES UPHOLSTERED FOOT STOOL- WOOD WITH CAST IRON BRACKET FEET CIRCA LATE 1800'S EARLY 1900'S UNKNOWN MAKER MEASURES APPROXIMATELY 10 INCHES ACROSS BY 6& 3/4 INCHES TALL UNPACKAGED WEIGHT = APPROX. 3 LBS GOOD CONDITION- SEE DETAILS I purchased this stool nearly 25 years ago at an antique shop in Mansfield. OH. I was told the stool was known as a"House Crier. and were typically given as a bonus when a furniture was purchased and the"house crier" part was due to the tripping hazard they presented. Whether this is true or not, I don't know but I thought it interesting so I thought I'd pass that on with the sale of the item. This little stool is still in good shape even though it has a crack in the wood that goes from side to side on the back side that shows evidence of being glued. I looks like this ... moreis where two pieces of wood were joined when it was made but I don't know that for sure and mention it for accuracy. I bought it in this condition and have had no problems with it so I don't feel that stool's sturdiness appears compromised in anyway considering its' use is simply to raise one's feet while seated. I did notice that one leg has a different mounting bracket than the other 3 but is a perfect match otherwise to the other 3(see photo) One of the wooden ball finials is missing. Lastly I reupholstered the stool 25 years ago with a period appropriate fabric design to match a chair I had as shown in the last photo. Victorian piano stool, original tapestry seat, wood and cast iron foot stool
This is a wood and cast iron Victorian piano stool but could also be used as a foot stool. This is a Victorian original probably made sometime in the late 1800's. The base is made of solid wood with a dark stain and the seat is upholstered with either the ORIGINAL tapestry or a replacement from very near the same time period. The tapestry is that of an urn with flowers in it. And both the tapestry and the fringe are in great, usable shape. Such an old historic fabric in such good shape, is rarer than the stool itself. There is a small part of the cast iron base plate that is missing but it does not affect the stability or function of the stool. The seat is stable and spins freely. As it should. ORNATE Antique 19th C Victorian Era Cast Iron FOOT STOOL Ottoman foot rest
I have up for sale a wonderful circa late 1800s Victorian Era Fancy Cast Iron Base Footstool. The castings are ornate and the paint appears to be the old original. The stool measures approx 14" square on the base. Approx 12" square on the top. The upholstery is older, I do not think it is the original but its older. It should be reupholstered and repadded. It has a scalloped top. And measures approx 14" x 14" x 7-1/4" tall and weighs about 9 lbs 10 ounces as you see it. The 14" is the base measurement, the top upholstered part is approx 12" across. The fancy cast base is quite beautiful. The paint appears to be original. Its with out question very old. The cast iron is in excellent shape, I notice one small crack, that has a repair on the back. This is a subtle crack that is only noticed when viewing with ... morescrutiny. My last few pics show the crack. In summation, this is an extremely minor imperfection and does not in any way compromise the structural integrity. This sweet late 1800s stool features a round wood top trimmed with 12 ball pendants and topped with a colorful hand worked needlepoint cover with peacock center. Made by the Briggs Patent Portable Ottoman Portfolio Piano Stool- Patented April 28th. 1868 and Aug 31st, 1869. Briggs' Manufactory of Portable. Patent Piano Stools- This business was commended in town, in a small way, by Joshua Briggs, in 1862. He made, at old jobs, one dozen of piano-stools in 1863, accupying the basement of Robert Day's shop, near'Wilder's Manufactory, North Peterborough. In the spring of 1864 he rented the second story and attic of'Brennan's Building, in the village, and continued them until the whole building was too limited for his vastly increased business, when he purchased the saw-mill of Mark Wilder, and erected for his manufactory, in the summer of 1873, his present large and commodius buildings. The progress of his business was gradual, from making a dozen piano-stools by himself, as in ... more1862, 63' and then with hiring one or two hands a part of the time, to his present condition. He now employs, when the business is good, from twenty-five to thirty hands in the shop, and at the same time hires all his iron-work, castings, screws, etc. done outside. The Massachusetts Charitable Mechanics' Association, Boston, in September, 1869, awarded to him a diploma and honorable mention of his piano-stools. Wooden painted frame shows some minor wear and paint loss. Hinges appear to have been replaced. This really is an amazing old antique stool. I am guessing mid 1800's. It is rather heavy. Solid wood, possibly Mahogany or? Cast iron legs with detailed design. Adjusting seat base, but is not currently working(see pics) Threads in the base see to be reamed out a little, but could be fixed. There is a water mark where I put my coffee cup by accident(see pics) but could be restained and fixed easily. There is a small crack in the seat, but I have been using this chair in my shop for the last year and no problems. Would be great in your home/ office/shop. Please email if you need measurements. After just cleaning the legs this now has the wonderful aged look that this has spent years developing. The top of the stool has a 9 ¾” diameter and is 3” tall down to the edging and it is roughly 7 ½” tall in total. The Cast Iron Legs are 4 ⅜” tall– are 3 ⅝” wide at the top– and 1 ⅝” wide at the bottom. This has a footprint of roughly 12” x 10 ½” The legs still tighten securely to the top.
