The dresser base stands on solid oak panelled front legs with decorative ogee mouldings forming a panel to the front legs with a classic egg shaped ovoid oval cabochon rising over with very decorative scrolled spandrels with a deep moulding above which are the split turned decorations flanking either side of the drawers and decorated on the drawer fronts. There are two panels to each drawer giving the appearance of four drawers running across the front. This super vintage French oak buffet would date to the early/ middle part of the 20th century and is in very good condition. The buffet has 2 full height cupboards to each side which has 2 shelves to the inside all of which are adjustable up and down to suit individual requirements. This is enclosed with fine carved panel doors both of which have their original working locks with keys. This is further complimented with the central cupboard with frieze drawer above and open niche above this. The top with it's pretty splash back is all good with no significant marks. Here is an absolutely fabulous find if you are looking for a gorgeous oak sideboard or perhaps welsh dresser base to serve as an additional counter. Large flat screen TV stand, work surface, server or even hallway table or console piece in any room in your home or business. Arriving with my consignors most recent shipment of antiques from the UK, this gorgeous old sideboard has some nice age and I attempt to use my photographs to show it's quality construction and ample functional storage in a wonderful solid wood cabinet. This piece has two large side drawers and four central drawers, all beautifully dovetailed and two of which are actually divided felt lined drawers. On each side is functional open cabinet space behind decorative wood doors and the piece appears to have it's original old hardware as well.
