It is made of dark oak wood and appears to have been painted red at some point. You can see traces of red paint on it in some of the carvings and around the moldings if you look closely. There is a dark burn mark about 6 inches long on the left side of the top. The woodwork is very ornate with lots of carvings and molding on the front. The front right top edge has some nicks. ANTIQUE ART DECO JACOBEAN BURL WALNUT SIDEBOARD SOFA ENTRY BUFFET TABLE CABINET
We are pleased to offer this beautiful. Art Deco era, Jacobean style, antique walnut sideboard, buffet or sofa/entry table. This exceptionally nice piece features an abundance of ornate detailing. The front legs are substantial and feature turned and block wood. The turned, spherical sections have carved design. The pattern is made prominent by the use of darker stain in the crevices of the carving. The back legs are more streamlined and have a carved, linear center. The darker stain is again used to contrast the pattern. A sleek stretcher extends between each leg. The cabinet face is quite striking. There are 2 doors, both with inset panels of burled wood. The door pulls are wood as well. In between the doors is a large, carved acanthus leaf detail. A series of small, incised stars surrounds the cabinet's top exterior edge. The bottom ... moreof the cabinet is skirted on the sides with an arched line to the skirt. The bottom front features a decorative corbel detail on each side. There are linear accents of turned wood that adorn each corner section. Cabinet also features large interior storage. The cabinet is simply beautiful. It is in incredible condition with very little evidence of age or use. There are a few, VERY MINOR, surface scratches which are barely visible and not at all distracting. The cabinet was manufactured by the Lammert's Furniture Company in St. Louis, Missouri. The cabinet is stamped"25-93" The"25" indicates that the piece was manufactured in 1925. The carving is beautifully detailed, brass hardware. The interior of the cupboard has two side cupboards left and right with one felted silver drawer(removable as seen in photo and usable both sides) and one large center drawer nicely dovetailed. which adds great storage practicality. This brilliant sideboard is beautifully made with great detailing and is very sturdy. Patina exquisite! It was made to last for generations and is of heirloom quality. Jacobean style Buffet done in walnut produced in 1915 By Century Furniture This piece was recently evaluated by Robert Klein. A furniture and Antique historian. Below is his response to the piece. Finely done manufactured Jacobean style piece done in walnut. As is to be expected from Century. Great piece of furniture but first some issues. Someone did some cleaning to the surfaces. A bit too aggressively and inconsistently in places. Nothing that cannot be remedied and made more visually integrated. Wax would probably be a good choice here(toluene free Briwax in a walnut color) That said. This has all the hallmarks of being made in the 1910-1920s both in style, material, wood species, and even the glue used. Even the label you mention as squished cross and the V rather than a U in‘Centvry’ stamp, might be a true brand, burned and stamped ... moreinto the wood. I can see in the drawer bottom picture that hot hide glue was used. Modern plastic glues, PVA or aliphatic resin, were not used until after WWII. Were the piece all there and properly cleaned I would price it in the 1500 range in a shop. As it sits, although beautiful, the pricing would be lower.

Antique carved walnut Jacobean style sideboard buffet server
This large. Highly carved walnut server or buffet is perfect to add elegance to your dining room. Carved in the Jacobean style, and of unknown age and origin, but believed to be 1900-1950, this buffet has 3 drawers with antique brass pulls over 2 cabinet doors and one large drawer, all with antique brass pulls. The legs have the large round carving of the Jacobean style. The drawers all have dovetail joints, which is typically the mark of higher quality furniture. I love this style and the piece itself but purchased a Spanish style dining set at auction, making this available for purchase. It is in the dining room of my home currently.
