Up for auction is a Cut Glass Perfume Bottle ot Decanter with a Hallmarked ... moreSterling Silver Lid. I am not good with hallmarks but I have taken a photos for you. The lid is huge and beutifully decorated. The hinge works perfectly and the sterling lid is secure to the bottle. The inside of the lid still retains it's nice gold wash. There is a dent to the lid as you will see in the photos. The bottle is free of chips. Cracks& repairs. However, whatever liquid used to be stored in this bottle has left a residue to the top 1/4 of the bottle. It has also left the rest of the bottle with an slightly iridescent cast to it. Very strange but you will see what I mean in the photos. This is one of those bottles you almost pass up but then just due to it's size and lovely details in the lid and cut glass you decide it's worth the trouble. I have not attempted to remove the"residue" so perhaps some of it will come off ~ I do not know. I have broken too many a bottle while trying to scrub them up. So now just a light dusting and if they are presentable- I leave the major cleaning to you. The bottle is heavy and I imagine just the silver lid alone would be worth a bit of money. The lid is 2 1/4 inches tall and 1 1/2 inches across at the widest. Shoot. Just the lid is as big as some sterling silver bottles alone! The total height of the bottle(lid& glass) is 6 1/4 inches tall and the width across the widest part is 3 1/2 inches. Just so you know what a conversation piece it is.when my daughter asked what used to be in the bottle I told her it was probably"the potion of some Mad Victorian Era Scientist.maybe Frankenstien himself" I couldn't resist having a little fun at her expense. VTG DeVilbiss Green Glass Coin Spot Opalescent Perfume Bottle Marked Made USA
Here I have a Beautiful vintage green glass perfume bottle with opalescent dots. Coin Spot pattern. Missing the atomizer, most got hardened and were thrown out. Marked on the bottom: Made De Vilbiss USA in a silver tone ink. The glass is a soft. See through green glass, the"dots" are opalescent. When a black light is turned on the glass looks almost clear and the"dots" are yellow, this shows there is Uranium in the glass. See the photos. DeVilbiss had many companies that made his perfume bottles. Including Steuben, Imperial, Cambridge, Tiffin, Fry, Libbey and Vineland Glass Works. His network also circled the globe. The perfumes were categorized with a simple letter system, Series A, these were the less expensive ones that had a paper tag. This is why you will find DeVilbiss bottles with no name. The B Series were of higher ... morequality and were marked with gilt or silver lettering on the base, like this perfume bottle. I believe this to be a Fenton Coin Dot but have not found THIS bottle in any of my 4 Fenton books. 3 1/4" tall. 3 1/4" across the widest spot, has its brass fitting but no atomizer. Antique Baccarat Marked and Guerlain Marked and Signed Jicky Perfume bottle. Manufactured by Baccarat. Starting in 1889 for the perfume Jicky. Baccarat continued to manufacture this bottle for Guerlains Jicky into the early 1900's. It was also used for Rue Dela Paix in 1908. Then Shalimar and Jicky were sold in this bottle for a short period of time in the 1940's. A modified version is used today. Note: Guerlain moved to 68 Champs-Elysees Paris in 1914; see paper label. Note that the mushroom stopper was notched for a wire fastener. The Baccarat mark and"Guerlain" is acid-etched on the bottom and the number"50" is engraved as well. Both are in very good, gently used condition. Both pieces are wrapped in an intricate vine and iris pattern overlay of delicate 999 Fine Alvin Sterling Silver. Both the bottle and the stopper are marked on the bottom of the glass with the number 799, and so are a matched set. The bottle has an oval area that is perfect for your monogram or cartouche. This bottle dates back to the 1870 to 1900 era. The mold lines end on the neck. It is clear and embossed on bottom B& L. Size: 4 3/4" long. 1 1/2" high at greatest point. I have no idea how much older it is from the day they gave it to me but it certainly wasn’t new then. Over the years it has been packed away with my mother’s estate and the perfume has evaporated but the bottle is in perfect condition. Please note that the photos were taken in a RING box so you have some idea of the size. The bottle is 1 ½” X 1” weighs one oz. and has an emblem on the back that is stamped“WESTERN GERMANY” The filigree detail that surrounds the bottle is quite intricate and has a prong set rose tone crystal that is featured on the left bottom side of the bottle. This is for a beautiful porcelain rhinestone perfume bottle. The bottle has a gold tone metal around the neck that flows down with rhinestones. The bottle does have two small chips on the top near where the stopper goes in and is also missing two rhinestones as well. The bottle measures about 11" tall. Old circa late 1800's beautiful cut glass lay down perfume with marked sterling top with sterling hallmarks(please see attached pictures) Item is 4&5/8" long. The glass is all hand cut, and the lid intricately detailed as shown. Under the lid hinge it is marked STERLING as shown and the hallmarks across from the sterling mark are as follows: C&S(not sure about the C definitely an S, though) lion facing left, an n or an h, and a sideways anchor. Condition is as follows: There are some tiny pinhead flakes on the glass and the sterling is tarnished as shown. Antique Alvin Silver Overlay Perfume Bottle You are viewing a very pretty Antique ALVIN SILVER of Providence. RI Perfume Bottle. This bottle features a 999/1000 Fine Silver overlay with a floral pattern and No Monogram. The bottle measures 5 1/4" tall by approximately 2 3/4" wide. The bottom of the bottle and stopper are both marked/etched with what appears to be 50 or SO(please see photos) As stated above in the Condition Description. This bottle is in Excellent shape with no chips, cracks or repairs. There is one small. Clean"split" and slight"buckle" in the silver overlay towards the base(please see the last photo) I'm not an expert on these collectible silver overlay scent bottles. But it appears that this split could be soldered with a fairly straight forward repair. I'll leave it to the experts ... moreto determine. Rare Antique Amethyst Perfume Bottle Marked France - With Lid 2.75" Early 1900's
Auction features very early(would guess early 1900's age) amethyst perfume bottle with glass lid. I'm not sure of the fragrance or line of perfume but the bottle is very high quality and was obviously a very high end item for it's day. Height of bottle from bast to the top of lid when attached is approximately 2.6" and width measures just over 1.5" Miniature perfume bottle when held to the light is visibly purple.
