For your consideration an ornate antique c.1890 Victorian organ stool. Fresh from a local estate. The stool is made of solid wood. I think it is cherry. It has cast metal feet. The legs and base are ornately turned. The edge of the seat is also carved. It is adjustable in height and has a large steel screw and shaft in the center. It works perfectly. It measures 18 1/2" in height adjusted down and 23 1/2" in height turned all the way up. The seat measures 14 1/2" in diameter. This is one of the nicest organ stools that I have seen in a long time. Up for auction is this ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE SOLID OAK PIANO ADJUSTABLE STOOL! It is in very good condition for its age. It is from the 1800's after all. It is adjustable height. It has the unpolished brass claw feet. The glass balls have NO cracks and r in very good condition with bubbles. On the bottom of the glass feet are pads so they didn't get scratched or cracked. I will leave it up to the buyer to keep them on or remove them. On the underside it says TONK NEW YORK CHICAGO. There is what looks like a scratch on the main middle leg but is the way it came from the factory which is a flaw in the wood. Please look at the photos I've showed it in one of the pictures. There is surface scrapes& wear down to the bare wood in places. Particularly on the seat.the center stem& legs/ spindaes show a beautiful column& circle design. The metal eagle claws show nice line detailing. Clear glass ball feet show minor chips but in very good condition& the bottom of the glass feet have a flat edge. The support posts are in very good condition but there seems to be a finial missing on the center post bottom. The seat had a cover on it at one time. Would look great with a needlepoint! This is an ornate antique Victorian adjustable piano/ organ/ harp stool. The stool is in great condition and appears to retain its original mahogany finish. It is made of solid wood that is stained mahogany. It has metal claw and clear glass ball feet. The glass balls are not cracked and the legs and base are ornately turned. The seat is covered with padding and red velvet. The cloth is not ripped or torn. But has some light stains. There is some light wear and scratches from use on the wood, and the legs are a little loose, but could easily be re-glued. There is a white cloth wrapped around the adjustment screw in the seat to keep it from squeaking as much when it turns. The round piece of wood under the seat has been re-glued as seen in the photos. For sale 1870's Piano Bench that raises and lowers by the Knobs on the ends of the stool by way of the metal mechanics under the seat. This was very avant-garde for the period. Adjustable piano bench were round and turned on the wood corkscrew dowel attached to the seat. The wood which I believe to be walnut is in. EXCELLENT dark stained condition and has never been painted. The seat was recovered but I believe was just put over the original seat as I can still see the strapping underneath. It has a cast iron mechanism rod in the middle so when you spin the seat you can make it rise up or down. It works with no problems and adjusts from 19 1/2" up to 26" in height. Stool has its original black painted finish and original upholstered mohair cushion. Probably had velvet ribbon covering the tacks around the edge of stool. But that is missing. I am not certain where it came from originally, but this is a very nice solid oak piano stool, with adjustable seat, lovely glass ball and claw feet, and very nice design. It has very minor wear from age as we were not allowed to sit or play on it. I searched for a name or maker and only could find an incised number in the bottom of the top of the stool. We are pleased to offer this beautiful antique stool/chair. This is a gorgeous piece with fantastic details and character. It features a high back with side spindles and a center slat. The top of the chair back is arched and has a nicely carved design. The chair has beautiful turned wood legs as well as the center adjustment mechanism. The legs are fitted with gilded iron claw and glass ball feet. The iron is very ornately patterned. The glass is a light green with tiny air bubbles. The adjustable seat is rounded and rests atop the actual chair seat. The chair looks as if it has been re-stained(by hand) at some point. The chair back. At the top, has dark stain on the sides and medium stain in the center. The dark stain pattern is not uniform and has a"free hand" look. Which actuates a mechanism to raise and lower the bench. Legs pivot in the center and a mechanism keeps them centered always. Included is a small roll of fabric that I was going to use to recover. Antique Edwardian or Late Victorian adjustable piano bench. This is a very unique bench the mechanism that adjusts the height is completely hidden within. Also. As the sides rise there is no gap; instead the mechanism is concealed from view. Raises and lowers smoothly via two round knobs on either side that need to be turned. preferably simultaneously to prevent damage to the mechanism. The bench appears to be solid Mahogany with what looks like original fabric. The fabric is damaged in several places and will need to be replaced. I believe it has its original straw or horse hair stuffing. There is Tan& Brown strip plush fabric with Brown colored upholstery tacks on rectangle wood top. I’m not sure if the fabric is original or not. Line grooves going around the wooden sides. 3 ornate carved legs with round appliques on all the sides(one has a crack see pic) There is detailed carvings along with spindles on each leg. This stool weighs 10.6 pounds and measures 19 and 1/2" tall with the seat at the lowest position. The bench seat itself measures 12 and 1/8" across. The legs measure 13" apart from one another. There is wear present on this stool however there are no breaks or repairs present. The fabric appears to be original. Overall this piano stool has great character and a great look to it. Metal claw and glass ball feet, rope turnings on the legs and stretcher. Seat adjusts from a low 19" to a height of 23" Seat diameter is 14" There are many coats of finish on the stool- so many that I am not sure what type of wood this is- the grain on the underside of the seat looks like walnut. The top section of the seat shows two narrow separations where the boards were laminated caused by wood shrinkage over the past 150 or so years, one of the crystal glass balls has a chip out. Very sturdy- very Victorian. A great side table or plant stand too. 1024x768 I am offering a late 1800’s piano stool. The round seat swivels to adjust the height. The stool is approximately 22” high at the highest setting based on the threaded center post. The lowest setting is 19” high. The seat is 14-1/2” in diameter. The brass finished cast iron feet hold Sandwich glass balls in the claws. There is slight discoloration in the finish on the seat as seen in the photos. There is also an age crack in the wood where it was originally seamed.
