The sideboard is in amazing condition, with very little sign of wear ... moreat all. It is the original finish and the mirror has the original glass intact. There are a few light surface scratches to the finish from general use, but it has been very well cared for, and is in amazing condition. I am unsure of the exact age or manufacture of the piece, but I do know that was originally contructed between 1870 and 1899. The sideboard has short reverse scroll feet with beautiful carving that runs up the side supports from the feet. The sideboard has carved accents on the front of the doors, at the outer edges of the large drawer, with matching carved details on the top mirrored frame and pillar supports.

Measurements are as follows: 84"W x ... more69"T X 24"D. Weight: approx. 150-200lbs. There are a couple of small trim pieces where the backsplash meets the base that are missing, a couple that are loose. The top section of the backsplash has seperated and a couple small pieces of carved trimwork are missing as a result(can be seen in the pics) There is a small a chip on the front left edge of the table surface. One of the locks is missing from one of the doors and there is a stain on the top that can be clearly seen in the photo. Im sure there are other bumps/bruises but nothing glaring. All that having been said, this piece is really stunning in person and all of the condition issues are fairly simple repairs. The flaws I mentioned are only noticed upon close scrutiny and have never been pointed out to me by anyone who has seen it in person. Original finish is in good shape, just as it appears in the photos. The color, in person, is probably somewhere between the lightest and darkest photos. The carving on this piece is AWESOME! The quartersawn grain is heavy and pronounced. Bought this piece and the matching server, which I will be listing soon) to restore but I am out of time/space. I feel I have a reasonable opening bid on this piece but if it does not sell, I will restore it and the price will go up considerably. Personally, im kinda getting burned out on the figurals and winged griffins that usually adorn pieces of this quality so its nice to see a great piece without that typical subject matter. I am unsure if the glass in the mirror is original to the piece, but it is also in excellent condition. This sideboard has amazing carved details, and is very majestic, while being delicate and ornate at the same time. There are a few places in the top carved details where the wood is cracked and beginning to split. There is a small trim piece missing from the front top decorative piece, in the “dragon’s tail”. This can be seen in the photos. The top piece by itself is 40” tall, 48” wide, with the mirror being 23” wide, 29.25” top to bottom, the trim at the top of the piece is 51” wide. There is 11.5” from the shelf to the top overhang of the piece.

The shaped back splash has a beveled mirror and the cabinet doors are decorated with carvings in the outside upper corners. The drawers slide in and out easily and the cabinet doors both lock with included key. The inside of the right drawer used to have ... moregreen felt that was partially removed. Leaving the inside of the drawer with a green tinge(see picture) There is normal wear throughout in the form of tiny dings here and there, but overall this buffet is in very good condition and quite sturdy. The drawers are made with hand cut dovetails which gives you an idea of the high level of craftsmanship that went into this sideboard. The sideboard is 36" tall to the counter and 46.5" tall to the top of the back splash. Plenty of storage space in this sideboard! The cabinet doors both lock. These carved decorations adorn the outside upper corners of the doors. Each drawer has two solid brass pulls. The drawers are made with hand cut dovetails. The right drawer used to have green felt inside. Now it has a green tinge from where that felt was removed. The counter top has minor wear in the form of tiny dings or stains. What I have here is an outstanding Empire style tiger oak sideboard/ buffet circa 1900 with a tag from Picture Rocks. PA. The tag(photo shown) indicates the Burrows Bros. Co. Ltd. as the manufacturer. A fellow named Amos Burrows started the furniture co. in Lycoming County. Pennsylvania in 1856 and the enterprise was sold in 1939. This one is from the Burrow's Brothers unique"Roller Guide Line. Two tiny wooden wheels hold each drawer in place and enable smooth gliding back and forth. Some information on the manufacturer's history can be found on the internet at usgennet.org/usa/pa/county/lycoming/history/Chapter-31.html There are Claw feet in the front and straight legs in the back. All legs have the original wooden rollers for easily moving this piece around. The overall dimensions are 48" W x 22 1/2" D x 61 1/2" ... moreH. The height to the first level is 39" The height to the second level is 56 1/2" The two levels are connected by columns. The mirror is the original beveled mirror with the dimensions 37"W x 13"H. It has 2 drawers on top that are each 20 1/2" long. There is 1 long drawer in the middle of the piece that is 42" long. At the botto m are 2 doors w/ post in-between. There is a large open storage area behind these doors. The drawers and doors have beautiful decorative brass knobs as pulls(photo shown) Some minor imperfections- as shown in pictures- are: varnish spot(top left side) slight warpage of veneer in one spot(top right ride) and two spots of discoloration in mirror The 2 drawers on top. The long drawer in the middle, and the two bottom doors, all have keyholes for locking, but no key. Overall condition is very good. Considering its age. We've really cared for this piece. This beautiful late nineteenth to early twentieth century quartersawn oak sideboard has beautiful carvings including g riffins on top. Carved lion feet, a large beveled mirror with candle stands and long display shelf above as well as a lovely server surface, drawers and open cabinet space behind decorative doors below. The wood grains on this pieces are gorgeous, the front edge has a slight serpentine front and the detailed carvings including applique and trip work are spectacular and appear to be intact. This piece is on it's original casters so it can be moved easily. I show the casters in close up behind the decorative front carved lion's foot. This large sideboard stands 79 inches tall and measures 47 1/2 inches wide by 22 inches deep. Front to back. It travels safely and easily in two parts. The base is 38 inches tall and includes ... moretwo small drawers, each 18 inches wide by 15 1/2 inches front to back and 4 inches deep, one of which is a buffet drawer, lined in old maroon felt. Below them is another large drawer, 38 inches wide by 15 1/2 inches front to back ans 5 1/4 inches deep. Below the drawers behind the two lovely doors with the beautiful wood applique is open cabinet space 42 inches wide by 15 1/2 inches front to back and 14 inches tall. The top section of this sideboard measures 41 inches tall. The candle stands are 8 inches above the top work surface and the display shelf that runs the width of the piece is 26 inches above this top server surface, which is also the top of the base. The wonderful carved columns add even further to the beauty of this spectacular old sideboard which was purchased through an old Charleston family estate sale, so I can not be sure if it is English or American made, but it is a terrific cabinet and will make an excellent addition to your home or place of business. Beautiful heavy carvings of grapes and other Arts and Crafts style motifs, lovely probably original metal Arts& Crafts hardware and keys for the lower cabinet. This wonderful solid oak sideboard has bun feet and a lovely carved bonnet on top and is overall just a striking piece in a tall but workable size. This sideboard stands 73 1/2 inches tall by 48 inches wide by 18 1/2 inches front to back overall, but travels in two pieces- the base 40 inches tall by 48 inches wide by 18 1/2 inches front to back; and the top section- 33 1/2 inches tall by 45 inches wide by 9 3/4 inches front to back. The sideboard has an open niche to the centre with frieze drawer above. This drawer is constructed with hand cut dovetail joints and benefits from having it's original swan neck handles. This is flanked by 2 cupboards. The left hand cupboard has a single shelf to the inside which is enclosed with a panel door complete with original handle and original working lock and key. The right hand cupboard has a slide drawer to the inside and again is enclosed with a panel door but this one has a later working lock. The top is good but does have some marks commensurate with it's age. The stage back has ... moreit's original bevel edge mirror which does have some minor foxing. This is further flanked by 2 flame mahogany molded panels. The sideboard has been polished with a coat of wax giving a warm patination. Dating from the 1900s to 1910s. This is a mahogany dainty maple pinstripe sideboard in the Hepplewhite style with a mirror back. It has ... morethree matching serpentine drawers, all dovetail, in the center, two reverse curve doors that open up and two reverse curve dovetail drawers. It was made by the J.K. Rishel Furniture Company of Williamsport, Pennsylvania. There is inlay across the top, the front, and the tapered Hepplewhite legs. It’s very heavy, and of very nice quality, and we also are offering a matching server, if it is still available, so check our site. The overall size is 62 inches long, 24 inches deep, 40 inches to the top of the cabinet, and 52.5 inches to the top of the mirror. The overall condition is great, and we have re-sprayed the top to bring out the gorgeous grains of the solid mahogany used. It is finished in a light reddish brown stain, and the only flaw I can see is that someone must have transported it and put a little dent in the left hand door that doesn’t go all the way through the wood grain. I love this piece but have no room for it. Its very clean. Has been refinished, but the restoration was well done. The mirror is original with some shadowing.
