Antique English Betjemann's Perfume Tantalus c.1910
An absolutely stunning antique perfume Tantalus made covered in an early resin to look like Tortoiseshell. The wonderful quality fittings which one would expect by the top-notch maker Betjemann's of London retain their original gilding creating a very regal look. There is not a key. I have had our locksmith look at it and he is certain the mechanism wasn't made to lock; the lock barrel is pulled down to fold the bar to one side allowing access to the three original cut crystal bottles. Dating to the early twentieth century, it remains in superb condition. The footprint of the frame measures 10 1/2" x 4 1/4" x 7 3/4" tall to top of handle. Antique Biedermeier Canary Flint Vaseline Glass Perfume Bottle Enameled c 1840 This is an absolutely gorgeous perfume or scent bottle! I’m not an expert. And at first, I thought that it was Moser or Bohemian. However, after a bit of research, it’s possible that it was made by the Boston& Sandwich Glass company. What I’m a little unsure of is if this is Canary Flint or“vaseline” glass as both glow bright green under an ultraviolet light(see photos) The glass is fairly thick, and it can be either towards a canary or a green color depending on the lighting that it is in. I’ve shot the piece both back lit, and with white and black backgrounds as well as under a UV lamp. The piece is absolutely Biedermeier period in form- the Biedermeier period dates to between 1815 and 1848. The glass is decorated in enamel paint with rosettes, scrolls and ... moregold detailing. The piece measures 7 1/2” in height to the top of the stopper and weighs 9.6 oz. It is in very good condition with the exception of a fleabite type chip to the tip top of the stopper and some similar types of tiny nibbles around the bottom edges. In addition, there is some old perfume residue in the bottom interior of the bottle. The damage is all very negligible and mentioned only in the interest of full disclosure- the piece displays very well. The square base measures 2 3/16” across. This is a beautiful antique piece of hand cut crystal with nice clarity and brilliant reflections on the surfaces. The unusual curved design of the cutting on this square bottle is stunning. It weighs just under 1 lb. There is a small chip on the rim and a tiny flake on the bottom edge. The sides are a pretty pastel pink color~undoubtedly hand painted. There i s hand painted gilt around the top opening as well as on each panel. The blown glass stopper is from Murano. Italy~one I bought a few years back on a journey to Venice& Murano, Italy. It is a new one(not old like the bottle) fits the top perfectly. Stamped on the very bottom porcelain is" Bavaria" Last photo. This sweet bottle has no chips. Flakes, cracks or damage anywhere. Antique 5" Bohemian Czech Art Cameo Glass Perfume Bottle w/ Cut Glass Stopper
If you're a collector of art glass then you know you've come across something special in this Bohemian Czech perfume bottle! Bohemian art glass was made in what is now the Czech Republic and Austria in the early twentieth century. This example is cut-to-clear or cameo glass and has a white glass exterior that is cut through with eight ovals or teardrops to show the underlying cranberry-colored glass. The white glass is decorated with hand-painted blue. Red, purple, and pink flowers. The rim of the bottle is scalloped and accented in gold. The stopper is clear cut glass and has a turreted hexagonal shape with small bubbles visible in the glass. We're not sure if this is the original stopper, but this is how it came from the estate; it fits, and is the correct shape for a stopper for a Bohemian glass perfume bottle. There are 3 cologne bottles with stoppers. One atomizer, one tumbler and one lidded dresser box. Several of the items are acid etched CRISTAL NANCY FRANCE along with the Cross of Lorraine in a circle on the bottom. According to a reference by Michel Colle. Cristalleries de Nancy was located directly across from the well known Nancy Daum and had made off with several of their glass blowers. This is an antique perfume bottle made in New York between 1859 to 1928 according to the metal mark on the bottom. The frame is silver overlay. It measures 6" tall by 3" wide at the base. The mark on the bottom is a star with a spider web pattern and a number 315. This mark represents GE Webster company of New York. I did not polish the silver. Because some antique collectors prefer antiques in its original state. The perfume bottle has a cruet style dauber and there is a chip on the inside edge of the dauber. the rest of the bottle is in beautiful shape for its age.

Antique Gorham Perfume Bottle with Silver Overlay This is an Antique Glass Perfume Bottle with Silver Overlay made by Gorham. The bottle measures almost 4 3/4" tall with the stopper(see photo# 12) and almost 3 3/4" without the stopper. Both the bottle and the stopper have no chips or cracks and the silver on the bottle has not been monogrammed. The bottle is marked with both a style number(D908) and the Gorham Maker's Mark(see photo# 11) The style of the Gorham Company Maker's Mark indicates that the bottle was made during the last quarter of the 19th century. Antique Alvin Perfume Bottle with Silver Overlay This is an Antique Glass Perfume Bottle with Silver Overlay made by Alvin Manufacturing Co.
