ANTIQUE VICTORIAN BALL EAGLE CLAW PIANO ORGAN HIGH BACK STOOL CHAIR
Beautiful. Elegant Antique High-back Piano/Organ Stool Up for auction is my grandparents' antique ball-eagle-claw-foot high back Windsor Victorian piano stool. This stunning& elegant Victorian-era piano stool has 4 shapely turned legs with gorgeous ribbing finished with the magnificent ball eagle claw feet. Beautifully turned spindle stretchers secure the legs to the centerpiece pedestal. Original finish. Still in great condition. A true work of art and quality craftsmanship. Dating from about 1870 to 1900. A swivel adjustable stool with original ball and claw feet was made to use with a piano or organ. I do not know the exact hardwood, my best guess is it is solid mahogany. The finish is in excellent condition meaning there are no chips or scuffs* I believe it is American-made. It looks like Charles Parker, however I cannot find ... moremanufacturer's name on it so it could be custom made by an independent craftsman. Sorry, I just do not know since I am not an expert on antiques such as this. Please note: There are a couple of cracks that are visible in the finish(upper back of chair/right and left side) But chair is completely intact and secure. I do not know the origin of these imperfections- not sure if this is a hairline along a seam, or something to do with the way chair was made, or if the chair fell over at one time. Chair is still sturdy and although these hairlines look prominent in the pictures, you really have to look pretty hard at it to see them. Also please see pic of pedestal base of chair seat. There is a gap in the seam that does not affect sturdiness of chair, but cosmetically you may want to glue/repair. For your consideration is a nice maple wood piano stool. The stool is marked"TONK CHICAGO NEW YORK" on the cast iron threaded seat support. The stool is very solid and adjust in height from 19 1/2" 25" and has a 14 1/2" diameter seat. The glass balls on the feet are free of anh cracks and chips. The stool has had the seat reglued and overall refinished at some point in its past and surfaces have a smooth sealed finish. There is a color variation on the base of the stool. Almost looks like shadowing in the finish, not sure what it is but it does look nice. I took lots of pictures of different sides so you can see. It is a nice looking functioning stool. There are no makers marks. It has ornate gold or brass colored feet. Three of them. It is 19" tall from floor to the top of the seat. It does not have a raising mechanism that I could locate. There is some slight wiggle to the seat but overall it is pretty in tact overall. Please see pictures. Others I could find while researching this seemed to be from the late 1800's. Size: 19" tall from top to bottom and 12" wide from foot to foot-approximate measurements Quantity: 1 Condition: GOOD- This vintage victorian organ stool has a neat vintage look to it with the black seat cover and it's needlepoint ... moredesign. Up for auction is this ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE SOLID OAK PIANO ADJUSTABLE STOOL! It is in very good condition for its age. It is from the 1800's after all. It is adjustable height. It has the unpolished brass claw feet. The glass balls have NO cracks and r in very good condition with bubbles. On the bottom of the glass feet are pads so they didn't get scratched or cracked. I will leave it up to the buyer to keep them on or remove them. On the underside it says TONK NEW YORK CHICAGO. There is what looks like a scratch on the main middle leg but is the way it came from the factory which is a flaw in the wood. Please look at the photos I've showed it in one of the pictures. Superb Mid 1800s Carved Rosewood Barley Twist Organ Piano Stool
Frist of all I am pretty sure this is rosewood. But it is what it is, which is beautiful medium color wood with what appears to be the original finish. It still retains the original wood seat trim! It is very sturdy and can be used as is. But I am very picky about my antiques and it is BEING SOLD AS A RESTORATION piece. ISSUES. SEE LAST FOUR PHOTOS 1. Repaired foot. I am 170 pounds and when I sit on the chair it is very stable 2. small area of worm holes 3. the seat swivels but does not extend. WONDERFUL antique Victorian era mahogany piano stool with metal eagle claws clutching glass ball feet.very deep mahogany color& surface patina shows alligator texture that comes from age. There is surface scrapes& wear down to the bare wood in places. Particularly on the seat.the center stem& legs/ spindaes show a beautiful column& circle design. The metal eagle claws show nice line detailing. Clear glass ball feet show minor chips but in very good condition& the bottom of the glass feet have a flat edge. The support posts are in very good condition but there seems to be a finial missing on the center post bottom. The seat had a cover on it at one time. Would look great with a needlepoint! The truth is that I don't know the exact age of this piano stool. And we're only estimating it is 1800's. It has a swivel top that is upholstered. If that upholstery is original or not, well I can't say for sure. I can note that the hardware holding the stool top to the base looks shiny and new, so at one point it was disassembled. One screw is missing altogether. These are easily replaced. The stool is structurally sound, no loose parts. It has metal feet and is a unique piece. I can only imagine the hours spent at the lathe to create it. It stands about 16 inches tall with a 12 inch seat.

This has been relaquered or varnished and repaired sometime in it's life. The repair is to the top board under the seat that the legs attach to. It looks like it was cracked and glued there and then some extra braces put on it to increase the strength. It feels sound and solid and easily held my 300 lbs and you should have no problems with it. They are on the underside so do not show in use. I saw no other damage and everything is tight and sound. 19" tall fully down. 24" fully up before it starts to wobble too much, 6" of thread on the shaft. Signed Patd Nov 22 1881 Seat is 14" x 14" but actually about 14 1/2" square counting the fancy decorations. Seat covering looks original with some wear-no tears-and feels like the old material made of horsehair and camel hair that they used in the old lap robe/blankets. A few moth chew marks that don't go through. I think the wood is mahogany but is tough to tell with the old dark finish on it. Sound and solid with no chips,cracks or repairs. Leg spread is 14" toe to toe. Some wear to the embroidered decorative strip around the seat but not too bad. It is made of solid wood that is stained mahogany. It has metal claw and clear glass ball feet. The glass balls are not cracked and the legs and base are ornately turned. The seat is covered with padding and red velvet. The cloth is not ripped or torn. But has some light stains. There is some light wear and scratches from use on the wood, and the legs are a little loose, but could easily be re-glued. Scarce Antique 1870's Victorian Adjustable Mechanical Piano Stool Organ Bench EX
For sale 1870's Piano Bench that raises and lowers by the Knobs on the ends of the stool by way of the metal mechanics under the seat. This was very avant-garde for the period. Adjustable piano bench were round and turned on the wood corkscrew dowel attached to the seat. The wood which I believe to be walnut is in. EXCELLENT dark stained condition and has never been painted. The seat was recovered but I believe was just put over the original seat as I can still see the strapping underneath. Up for auction is beautiful antique Victorian adjustable piano/ organ stool. This stool dates from the late 1800's and was made by the HD Bentley company. The company was founded in 1879 in Freeport. IL, and began offering over 60 styles of stools from their"new" factory on E. Van Buren Street in Chicago in May of 1893. Signed with iron nameplate: H.D. Bentley Freeport Chicago The wooden stool has nice turned legs. Wonderful feet with glass marble balls and a unique dragon/ head claw shape. The glass is visible trough the two eyes and at the base. The piece is 19" high(lowest position) and adjusts to 24" high. And measures 14" at the base and the seat is about 14 1/4" wide. See enlarged photos for condition. Seat swivels easily- although makes a little noise. There are no cracks or large chips in the wood. ... moreAll pieces are original and solid. The feet are intact. This is a very old R W Archer& Bros piano stool. I obtained this from an estate sale in Ohio. This stool is solid and has a nice weight(over 15lbs) I believe the wood is Mahogany but I am not 100% sure. The stool works as it should and swivels up and down. I bought it to restore but it has been sitting for about a year and it has become apparent that is not going to happen. There is a chip on the Inside decorative apron-see photo 12- It is Not noticeable when in use but needs to be noted as the condition of the piece. 17 1/2" fully down-23 1/2" fully up to where the threads come undone so about 22" of safe usable height. Seat is 14 1/2" diameter and dished in the middle for comfort. Signed the New York Piano Stool Manufacturing Company. Sliver chip to the underside of the seat which hurts nothing. Leg spread is 14" across the closest feet. 19 1/2" across the farthest. Glass/crystal balls are loaded with air bubbles and in good shape. Very ornate claw feet with toes and claws and scales to look like bird feet. Threads in the iron mounting mechanism look good and are not worn out. I see a split at the very bottom of the pedestal below where the 4 leg cross supports insert and another small split/chip where a leg inserts into the bottom of the seat support. Some one already glued these up at some point in time and it feels sound ... moreand solid with all the joints feeling tight. There is a groove about 1/2" below the end of the center support. I've often seen a piece of copper wire wrapped around at that spot to make sure the crack never opens up again. Finish to the oak has really darkened over the years. I am going to remove the 4 screws that hold the iron to the bottom of the seat to hold the box size down for shipping. I have up for sale a really nice vintage original circa late 1890s to early 1900s Holtzman& Sons- Columbus. Ohio Oak Piano Stool. The spins on a screw,making the seats height either raise or lower depending on the direction you spin it. This particular style is much harder to find than the more common glass ball and claw foot examples. It personally is more appealing to my tastes. Maybe yours as well. This is just a great looking piece- all original. And in mighty fine shape. There is some normal minor light wear but overall its in great shape. It is solid and sturdy, not made for a mountain of a man but it will hold up for most folks. The seat is approx 14-1/2" in diameter and with the seat at its lowest point,it stands approx 19-1/4" tall. The screw spins smoothly and easily. the approximate weight is 15 lbs as it sits. The ... morefinish is Excellent. Nice warm patina, some wear on the seat but nothing serious. As noted in the condition report above, one half round/half ball is missing from the seats beaded edge, two other half balls have minor imperfections- one appears to have been glued back on and there is some remnants of the glue residue. Not to sure on the age, have not done enough research on it, it measures 24 1/2" at it's highest point and 20" at it's lowest point, seat is 14 1/8" across, glass balls have some light chips on them, though not bad and gives this stool a great decoration in your home. RARE 1800's ANTIQUE Adjustable PIANO ORGAN STOOL SEAT Bench Gear Crank Jack Lift
Very Rare Adjustable Style Piano Bench. Turn the handles on the side and it raises the seat. Kinda like a jack lift does. Adjusts from 21" high to 18" high. The seat is 22.5" x 13" with the handles. Needs one bolt and new cushion and cosmetic work as you can see. Dated Jan, 30, 77. Think that is 1877 but maybe 1777 I don't know. This came from an old old house destined for demolition.
