Ships Passageway Light Bronze 90 Degree Ships Light Passageway Wall Light By Oceanic/Pauluhn Buy With Confidence From The Number 1 Seller Of Vintage Ship Lights On eBay Images where more than 1 light appears are representational/for effect. These items are sold as single pieces. Please use the drop down to acquire more than 1 Below is a before and after shot of the fittings. Aged with ammonia vapour they blend in with the patina of the lights. if however you would prefer them not aged let me know and I will swap them over. Description: Sometimes I get lights and only after unpacking the boxes do I realise just how fantastic they are. And these are very much the case. Made by Oceanic(an American maker still going today) they arrived with original fittings that were completely shot. Some of the internal fittings plus 1 of the lights(which has ... morenow been sold) had the maker Pauluhn on it. Pauluhn were obviously also involved in the making of the lights and are another well known US electrical company supplying high quality ship lights. I decided the best route was to put new fittings in however Pauluhn wanted way too much money to use like for like parts, around £100.00 per light) I removed the old fittings, re-threaded holes etc and generally made good. I bought steel discs and brass fittings with earths, cut some threaded pipe and restored them. Finally I aged the new shiny brass fittings by exposing them to ammonia vapour for about an hour in an old tub. Every screw, every moving part runs properly, these lights are just like owning a brand new light except the body, cage and thick glasses are old, very old and now very rare as they have not put lights like this on ships in decades. Looking at the style, weight and the state of the fittings that were stuck inside them(bakelite) these have to be 1960's or earlier and are lovely bronze pieces. The diameter on the top is 5.2 inches(13.5 cm) The diameter on the base is 10.7 inches(27.5 cm) and it has a height of 11.5 inches(9.2 cm) It weighs around 12 Kg. ~ Condition ~. The bell is in good order but does not have its clapper. The red paint inside the bell is very well preserved. ~ History ~. HMS Seraph was an S-class destroyer launched in 1918 and used until 1934. Its commanding officer until August 1920 was Commander Ernest W. Kirkby. It was one of the so called"new class" destroyers. Designed after 1916 being more powerful and reliable than the older models. ~ Bronze Ships Tampion For The Battleship HMS Nelson From Secondary Battery ~ The piece is a circular bronze tampion(a gun muzzle cover. Also spelled Tompion) with a rope pattern border. To the centre is a high relief bust silhouette of Lord Nelson facing to the right. The reverse has a central 1/2 inch diameter securing bolt screwed into a varnished wooden plaque. The name of the ship. HMS Nelson, is wire burnt into the plaque, in the 6 o'clock position. The tampion would have been fitted to one of the twelve breech loading 6 inch(152 mm) Mk XXII guns. These were in twin turrets towards the stern of the ship. ~ HMS Nelson ~ HMS Nelson(pennant number 28) was one of two Nelson-class battleships built for the Royal Navy between the two World Wars. She was named in honour of Horatio Nelson. 1st Viscount Nelson the victor at the Battle of ... moreTrafalgar. The Nelsons were unique in British battleship construction, being the only ships to carry a main armament of 16-inch(406 mm) guns, and the only ones to carry all the main armament forward of the superstructure. ~ Mounted Bronze Ships Tampion From The Battleship HMS Trafalgar(1890)~ The tampion(gun muzzle cover) is circular and headed with an oblong plaque bearing the name'Trafalgar' with red backing. It has a rope pattern border and centered with a heraldic cross within a laurel wreath. The background is dark green. The tampion is from one of her secondary battery of six 6-inch(150 mm) quick firers. She was originally fitted with 4.7-inch(120 mm) secondary guns but these were upgraded during October 1896. On the reverse. It is fitted with a central securing screw. The tampion now sits on a polished wood shield shaped display plaque. ~ HMS Trafalgar ~ HMS Trafalgar was one of two Trafalgar class battleships commissioned in 1890 and 1891. The other being HMS Nile. She was completed. Except for her main armament, in only three years and three ... moremonths. The delay in the production of her guns meant that she was not commissioned, as second flagship Mediterranean Fleet until 2 April 1890. She served in this position until October 1897, when she paid off at Portsmouth, and where she remained as guardship until August 1902. She remained thereafter in reserve until 1907, when she went to Sheerness to serve as a drill ship for crews of turrets and of submerged torpedo tubes. In April 1909 she reverted to active service with the fourth division of the Home Fleet, based at the Nore. She was sold on 9 March 1911. ~ Dimensions ~ The diameter of the tampion is 7 inches(17.8 cm) and the dimensions of the plaque are 9 x 9 inches(23 x 23 cm) It weighs 4.4Kg. ~ Condition ~ The tampion is in great condition with some minor traces of oxidation. But nothing serious. The wood shield has some signs of wear on the sides and on the back. The hook of the shield is painted white. Here we have a very heavy Victorian Cast Bronze Ships bell c.1900. Unfortunately there are no markings on the bell that show where exactly this bell has come from apart from a cast number 17 but exactly what this relates to I am not sure. It has an applied cast iron hooked handle. These items are very hard to date but it clearly has some age my best educated guess is around 1900. Measurements(approx. 9.5” high x 8.5” diameter and weighing approximately 5kg. Condition: The bell is free of cracks and rings well. It shows all the usual signs of age which include minor dents etc and wear. This however only adds to the authenticity of the piece. It is unfortunately missing its original clanger which could be easily replaced however that would go against my personal policy of leaving all my items in their original state. Made probably of bronze or gunmetal it comes apart easily the bulb section comes out and could be easily re-wired. There was probably a rubber seal on the glass section this is not there so the glass is slightly loose but this could be replaced to make tight.

The front depicts a shield with a crowned. Lion rampant. It is mounted on period oak. ~ Dimensions ~ The badge measures 8 inches(20.5cm) and 6.5 inches(16.5cm) wide The mount is 8.9 inches(22.5cm) tall and 8 inches(20.5cm) wide. The depth of the badge when mounted is 1.5 inches(3.8cm) The total weight is 1.93 kg. ~ Condition ~ The badge has a healthy patina overall with some oxide in the recesses. ~ Bronze Ships Boat Badge HMS Phoebe 1939 Dido Class Lighter Cruiser ~ The bronze badge is the cruiser pattern pentagonal shape with a roped border. And depicts a golden moon above a waved blue& white ocean against a blue background. The paint is original. The border of the piece has five mounting holes. One at each corner. This would have originally been fitted to one of the ships launches. ~ HMS Phoebe ~ HMS Phoebe(43) was a Dido-class light cruiser launched in 1939. She had extensive WW2 service and survived being torpedoed twice. She was scrapped in 1956. ~ Dimensions ~ The badge has a height of 5 inches(12.7 cm) and a width of 5.5 inches(14 cm) It weighs 920 g. ~ Condition ~ The paint has some minor wear but remains in otherwise good condition. Pair Antique / Vintage Heavy Bronze Ships Lights Port / Starboard 7.2 KG
A very heavy pair old bronze ships port/ starboard lights weighing 7.2 kg the pair. The blue glass is chipped and cracked as can be seen in the photo, the red glass has a couple of small chips as photo, these lights are superb quality and are uncleaned and as found with traces of original paint, the lights when mounted will be 11.5 cm high, they are 11 cm across the flat side, the total height including the thread section is 16.5 cm, the glass is 12.5 cm across and 6 cm high.

Fantastic signal cannon barrel. Has 1" bore and you can see the rifling in the photos. has a small hole in back but when I look through the barrel I do not see the hole. Two at the top and one on the lower edge. The reverse is impressed“NORFOLK” ~ Dimensions ~ The piece has a height of 7 inches(18 cm) A width of 7.5 inches(19 cm) and a depth of 0.6 inches(1.5 cm) It weighs 1.74 kg ~ Condition ~ The badge is in decent condition ~ HMS Norfolk ~ HMS Norfolk was a County-class heavy cruiser of the Royal Navy; along with her sister ship Dorsetshire. She was part of a planned four-ship subclass. She was laid down in July 1927 at Govan by Fairfield Shipbuilding& Engineering Co. Ltd and launched on 12 December 1928. She was commissioned ... moreon 30 April 1930. She served throughout the Second World War. Her most noted actions were. 1. With her near sister- from the earlier County-class- HMS Suffolk she pursued the German battleship SMS Bismarck; the cruisers later joined the battleships Rodney and King George V as part of the force that finally sank her. 2. Norfolk was part of the cruiser covering force of Convoy JW 55B when it engaged Scharnhorst. On 26 December 1943. She scored three hits on the German ship, and received several 11-in shell hits(all passing through the thin-skinned ship without exploding) in return, before she withdrew; Scharnhorst was later caught and sunk by the battleship Duke of York and her escorting cruisers and destroyers. In 1949. Norfolk returned to Britain and was placed in Reserve. She was sold to BISCO for scrapping on 3 January 1950. On 14 February 1950, she proceeded to Newport, arriving on 19 February, to be broken up after a long and proud service of 22 years, in which she gained the Norfolk lineage the majority of its battle honours, including its last.
