Probably crafted during the years of 1890-1910 during the height of the Rococo Revival period. It is a crisply executed piece. An overall breezy design, leveraging the play of the thin profile and tight formal lines against the bold and deep carvings along the hands and arms, it is a very successful presentation. The arms are molded, carved scales carefully layered along the top to culminate in carved acanthus handholds on all four corners, these are lifted on supports that flow in a single piece of wood from the handhold to the toe. Falling directly ... morebeneath each handhold is a floral display of bold and crisp execution, this flowing into a plain molded stile that squares at the frame, then turns and tapers in a stop-fluted leg terminating in a conical-ball foot. The apron is plain with the twisted ribbon molding wrapping around all sides, framing a tightly caned seat beneath a down-stuffed cushion(the cushion in poor condition) This is a simply gorgeous little antique window bench. Antique 19thC C.W. Chadwick Carved Walnut Victorian Piano Stool Velvet Bench
This is a beautiful piano stool circa 1889. It is in very good condition with what looks like original sawdust stuffed cushion. The red velvet has faded however. The wooden base is carved from what I believe is walnut. There is a cast iron stool spider supporting the top marked C.W. Chadwick North Acton Massachusetts. There are nails around the bottom from perhaps a time when it was recovered but the original cushion was not replaced. There is pencil on the bottom which indicates 89 so perhaps it is dated 1889. It appears to be from that time period. Measures 17"w x 12"d x 19"h. Thank you!

Carved to death with an outstanding crest of two dragons and a shield. The 3 panels depict Franz von Sickengen and Ulrich Von Hutten and are carved into bottoms of panels. These two crusaders stated the revolt against the Roman Catholic Church. Easy research to look up but very interesting. Up for auction is a beautiful victorian cushioned bench. It measures 44 1/2" L x 20" W x 17" H. It appeared to be made out of ornately carved mahogany or possibly cherry. The material is a mauve to rose color floral tapestry. The bottom material of the bench appears to be original. When you push on the springs it feels like there may be straw or horse hair stuffing inside. The wood and material are in excellent condition and the bench is well constructed. Chestnut Carved Hall Seat Chair Bench Figural Carved Henry II Breton French 19c Incredible hand carved antique French Henry II figural bench! This bench is magnificent to say the least. The carvings are spectacular and command attention yet subtle that they are not overdone for your decor. The wood is chestnut and is fine in color I've taken pictures inside and out to give you the true color as best I can. The size is also remarkable in that it can fit in most any entry way or bedroom you name it this is the size most want as it is isn't overpowering. 48" wide by 18" depth by 32" to the handrail and 36" to the top of the crown on the figural carved Henry II King of France from 1547-1559. He had many ties to Brittany thus the fine figural carved motif on this bench. You will be amazed at how difficult it has become ... moreto find good antiques such as these in this type of condition. The bench seems to be all original as far as I can tell. the crown on Henry II has some wear as this is where one would place their hands, to be expected to see normal wear in the correct places such as this. Four faublous intricately carved Griffin panels two on each side and two in the back. This bench would be great with a needlepoint panel on the seat, I have one listed this week if you, take a look at our other auctions. The part I was most impressed with is the top when you stand near this bench the carving are easy to see and you don't have to bend to see them like many where they are usually only on the front or back or lower portion. I would give this bench a 9+ on a scale from 1-10 as it has the makings of a fine heirloom piece to hand down for generations to come. Fantastic primitive bench. Carved from oak I believe, with the year 1860 stamped on the bottom. Seat flips up and has ample storage inside. Carvings are beautiful. One finial missing from the top and there is some old water damage to the bottom, particularly on the left, but the piece is very stable and strong. Wood has amazing shiny, soft patina.Very heavy and impressive. 37" high; 35" wide; 15" deep. Seat is 16" off the ground. I recommend TSC Movers but am available to help with shipping arrangements.
