Opposite end has a hinged cap,that flips open to reveal a gold gilded,fancy cut-out designed screen. This would be the end that held salts,back in the day. For your consideration is what I believe to be a Victorian era antique ruby red cased crystal perfume bottle. Approx 6.75 inches tall. It is in beautiful condition with a few scratches on bottom and flea nics which only show when you pick the piece up and turn it over. This is sold as found. As is and does not have a lid or atomizer. The detailing is gorgeous with what appears to be hand cut stars and a diamond like floral or cross pattern around the piece. The inside of the bottle looks like a white glass. The metal top looks as if it could be a worn gold wash with tarnish and wear This metal top is firmly attached and does not unscrew which makes me think it had an atomizer and/or cap at one time. You are looking at an antique Blown ruby colored glass perfume with gold painted décor. The bottle shows some gold ware but is in near perfect condition otherwise. The décor is flowers and butterfly. As you can see the bottom is marked with an 8. The stopper to the item is shown damaged and has been glued before. I just don't want to damage it. Antique, RARE Ruby Red Glass Victorian Perfume Bottle with Sterling Silver
Beautiful. Rare and elegant, with faceted glass and ornate repousse silver hinged flip top lid. Glass is hand-blown and a rich ruby red found in decorative glass pieces of the Victorian era. These bottles first appeared in the late 1700's, but it wasn't until the mid-1800's that they were in general use. Their popularity waned during the late 1800's, but they continued to be made until the turn of the century. This item is in excellent condition, the silver carved hinge lid in perfect working order, with only a slight unevenness to the silver caused by opening and closing the lid and a slight patina to the silver. The faceted glass has a few nicks, but overall, it is in perfect shape. The bottle may have been worn around a lady's neck, as was the style of the age. Generally, a customer purchased the perfume bottle empty ... moreand had it filled by a chemist or perfumier, as ready-filled bottles of perfume were not yet on the market. This one contains a remnant of the owners' original perfume content, now a dried out solid. Excellent, low price for high value, rare piece- check out similar items being sold on the web. Antique 19th C French RUBY RED Glass Perfume BOTTLE with Bronze ORMOLU Mounts
Up for your consideration is this fabulous. Beautiful,rare, 19th century, probably French red glass perfume bottle. Made of thick ruby red glass, the bottle is mounted inside elaborate bronze base and bottle neck with handles. Bronze have beautiful relief of vine leafs and grapes all around the bottle neck and on the bottom plate with bronze cut in shape of grape leafs. The stopper is tall, 6 panels cut,with frosted dauber which is marked on the bottom in red with number 93. The perfume bottle is in mint condition for it's age, there are 2 imperfections on glass,one near the neck,tiny cut in hot glass and pin head burst air bubble near the bottom. Most of this type bohemian glass was produced my the Sandwich Glass company. The bottle measures 7.5" tall to the top of the original stopper.The bottle has a beautiful wheel cut grape pattern around the body. Condition is excellent with no chips. Cracks, repairs or scratching to the flashed ruby finish.This blown bottle has a clear glass bottom with a nice pontil mark, no cloudiness to the bottle. 19th century ruby glass perfume bottle with stopper
This gorgeous. Octagonal perfume is a deep, pigeon's blood ruby red cased glass with stopper. Ruby glass is made by adding gold to molten glass. The deeper the color, the higher the gold content. Because of the high cost of gold, ruby glass pieces have always been made in smaller, craft quantities. This particular bottle is cased in ruby. If you were this old. You might have a defect or two. The third photo shows a flea bite on one of the edges. There is also a small scuff mark at the top of one of the vertical panels that will not photograph, even under a macro lens. It is noticeable upon close examination, but does not go anywhere near through the ruby flashing. No attempts were made to polish this out. Stopper has a V carved at the apex- this is not a defect. Antique English Double Ended Ruby Red Perfume Bottle - Victorian Sterling Silver
A really pretty and charming perfume or scent bottle in a fabulous rich ruby red colour. This is a slightly more unusual example of a Victorian double ended bottle. This one having a cylindrical form rather than the more often seen faceted type. The lids too are a little more unusual, again made from sterling(unmarked as most of these bottles were not) silver with a pretty floral embossed decoration. One end is hinged, with the little glass stopper intact and the other end is a screw-top with the cork to the inside of the lid to keep the liquid from evaporation. VICTORIAN DOUBLE-ENDED PERFUME/SCENT BOTTLE.RUBY RED,STERLING Here is a Victorian era double-ended perfume or scent bottle. The silver cap on one end is threaded and screws off. The other end has an etched silver has a hinge. The hinge needs repair but the cap fits the bottle snugly. There are some dings in both caps. The glass bottle is cranberry. Ruby red, faceted cut and in good condition, with small flea bites and scratches. The silver caps are both etched, not marked. The length is about 5 inches. Please ask if there are any questions. Ruby Red Cased Glass Perfume Bottle, Crystal Stopper w Scent Dauber, Large, Rare
This listing is for a stunning Antique- Vintage Ruby Red Cased in Crystal Perfume Bottle with the Original Crystal Stopper and Scent Dauber. The bottle has an Art Deco shape with a broad base and arched panels. The piece has a red glass interior cased in crystal. The crystal casing is most apparent at the bottom and top rim. But is also visible on the edges from the proper angle. The base is ground flat and highly polished. The neck is ground and etched to fit the glass stopper. The stopper top is polished crystal with three rows of six panels. The crystal is amazing creating a prism effect with sunlight. The scent dauber is attached on the interior of the stopper with a white material. We've not seen this method of attaching the rod and are unsure what material is holding it in place. The dauber is very secure but does have slight wiggle ... morewith proper force. We've never seen this bottle style before with such stunning color. Quality, clarity and craftsmanship. The crystal portion glows slightly green under UV light. The red glows a bright orange. We'd guess the piece dates to the early 1900's due to the style, but could certainly be older. The quality, clarity and craftsmanship of the piece is indicative of French or Bohemian glass of the period, though there were artisans in America, England, Italy and others using similar techniques during the suspected period of production. The bottle measures 4 1/2" by 2 1/4" at the base. And 4 1/8" high without the stopper. The dauber measures 2 7/8" long. The stopper 6 1/4" from the rod to tip and 2 1/4" high when in place. With the stopper in place the bottle measures nearly 6 1/2" high and weighs 1 lb 2.1 oz. The stopper and dauber are in pristine condition with no cracks or chips. The grinding process on the stopper where it makes contact with the bottle is excellent with slight unevenness along the top edge. The crystal is impeccably clear. Minus the etched stopper portion of course. The dauber is fantastic and complete.

Antique RUBY RED GLASS DOUBLE ENDED Perfume Bottle STERLING SILVER REPOUSSE LIDS
Item Description While starting bids may vary I ALWAYS POST WITH NO RESERVE! Up for auction is a Ruby Red. Double Ended Glass Perfume Bottle with Sterling Silver Lids. There are no makers marks or sterling mark. I did test it with my home kit and the result was Sterling Silver.925 or better. Both lids have tiny dents that you will hardly notice due to the design. The hinged lid is in perfect condition and the lid snaps shut tightly. The side with the hinged lid also has it's original glass stopper. There are a couple nibbles to the stopper but it's very rare to find it still with the bottle. The lids on these are not identical but the designs are made to compliment each other and you will see what I mean in the photos. No holes or splits to the sterling lids and the designs are very pretty. The glass bottle has no chips, cracks or ... morerepairs. If you inspect it closely with a loupe you will find a few microscopic nips to the glass. You won't see them in the photos as I could not get them to show up. The bottle is 4 1/4 inches log and just shy of 1 inch wide. This is a classic favorite among bottle collectors& you'll be proud to have it in your collection.
