Very smooth and eye catching. These have excellent maker marks cast by Wilcox Crittenden on the one side and the letter O cast on the other side. The center hole measure 2" inside dia. The brackets are 4" long with the top mounting holes being on 3 1/2" centers and the side holes are on 3" centers. All 4 holes would take a 3/16" dia. screw. This is a matched pair of used Wilcox Crittenden bronze oar locks we found in boat salvage yard. These are used for holding the oars of a small rowboat. The opening of each one measures about 2 inches wide and the shaft is 1/2 inch diameter and the shaft is 2+1/8 inches long. Both oar locks are used and worn but would be great for reuse or decorating a nautical room.
