Good overall condition, This quaint English oak sideboard was made around 1940 and is the perfect size for a variety of places in the home. The shaped back splash has a beveled mirror and the cabinet doors are decorated with carvings in the outside upper corners. The drawers slide in and out easily and the cabinet doors both lock with included key. The inside of the right drawer used to have ... moregreen felt that was partially removed. Leaving the inside of the drawer with a green tinge(see picture) There is normal wear throughout in the form of tiny dings here and there, but overall this buffet is in very good condition and quite sturdy. The drawers are made with hand cut dovetails which gives you an idea of the high level of craftsmanship that went into this sideboard. The sideboard is 36" tall to the counter and 46.5" tall to the top of the back splash. Plenty of storage space in this sideboard! The cabinet doors both lock. These carved decorations adorn the outside upper corners of the doors. Each drawer has two solid brass pulls. The drawers are made with hand cut dovetails. The right drawer used to have green felt inside. Now it has a green tinge from where that felt was removed. The counter top has minor wear in the form of tiny dings or stains. This listing is for the beautiful antique Victorian golden oak sidebar/buffet/china cabinet one piece unit with 7 drawer s that I have pictured for you. We have used it in our home for many years as an entertainment center and bookshelves/doll display area. The drawers have been used to store DVDs. VHS tapes, books, DVD player, as well as other things. The unit is 79 inches wide at the top. The end panels extend out from the wall 17 inches. The shelf where the TV is placed is 23 inches wide and it bows out in the center(pictured for you) The TV pic tur ed is a 32 inch flat screen and allows for the opening of both bookcase doors. There are 4 applied trim pieces formed of plaster along the top of the unit and I have pictured each one for you so you can see where there is damage to 3 of them. The pulls on the drawers are original to the piece ... moreas are the two latches to the doors of the bookcases. The bookcase doors are each 50" high by 16 1/2" wide. Both bookcase doors have the original wavy glass. The back of both bookcase sections is wains cote oak as is the inside piece of each bookcase. kAs pictured. There are two shelves in each bookcase; there are two additional shelves stored in the bottom center drawer of the unit. Dimensions of the drawers follows: two are 11" by 17" three are 24 1/2" by 17" and two are 16 1/2" by 13 1/4" The bevel edge mirror is in an area 24 1/2" wide. There are small holes drilled at the back of this area to allow the wiring for the TV and the DVD player and the USB cord for the TV to be brought in from the backside. The center section shelf extends outward from the base display case 5 inches at each sides and approximately 7 inches in the center(due to the bowed design) The piece is very heavy and will require 2 men to remove it from our residence after the drawers and glass doors are removed from the unit. What I have here is an outstanding Empire style tiger oak sideboard/ buffet circa 1900 with a tag from Picture Rocks. PA. The tag(photo shown) indicates the Burrows Bros. Co. Ltd. as the manufacturer. A fellow named Amos Burrows started the furniture co. in Lycoming County. Pennsylvania in 1856 and the enterprise was sold in 1939. This one is from the Burrow's Brothers unique"Roller Guide Line. Two tiny wooden wheels hold each drawer in place and enable smooth gliding back and forth. Some information on the manufacturer's history can be found on the internet at usgennet.org/usa/pa/county/lycoming/history/Chapter-31.html There are Claw feet in the front and straight legs in the back. All legs have the original wooden rollers for easily moving this piece around. The overall dimensions are 48" W x 22 1/2" D x 61 1/2" ... moreH. The height to the first level is 39" The height to the second level is 56 1/2" The two levels are connected by columns. The mirror is the original beveled mirror with the dimensions 37"W x 13"H. It has 2 drawers on top that are each 20 1/2" long. There is 1 long drawer in the middle of the piece that is 42" long. At the botto m are 2 doors w/ post in-between. There is a large open storage area behind these doors. The drawers and doors have beautiful decorative brass knobs as pulls(photo shown) Some minor imperfections- as shown in pictures- are: varnish spot(top left side) slight warpage of veneer in one spot(top right ride) and two spots of discoloration in mirror The 2 drawers on top. The long drawer in the middle, and the two bottom doors, all have keyholes for locking, but no key. Overall condition is very good. Considering its age. We've really cared for this piece. I love this piece but have no room for it. Its very clean. Has been refinished, but the restoration was well done. The mirror is original with some shadowing. Beautiful carved oak buffet. lower doors are carved and upper 2 drawers are rounded. the top looks to be an add on and not matching wood but still go nicely with the piece. The long drawer in the middle needs slight repair to the bottom of the drawer to keep it from sticking. original glass knobs are gone but easily found in antique markets.this piece was covered in multiple layers of oil paint. i stripped and stained it about 15 years ago. 24" deep. 48" wide, 55" high, and without mirror 37" high Item is for local pick up. This is a 2 section piece with a removable mirror top. Item is structurally sound and in overall good condition. Two small veneer repairs were done prior to listing(shown) Bottom of the legs have light to moderate chips. Moderate side was depicted in the only picture shown. Mirror is secured well. Mirror was not designed to support more than it's own weight. Like leaning against it or laying your arm on top of it. Edges of the mirror have some spotting. Presenting this lovely Arts& Crafts oak buffet with over-mantel. It is 48" wide by 70" tall and 21" deep. Notice the carved stylized peacocks on the doors and original hardware. And two candle shelves. This piece is in good clean order. The beveled leaded mirrors have some frosting, but that makes them look antique. We are moving in late July so arrangements must be made to pick this up up by July 24th. If this does not sell on line before July 10th, it will be included in our moving sale. The long drawer in the middle needs slight repair to the bottom of the drawer to keep it from sticking. original glass knobs are gone but easily found in antique markets.this piece was covered in multiple layers of oil paint. The hinges to doors are missing. One door is cracked but can be repaired with glue. Antique Arts & Crafts Mission Oak Buffet Sideboard With Mirror and Hidden Drawer
Up for auction is a very nice Antique Mission Oak Arts& Crafts Sideboard/Buffet. It is solid oak- very sturdy and very heavy. The mirror/shelf can be detached and it can be used as a server without the mirror if you like. It is in great shape for furniture of this age but it does have some rings on the surface(see 3rd photo- the picture makes them look worse than they are- nothing a quick surface refinishing wouldn't fix) I guestimate this is around 100 years old. It has all original hardware. Mirror, and a key as seen in the photos. From first glance it appears there are only 3 drawers(2 at the top- one of which has divided sections lined with brown velvet for your silverware- and a large drawer at the bottom) BUT it actually has a HIDDEN 4th DRAWER(see the 4th photo) It measures 23(d) X 54(w) X 53(h) I love this piece but we are ... moremoving and won't have room for it in the new place so my loss is your gain(I have set a low reserve as I know I have to sell this before the movers arrive) Please look at all the photos and ask all questions before bidding- if no one has placed a bid and you want to make an offer, let me know- I can always change it to a"Buy it now" option if no one has yet placed a bid. Early 20th century tiger oak server/buffet with beveled mirror over four drawers and three door cupboards. Original brass hardware intact. Good condition for age. Measurements are 5' wide. 25" deep and 55" high(including mirror and shelf) Server has wood carved grape decorations. There is one dark stain on top surface of server, a veneer issue on right hand front corner, and a missing piece to one of the grape decorations(see photos) A partial newspaper dated 1905 was found inside the top middle drawer.
