It is a nice looking functioning stool. There are no makers marks. It has ornate gold or brass colored feet. Three of them. It is 19" tall from floor to the top of the seat. It does not have a raising mechanism that I could locate. There is some slight wiggle to the seat but overall it is pretty in tact overall. Please see pictures. Others I could find while researching this seemed to be from the late 1800's. Size: 19" tall from top to bottom and 12" wide from foot to foot-approximate measurements Quantity: 1 Condition: GOOD- This vintage victorian organ stool has a neat vintage look to it with the black seat cover and it's needlepoint ... moredesign. There is a slight"wiggle" to the seat but it may just need a quick tightening I have not attempted to tighten it. And the play in the seat is slight however noticeable. Up for auction is this ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE SOLID OAK PIANO ADJUSTABLE STOOL! It is in very good condition for its age. It is from the 1800's after all. It is adjustable height. It has the unpolished brass claw feet. The glass balls have NO cracks and r in very good condition with bubbles. On the bottom of the glass feet are pads so they didn't get scratched or cracked. I will leave it up to the buyer to keep them on or remove them. On the underside it says TONK NEW YORK CHICAGO. There is what looks like a scratch on the main middle leg but is the way it came from the factory which is a flaw in the wood. Please look at the photos I've showed it in one of the pictures. This seat is very good solid condition and the 5 position height adjustment mechanism and springs are intact. The lift arm is stamped"Pat MAR 5 1872. Someone has added a corner bracket to hold the top from lifting. I can see why. It's very easy to get your fingers pinched until one get used to holding it on the edges when putting the seat down. It is stamped" F. Neppert Manufacture N.Y. The Francis Neppert Company was making wood stools and music racks at 390 Canal Street in New York City in the mid to late 1800's. This is an ornate antique Victorian adjustable piano/ organ/ harp stool. The stool is in great condition and appears to retain its original mahogany finish. It is made of solid wood that is stained mahogany. It has metal claw and clear glass ball feet. The glass balls are not cracked and the legs and base are ornately turned. The seat is covered with padding and red velvet. The cloth is not ripped or torn. But has some light stains. There is some light wear and scratches from use on the wood, and the legs are a little loose, but could easily be re-glued. There is a white cloth wrapped around the adjustment screw in the seat to keep it from squeaking as much when it turns. The round piece of wood under the seat has been re-glued as seen in the photos. This is a wood and cast iron Victorian piano stool but could also be used as a foot stool. This is a Victorian original probably made sometime in the late 1800's. The base is made of solid wood with a dark stain and the seat is upholstered with either the ORIGINAL tapestry or a replacement from very near the same time period. The tapestry is that of an urn with flowers in it. And both the tapestry and the fringe are in great, usable shape. Such an old historic fabric in such good shape, is rarer than the stool itself. There is a small part of the cast iron base plate that is missing but it does not affect the stability or function of the stool. The seat is stable and spins freely. As it should. Up for auction is this absolutely stunning vintage antique Victorian classic 1800's claw foot swiveling seat/ piano bench/ chair/ seat/ ottoman/ footstool. Adjustable seat raises up and down adjusting for multiple users. Characteristic turned wood legs and spreaders. Brass claw feet holding onto a glass ball and all authentic. I believe this to be maple wood due to the smooth wood grain although I'm not positive. Beautiful craftsmanship and really solid. Stool measures 16 to 22 inches high and 13 inches square at the base of the legs. In great vintage condition. I believe this was made between 1870-1890 by Merrian. Antique Victorian Swivel Adjustable Piano Stool with Needlepoint Seat. Marked underneath seat Geo. W. Archer. Rochester, NY, PAT May 6, 1873. Beautiful needlepoint seat with matching fringe trim. Ebony Wooden stem with three iron scroll legs with ornate bird/falcon's head at top which gives it a chinoiserie feel. Black painted. From bottom of wood where I believe the lathe was, the black looks original, but may have been touched up over the years. Seat has a unique shape with needlepoint seat cover. From underneath there are other tack holes-may not be original, not sure. Original seat cover may be underneath. There is a visible crack with glued repairs on bottom of wooden seat. Seems strong and sturdy to me. Swivel mechanism for height adjustment works fine. A very typical Victorian period piano stool. Paypal only.
