This is an antique highback swivel piano stool/chair. It was made in the late 1800's by Tonk- Chicago& New York. This chair is in very good condition for it's age. Very sturdy. it has the glass ball claw feet. It's a very nice piece of furniture to have for your collection. Max Tonk, born in Berlin in 1851, went with his family to Chicago in 1857. He learned to carve and worked in his uncle's piano and organ factory carving embellishments of the instruments. In 1873 he opened his own carving shop supplying the Chicago cabinet industry with fancy ornaments for cabinets and caskets. In the 1880s Tonk Manufacturing began to make swivel seat piano stools for the growing musical industry. Up for auction is this ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE SOLID OAK PIANO ADJUSTABLE STOOL! It is in very good condition for its age. It is from the 1800's after all. It is adjustable height. It has the unpolished brass claw feet. The glass balls have NO cracks and r in very good condition with bubbles. On the bottom of the glass feet are pads so they didn't get scratched or cracked. I will leave it up to the buyer to keep them on or remove them. On the underside it says TONK NEW YORK CHICAGO. There is what looks like a scratch on the main middle leg but is the way it came from the factory which is a flaw in the wood. Please look at the photos I've showed it in one of the pictures. Magnificent Tonk Piano/Organ Stool in excellent condition. Found in Kalispell, MO. Originally made by the Tonk Company in New York. This is where the name"Honky Tonk" came from, as the early piano players were using these versatile stools than have a cork-screw seat to adjust the height. All original parts. Beautiful Oak wood and original natural wood finish that has not been messed with. Very rare find with a decorated carvings on the headboard.

Tonk Antique Piano Stool of Unusual Classical Design
Very unusual design for a Tonk screw type piano stool. This stool has been refinished. The wood is either part or all mahagony. The seat had been cracked and repaired- glued and reinforced- very strong. The sleeve that the screw part fits into should be glued to the bottom part so that it doesn't slip out. The bottom legs are also reinforced underneath for added strength. This is fairly heavy so would be sent UPS or USPS; whichever is more reasonable. Or picked up if you are in NYC.

Antique - Victorian "Tonk" Piano Stool covered in a Beautiful Needlepoint
This is a wonderful Victorian TONK Piano Stool. Covered in what appears to be a wool hand stitched needlepoint. The needlepoint is in excellent condition. With a beautiful Burgundy colored background surrounding a floral design.The edges are held with hand hammered tacks, also in excellent condition. The legs are tooled wood finished with a metal foot holding a glass ball. Most likely the metal is cast iron.The legs are painted beige in color and do have several chips and dings in the paint. The glass balls also show some chips and wear but are in great condition, considering the age. This appears to be made in the late 1800's. Under the seat stamped in the metal frame are names of two(2) locations: New York, Chicago, and the manufacturer- Tonk. The complete swivel mechanism is not included, the inside threaded casing seems to be missing ... morefrom the stool. The seat part does have the threaded rod. However, you can sit on it. Please see photographs. It stands 20" high& about 15" wide as is. This piece has been in my family since the 1970's. This classic victorian style piano stool is very pretty. And would make a great restoration project. The bottom frame is composed of cast iron. It is beautifully engraved and features three gorgeous twisted legs that add volumes to the overall style. The seat portion appears to be made of pine. It looks as if it was just the base that a padded cushion or covering was glued to. You can see some of the left over residue from this in the pictures. The cast iron portion is in great shape, with no dents, dings or bends whatsoever. The part that adjust spins up and down quite smoothly. I think it looks different because the legs need a coat of polyurethane. I was going to clean it all up. However I think if I use furniture polish you wouldn't be able to see the difference in color between the top and the base. It measure 18" high 15"wide for the seat and the legs are14.5" wide at the bottom. I've tried to show in the pictures the dings, smudges, or dents. Please refer to the photos for details. This is a late 19th early 20th century bent/ twisted wire base hard wood swivel piano stool. The wood has been painted black at some point. It is probably oak underneath the paint. Condition is very good as found with some normal wear.

For your consideration is this 1890s WOOD ADJUSTABLE GLASS BALL& CLAW FOOT SWIVEL PIANO STOOL TONK MFG NEW YORK CHICAGO. Absolutely beautiful late 1800s piano stool. The wood is oak. The seat swivels up and down. The low height is 19" and the top height is 23" The seat is 14 3/4" in diameter. The metal bracket under the seat reads: TONK CHICAGO& NEW YORK. The seat is solid but some space between the two pieces. You'll be proud to display this piece in your home. Enjoy bidding! Thanks for looking. Antique Tonk (Chicago & N Y) Swivel Piano Stool w/ Brass Claw & Glass Ball Feet
This gorgeous old adjustable swivel seat piano bench was made by Tonk(Chicago& New York) and it is in superb condition. The seat has a coule of splits in the wood and the original finish has worn off to some degree. As it was sat on for at least 100 years. The finish to the rest of the wood is original with a great'alligatored' appearence. The brass claw and glass ball feet are also in fantastic condition. The seat measures 14 5/8" across and sits(more or less) 20" from floor. Shipping includes tracking.

You are bidding on the pictured antique Tonk Piano Stool with Swivel Seat and Twisted Iron Legs. It is in Very Good overall condition with some signs of wear and a nice original patina. The original wood seat has been professionally repaired on the bottom and there is a small piece of iron missing on the base. See pictures. It swivels from a height of 17 1/2" up to around 21" The seat does have a little wobble to it when swiveled up and it measures 14 1/2" in diameter. The twisted iron legs are in very good condition with no damage. It is marked on the base of the seat Tonk Chicago. Please use the pictures to determine it's exact condition including any wear. And measures 14 3/4" in diameter. It adjusts from 17" up to about 21" high. It has brass eagle claw glass ball feet and ornately carved legs and frame. It is solid and intact. It has the original finsh, but some is blistered. The seat has some water spots and a chip on the edge, but both should be easy fixes.The mounting plate is marked Tonk, New York, Chicago.
