LOVELY 19th C. ENGLISH COBALT GLASS DOUBLE ENDED SCENT BOTTLE, ORNATE BRASS TOPS
Welcome to Antiques& Moore! This listing is for a beautiful. Large English cobalt cut crystal lay-down, double-ended scent bottle, c. 1880. The bottle has brilliant dark cobalt coloration in the glass and has a panel cut body with bevel cut shoulders. Measures 4 7/8" long and 1 1/8" wide. The brass flip up ends have an intricately embossed design and the hinges are in good condition and close tightly. The interior stoppers are missing and one end has some corrosion on the interior(see photos) No other condition problems. The bottle is in excellent Estate condition with no other noted damage. This is a very nice antique scent bottle in an unsually large size that would be a wonderful addition to any perfume bottle collection. BLUE OPALINE GLASS EMBOSSED PAINTED ENAMEL SCENT BOTTLE Ormolu Brass Stand
This French Blue Opaline blown glass scent bottle features embossed raised painted decoration and is displayed in a custom brass filigree stand. It's a lovely bottle when displayed from one side. However it has been damaged and repaired with a crack in the neck on the other side. Also the bottom part of the stopper is broken off and stuck inside the neck of the bottle. The brown stains from what looks like glue residue or perhaps the perfume once inside seem to come off with a little rubbing, but I only tried Windex. I think a stronger solvent or a soaking would remove it which I was hesitant to do. Note that the dark sort of stripe beneath the red and white dotted stripe is worn away on one side and appears to be tarnished silver enamel. Both sides are decorated with metal accents plates that have a flower and zig-zag pattern outline. Super cute! The shell is in excellent condition with great iridescent ivory color. This looks as though it has never been used. The shell is a nice ivory color but has tints of pink and green. As with anything made from natural items there will be natural differences in texture and color. This adds to their unique quality and beauty. The"bottle" is very clean inside and out.
