Oak Victorian Prei Dieu- Prayer Kneeler- 19th century This lovely piece measures 42"w x 36"h x 24"d approximately. It appears to have been re-upholstered at some point- there is about 3" of padding that feels to be of foam. I have not lifted the fabric to be certain. But it does not feel to be down or horsehair etc. The fabric is a cut velvet jaquard. The oak is lovely, no cracks or splits, joinings are solid and strong. It is quite heavy at 65lbs. If you check out my closeup pics you can see that years of wear have concaved the center of the thick wooden seat from the milker's bottom side! However this stool has stood the test of time and is still solid. Sturdy with no damage, and a great looking worn patina! The wood looks like oak or hickory and the bottom spindles appear to be constructed with a mortise peg in the middle.

Pretty little antique carved wood footstool. It's ready to be reupholstered in a fabric or embroidery piece to match your home. I think the wood is walnut. It is hand carved. The upholstery is it's original-it was mohair but is completly worn away. The webbing is very dry and the material used for stuffing is straw. French Curule"X-Frame" Parcel Gilt Antique Stool France. Probably Mid-19th Century Item# 130006WPV17 This is a simply stunning find. A French Curule Antique Stool with Gilt and Gesso surfaces c. the middle of the 19th Century. With bold and imposing materials, every aspect of this fine stool exudes strength and a robust spirit. The stuffed upholstered seat is thick and comfortable, the fabric in very poor condition. The exposed apron is carefully molded with a beaded edge before the crossed-ribbon and tied foliage design that wraps around all four sides. Resting over crossed"X-Frame" supports, typical of the Curule form of Neo-Greco furnishings, these trumpet in a way that gives great lift to the seat and a perfect amount of space between the base and the apron to downplay the heaviness of the form. Flanking a carved stretcher ... moreare large finials that rise from the X-joint, the entire stool terminating over oversized round feet with carved rosettes. Just a treasure in every regard. The surface has years of legitimate character worn into it's skin, this an entirely original gilt over gesso surface now oxidized and dirty from decades of enjoyment. For anyone that cherishes an early surface, a gritty and grimy layer juxtaposed against incredibly fine carved embellishments, this is a piece that will certainly enhance any setting it becomes a part of. Measurements: 20 7/8" wide x 19 1/4" long x 19 1/2" high Condition Report: Upholstery is stained and dirty. Significant wear and chipping to gilt and gesso throughout. Resulting in exposed wood and a somewhat rough appeal- we find this attractive and find it adds great visual interest to the piece, but please look carefully at the images to ensure this is the look you appreciate. Two interior rosette disks missing. Underside a small curved piece of wood is missing. One foot needs a pad under it to keep feet level. Sturdy and strong. You are bidding an an antique piano stool by Geo W Archer with patent date of May 6. 1873. Plate indicates manufacture as Rochester, NY. Stool has cast iron base with lion face image at the foot and a woman's image at the bend(knee) of the leg as pictured. Stool itself is made of wood with fabric seat cover, trimmed in gold fringe. Seat is rip free and unstained and fringe is intact but could use a tack or two to be complete. Height is adjustable up and down by spinning the seat up or down. This charming little Victorian stool is very old. We have had this sweet footstool for many years. It surely held the high top shoes of a child or young lady in a Victorian home. The old brown paint is giving way to the antique blue paint which covers an old yellow paint. The tufted top is worn and held by metal brass tacks. The banding is missing for 4" on one end and you can see the original condition of the top which is blue velvet. This little stool is about 8.5" tall. The top of the stool is about 10.5" X 7.5" The legs are painted bamboo and are 7" long. The crossbars are also bamboo. A nice example of antique children's furniture. The needlepoint floral has deep red. Yellow and blue flowers. Background color is a deep plum with matching tape trim all around border and wrapped around each leg. MEASUREMENTS: Needlepoint Surface alone- 12 1/2" x 8" Horn legs that flair out- 14 1/2" w x 7" deep x 6" high CONDITION: Legs are in fine shape solid and sturdy. I bought this piece from a fellow antique dealer from PA. She found this a farm estate sale early this spring. This appears to be the base of a kitchen cabinet that was some time ago repurposed as a work bench. Has a thick wood top applied over the original wood top. There is a heavy duty vice still fixed to the front left corner. Selling as is. While the paint colors and surface are uneven. It does have a nice rustic look to it! Antique estate sale find. Very old(probably be 19th century) little wooden primitive farmhouse foot stool. Lots of character! Made with(I think it's called) mortise and tennon joints. Has lots of dings. Wear, some repairs, some splits- still pretty sturdy, but I would let it stay"retired" and use it as a riser/ display piece. It was made a bit off kilter, as far as the placing of the stretchers. The top is not quite level. The dark circle on the top is burned into the wood. Very nice and rustic. Check out my! Approximate dimensions are 70 inches long x 27 inches deep x 37 inches high. The bench incorporates beautiful wide planks for the seat and“gingerbread” carving for the back and sides. Great vintage workbench from a basement. nice construction as seen in the dovetails of the tail vise and the wedged tenons of the face vise. the height of the bench top is 32 1/2 inches. the tops width is 24 1/2" and length is 79 1/2" the overall length with the tail vise is 85" the base is made of 4 by 4's for the legs and nailed on stretchers. the base has dowels which line up with corresponding holes in the top. the top is great. It has the 2 original iron bench dogs. the vises both work fine. the tool tray has been painted. there is a removable board in that tray so that wood shavings can be cleaned out. there is a twist to the top and there was a repair to the top as seen in the pictures. i am willing to ship it. let me know if i can answer any questions

Antique 19th Century Victorian Carved Wood W/Needlepoint Top Gout Foot Stool
Antique victoroian walnut foot/gout stool. It is carved on both sides with a raised scroll ending in a bellflower. The four feet have raised ribbing. It measures 13" long. 11" across, and 8" high at the tallest point. The needlepoint is original. The binding around the needlepoint is all there, but in some part it is stiff to the touch from age. The underneath has a black baize fabric that has a tear. The foot/gout stool is sturdy and is all original. Is in perfect condition, the wooden'worm' used to adjust the height of the stool, has also survived in perfect condition, and would be fit to use as a piano today, as it was intended for in 1890.
