Tel: 01432 357753 Description: This is a very attractive Jacobean/ Carolean design two drawer dresser base/ server/ sideboard with beautiful split turned decorations with oval cabochons and panelled front legs. The dresser base stands on solid oak panelled front legs with decorative ogee mouldings forming a panel to the front legs with a classic egg shaped ovoid oval cabochon rising over with very decorative scrolled spandrels with a deep moulding above which are the split turned decorations flanking either side of the drawers and decorated on the drawer fronts. There are two panels to each drawer giving the appearance of four drawers running across the front. But forming two drawers, with original pierced ... morebatwing handles with shaped droppers, set in a plain frame with a moulded edge. The dresser has planked sides, the top being deep moulded, all in solid oak. The drawers have dovetail joints and period style drawer runners with solid oak linings. A classic piece of traditional English oak furniture. Date: The dresser base dates circa 1900- 1920. Condition: The dresser base is generally in good condition for its age. One of the handles has lost its bottom knop. Of no great significance, but worth mentioning. The dresser base retains its original finish with a rich antique patinated rich medium to dark oak colour with the darker oak phasing into a lovely medium oak.
