Beautiful. Elegant Antique High-back Piano/Organ Stool Up for auction is my grandparents' antique ball-eagle-claw-foot high back Windsor Victorian piano stool. This stunning& elegant Victorian-era piano stool has 4 shapely turned legs with gorgeous ribbing finished with the magnificent ball eagle claw feet. Beautifully turned spindle stretchers secure the legs to the centerpiece pedestal. Original finish. Still in great condition. A true work of art and quality craftsmanship. Dating from about 1870 to 1900. A swivel adjustable stool with original ball and claw feet was made to use with a piano or organ. I do not know the exact hardwood, my best guess is it is solid mahogany. The finish is in excellent condition meaning there are no chips or scuffs* I believe it is American-made. It looks like Charles Parker, however I cannot find ... moremanufacturer's name on it so it could be custom made by an independent craftsman. Sorry, I just do not know since I am not an expert on antiques such as this. Please note: There are a couple of cracks that are visible in the finish(upper back of chair/right and left side) But chair is completely intact and secure. I do not know the origin of these imperfections- not sure if this is a hairline along a seam, or something to do with the way chair was made, or if the chair fell over at one time. Chair is still sturdy and although these hairlines look prominent in the pictures, you really have to look pretty hard at it to see them. Also please see pic of pedestal base of chair seat. There is a gap in the seam that does not affect sturdiness of chair, but cosmetically you may want to glue/repair. Antique Victorian Pressed Carved Walnut Organ/ Piano Stool Circa 1870-90s Victorian walnut pressed carved organ/ piano stool. The 4 legs have press carving of leaves/ wings? with a beaded trim. Tops of legs all have a turned finial. Bottom has an acorn finial. Seat skirt has an Eastlake line carving. Seat is adjustable from a low of 18"H to a high of 21-1/2"H. Flowered upholstered seat measures 16-1/4"L x 12'1/4"W. Four screws hold the upholstered top on so if you want to re-upholster it is an easy job. Marked on the iron mechanism"TONK CHICAGO& N. It is a nice looking functioning stool. There are no makers marks. It has ornate gold or brass colored feet. Three of them. It is 19" tall from floor to the top of the seat. It does not have a raising mechanism that I could locate. There is some slight wiggle to the seat but overall it is pretty in tact overall. Please see pictures. Others I could find while researching this seemed to be from the late 1800's. It has the unpolished brass claw feet. The glass balls have NO cracks and r in very good condition with bubbles. On the bottom of the glass feet are pads so they didn't get scratched or cracked. Seat covering looks original with some wear-no tears-and feels like the old material made of horsehair and camel hair that they used in the old lap robe/blankets. A few moth chew marks that don't go through. I think the wood is mahogany but is tough to tell with the old dark finish on it. Sound and solid with no chips,cracks or repairs. Leg spread is 14" toe to toe. Some wear to the embroidered decorative strip around the seat but not too bad. For sale 1870's Piano Bench that raises and lowers by the Knobs on the ends of the stool by way of the metal mechanics under the seat. This was very avant-garde for the period. Adjustable piano bench were round and turned on the wood corkscrew dowel attached to the seat. The wood which I believe to be walnut is in. EXCELLENT dark stained condition and has never been painted. The seat was recovered but I believe was just put over the original seat as I can still see the strapping underneath. Rare Antique Victorian Mahogany 1878 R W Archer & Bro. Piano Organ Stool LOOK!
This is a very old R W Archer& Bros piano stool. I obtained this from an estate sale in Ohio. This stool is solid and has a nice weight(over 15lbs) I believe the wood is Mahogany but I am not 100% sure. The stool works as it should and swivels up and down. I bought it to restore but it has been sitting for about a year and it has become apparent that is not going to happen. The seat needs replaced and recovered and there are some nicks and wear(please see pictures) This stool is as I found it and I have done nothing to it. It is marked may 6 1978. Marked in molded cast iron under stool that connects the base, Patten May 6, 1875, GEO. W. Archer, Rochester, NY. It has a cast iron mechanism rod in the middle so when you spin the seat you can make it rise up or down. It works with no problems and adjusts from 19 1/2" up to 26" in height. Stool has its original black painted finish and original upholstered mohair cushion. Probably had velvet ribbon covering the tacks around the edge of stool. But that is missing. The seat size measures 16 1/2" x 12 1/2" and the overall condition is very good. Reupholstering it is up to the new owners. This is a Victorian Piano Seat with Clawfeet. This stool is in relatively good shape but needs some tlc. The glass balls might need to be changed and the wood needs reconditioned. I'm not sure how this chair is supposed to work but the metal piece might be broken. But when the seat is on it seems to swivel just fine.

Victorian Antique Organ Piano Bench or Vanity Stool Marsden English
This beautiful organ or piano bench was made in England. Most likely in the late 1800s, possibly very early 1900s. It is made of solid wood, which I believe to be mahogany. It has a beautiful rich medium tone, reddish brown in color. The wood has a beautiful grain which I have tried to capture in the photographs. Underneath the seat is a cast iron mechanism that allows the seat to be raised or lowered using the knobs on the side. The mechanism was made and patented by the Marsden company and is in perfect working order. The wood on the underside of the stool and part of the mechanism is stamped"Marsden's Patent LEEDS 542. See photos) The bench features splayed legs. With lovely turned designs. It is well made and very sturdy, suitable for daily use as a piano bench or vanity seat. Exceptionally rare adjustable height victorian era Eastlake style organ or piano stool or bench There is a knob at one end to affect the height adjustment and it connects to a wooden screw. Which actuates a mechanism to raise and lower the bench. Legs pivot in the center and a mechanism keeps them centered always. Included is a small roll of fabric that I was going to use to recover. The design of this example is just that much nicer than most others- it has a fluted center pedestal section with matching fluted splayed legs- cast iron claw feet/Eagle Talon Claws with glass ball centers.
