It has ... morethree matching serpentine drawers, all dovetail, in the center, two reverse curve doors that open up and two reverse curve dovetail drawers. It was made by the J.K. Rishel Furniture Company of Williamsport, Pennsylvania. There is inlay across the top, the front, and the tapered Hepplewhite legs. It’s very heavy, and of very nice quality, and we also are offering a matching server, if it is still available, so check our site. The overall size is 62 inches long, 24 inches deep, 40 inches to the top of the cabinet, and 52.5 inches to the top of the mirror. The overall condition is great, and we have re-sprayed the top to bring out the gorgeous grains of the solid mahogany used. It is finished in a light reddish brown stain, and the only flaw I can see is that someone must have transported it and put a little dent in the left hand door that doesn’t go all the way through the wood grain. We are consigning this item for a very sweet older gentleman that wants to downsize. He is very particular about the care of his furniture. It has been well cared for and still includes the key. This is a nice size for a smaller area, could also double as a desk. In the 1970 before moving from Georgia an estimate was done on the value of this piece which was $2000. Knechtels Mahogany Buffet, Sideboard (Hepplewhite Style), mid century
This piece has moved many times and the top and legs do need to be refinished as a few nicks. But a lovely design. Our parents kept their sterling silver.Crystal serving dishes and linens in it. Knechtels is out of Hanover, Ontario. Knechtels Ltd was formed in the mid 1930's but I have no idea how Blowey Henry is connected to it. The latter was established in Alberta in 1906. Pretty certain this belonged to my grandparents who passed when I was very young but I do remember it- always in our dining rooms. 20 inches deep)
