DeVILBISS PERFUME ATOMIZER BOTTLE I am placing this beautiful perfume bottle up for auction hoping that a new buyer will love it as much as I have during the past 35 years. From the 1920’s. Comes this stunning amber-gold etched glass with Cardinal Red squeeze bulb atomizer or“Perfumizer” as described by DeVilbiss in their 1920 catalog. Yes. Made by DeVilbiss, this piece is just too beautiful to describe without photos so I’ve added many to help me describe this antique hard to find piece. It measures about 7 1/2 inches high and the round base is 2 1/2" in diameter and made out of celluloid. All glass. Metal, fabric, fasteners, and squeeze bulb is in excellent condition however the rare celluloid pink base shows slight water stains and it may have been re-glued to the glass during its history. The bottom of the perfume. Cologne, toilet water atomizer is marked with a circle with a straight line down the center. I have no idea who's maker mark this is. The bulb is dry rotted and needs to be replace, but the glass part of the atomizer is in very nice condition. No chips or cracks. Atomizer stands approximately 3 1/2" tall. Rare antique Holmes Perfumer for your consideration I have a rare Perfume Bottle It is made By the Holmes Co. out of Boston Seldom do you see a Holmes Bottle at auction. They have a little different design of the brass hardware. There is a screw at the neck near the nosel that you can turn to seal air from getting into the bottle. It has directions on the org. tag attached to the bottle. there is one flaw in this bottle and it is common with the Holmes Bottle. The flaw is in the brass collar.it is thin and most of them get a crack or slit in the metal on the side.just like this bottle. It still works alright.but that's what happen to alot of these bottles. This bottle is in near excellent condition(except the collar) the crack can be seen in picture 21 the next to ... morethe last picture. I would like to point out that the bulb and hose are still soft and in excellent antique condition. this bottle should work if you actully wanted to use it. the brass is shiny gold and has no pits. The glass is blue and is beautifully etched with flowers and leaves. the Holmes co. Boston tag on the foot and the org Holmes Perfumer tag hanging from the side screw. this bottle is from my private collection.it displays beautifully. the other items shown are not included but available for sale. no cracks in the glass. It has a lovely amber color stone at the top which may be glass but I am not 100% positive of its material composition. It does look very pretty with the amber glass bottle. This stone is surrounded by non-glass beads(some type of plastic? The top screws onto the bottle easily and securely. The stone and beads combine into a beautiful flower top with delicate metal holding the top amber color stone in place. Measures approximately 4 inches in height(with top on) and just about 2-1/2 inches in width(at center point) Atomizer pumps air easily but I have never put perfume in it. Original blue foil/paper label is attached on the bottom. It indicates that it was imported by the Irving W. Rice Company(New York) and that it was Made in West Germany. My research found that Irice bottles made in West Germany. With plastic daubers, were made around the 50's. I have loved it for its beauty and simplicity and just learned more about Irice recently. I envision this little bottle being given as a gift or perhaps they saved their hard earned money just to buy this one special bottle- what joy they must have felt. It is very pretty and can now be a part of your vintage perfume bottle collection and maybe find a home on your vanity tray. Antique / Vintage GREEN ETCHED GLASS Perfume Bottle with ATOMIZER & BULB
Item Description While starting bids may vary I ALWAYS POST WITH NO RESERVE! Up for auction is green glass perfume bottle with etched designs. No chips. Cracks or repairs. The bottle is very clean inside and out. This bottle will take a dauber top& I think I have an extra one so I may try to get a photo for you so you can see it both ways. The atomizer that is on the bottle now just slips over the collar and is a nice snug fit. There are a few tiny splits in the lower part of the atomizer lid and it could use a good polish. The internal metal syphon tube that is part of the lid is intact. The gold bulb is new. It is hard to see the etched design in the photos but I did my best. It really is much prettier in person. There is a rough pontil on the bottom/base. It is 5 5/8 inches tall and the base is 1 3/4 inches in diameter which is a little ... moresmaller than the widest part of the bottle. I will look for a dauber and try to get a photo so you can see it presented both ways. The green is such a beautiful emerald color.
