Three drawers across the top with center drawer offering felt lined utensil dividers/ tray with its original fabric. Four elaborate fluted columns in the front. Loads of detail with applied leaf carving in gold under the top shelf applied over small mahogany dentil work. The drawers and sides have applied leaf and bow carving as well. Set of double doors in the lower center and 1 door each left and right sides and all open to large are with adjustable oak interior and oak shelf. Great contrasting appearance! Doors have locking mechanisms and we have keys for them as well. Original brass handles with center drawer offering brass knobs. Drawers held tightly with mortise and round dowel pegs. I have this antique buffet made by Tomlinson Chair Manufacturing. I know this set is made before 1934, because in 1934 the Tomlinson Chair name was changed to Tomlinson of High Point. The matching table had the original tag on the bottom side of it, which is in the picture, however, the table is not for sale, this is for the buffet only. I am thinking its all Oak. The side bow doors open to a compartment, the top center silver drawer in tiger quartersawn oak, the bottom drawer for tablecloths and linens. The oval brasses are crisply cast. I've had it for over 15 years.I originally bought it in ITALY to use as a built-in kitchen cabinet(intending to drop a sink into it)this could be used as a bathroom or kitchen cabinet with a sink installed.or. Recently I've been using it as a dresser in my bedroom!HOW would YOU use it? In very good condition for it's age.some restorations. Top replaced, it presents very well, with some signs of age, ... moreone foot has splits, separations and restorations-see pics, another foot has a loss, there are various tiny holes or irregularities in the wood here and there, minor separations between the top and molding underneath, the insides of the cabinet are dusty and time-worn: one side of the interior has had the shelves removed to create one open space(see pic)the doors have a brass tack on the tops to help them stay closed. An Edwardian Sideboard. Modified by the installation of two(2) Bathroom style sinks. We are pleased to present this unusual piece of furniture for your consideration. Dating to the Edwardian era. It is a large Sideboard that has been modified by the installation of two(2) matching Bathroom Sinks, one on each side of the single massive center drawer. The Sideboard measures 37 inches high and 72 inches wide. The depth at the ends is 19-3/4 inches. While at the center the countertop extends outwards to 24-1/4 inches. The matching sinks, each with an attractive and colorful floral motif, are oval shaped and measure 19 inches wide and 16 inches deep. There are a variety of minor issues. The finish around the sink on the left side is quite worn although the underlying wood is solid. The cabinet door underneath that sink is locked and we have been ... moreunable to get it open. The door on the other side has had the strike on the lock cut through. Although it still latches shut. One of the drawer pulls on the center drawer is loose. Beyond those specific issues, there is general wear appropriate to the age of the piece. There is no significant damage or flaws, and we rate the overall condition as good to very good. The top has been revarnished for durability and stain resistance. Antique Sideboard, beautiful, nice in dining or living room. About mid 1900's.
Specs- approx 5" and 3& 1/4 inches tall at highest point without the wheels. 4' 6" wide. 10& 3/4 inches deep. This particular piece has curved cut glass on the sides and the doors. They wrap around the glass display shelf. There is an electric light inside the cabinet. Has a lion head with loop at both corners of the big drawer at the top and glass knobs on the doors that open the glass curved doors to the cabinet. I have never seen a piece like this before and fell in love with it. What a beautiful functional show piece to have in your home. This beautiful piece looks as though it has never been used and very well cared for. I haven't seen anything like it on Ebay or anywhere else. This peice rolls on wheels which I have currently removed. I actually left one of the wheels on the top surface when taking these photos. ... morePiece was measured with the wheels off. Wheels are easily put back. This is a real eye catcher. Not overly decorated but very refined.
