Mid 19th C French Ruby Red Palais Royal Perfume Casket With Bronze Ormolu Mounts
You are bidding on an exquisite Palais Royal French ruby red perfume box or casket with the original square form perfume bottles. The casket has beautiful gilt bronze ormolu mounts& the perfume bottles have ground glass stoppers as well as gilt bronze lidded caps. The bottles sit in a gilt twisted wire frame basket which keeps the bottles suspended in the casket. The box appears to be complete with its original key& swivel handles. The square form casket is made of a very heavy ruby glass& the perfume bottles look to be hand blown with ground pontil bases. The quality& thickness of the glass indicates that this might be a Baccarat casket& we believe it dates to the mid 1800's. The casket is not marked in any way but early Baccarat was only marked with a paper label& the company relied on the quality of their products ... moreto speak for itself& thus did not need any identifying marks. The casket measures about 4 1/2" x 2 7/8" stands about 4 5/8" tall. The condition is very good. There are some small air bubble inclusions in the glass& a small imperfection on the front of the lid where one of these bubbles has been ground through. The gold gilding has worn through on the more exposed parts of the ormolu but the internal gilding is in very fine condition. The glass stopper of one of the perfume bottles is stuck with residue from whatever perfume was left in the bottle. Although the key does turn, the internal iron mechanism of the lock no longer secures the lid. There are also some minor surface scratches to the casket with the worst ones on the base. ANTIQUE FRENCH CUT CRYSTAL PERFUME/SCENT BOTTLE IN GILDED CASKET
Here I have a gorgeous antique French perfume casket. The set includes four cut crystal bottles with faceted stoppers. The bottles rest in a gilded casket with a flower swag design. The cut bottles are are 1 3/4 inch square and just under 4 1/2 inches tall to top of faceted stopper. The casket base is aprox 4.25 inch square. For those of you who collect these caskets you must realize this is a large example. I would say this set is in very nice antique condition. One stopper is frozen in place and I would just leave it that way as you do not want to crack the neck off. I cleaned 3 of the bottles with the free stoppers and they display well with mild residue. The forth bottle with the frozen stopper has more and this can be seen in the photos. Some small edge nicks& stopper tip nicks. As you can see this is a very nice set and displays ... morevery well. It has a weight of almost 2 pounds as the bottles are solid cut crystal. I will wrap each bottle for safe shipment. Package will be shipped out via Fedex Ground with tracking. The latch is marked, Patent Aug 13, 1878. Contains three glass bottles that have a matching etched pattern. This perfume box has seen better days. The leather covering is pealing up in places and is missing around the top. One rear leg is missing the ball foot, the beveled glass window has a chip, and each of the three bottles have chips too(1st- large chip on rim and looks like other chip ground/polished out. 2nd- chips on the points of the shoulder. 3rd- small chip on the shoulder. It could still find a good home in someone's collection.

An antique probably early 1900's French carved wooden. Locking perfume casket with 3 original gilt trimmed crystal perfume bottles. The brass mounted box shows"Odeurs Paris" on the top. The box measures 4 1/4" x 3" x 3 3/4" height. It is in very nice condition with no cracks or chips in the carving. The blue silk lined interior is relatively clean and free rips, stains or odors. The locking function works as long as the lid is held down firmly when locking or unlocking. Each of the gilt trimmed crystal bottles is 1 3/4" height to top of stopper. They are all clean and free of chips or residue. Some minor gold losses. Each bottle fits in its own separate compartment inside the box. Nice item for any dressing table or vanity. 1st and foremost 20 yrs and never seen a 5 piece ormolu set let alone a jeweled set. Has a bird motif and all 5 pieces are perfectly matched and the rare frame measuring 14" high and the casket 6" across and the tray 28" across and the bottles 8" across, now condition- frame the backing was replaced with newer picture stand so it stands up, in transport 1 bird on corner of tray broke off but a tig of sodder and it is right back on and to be true it is'nt even noticable but we do have the piece, the bottles are missing glass stem and we have a clear piece of glass that fits bottom of bottle but needs a shave with sand paper to fit and glue into top easy fix but all in all this is very rare just google and see yourself 5 pieces do not exist often. thanks sharon

Antique 19th c. Perfume Bottle Casket Beveled Glass Silk Lined Tooled Leather
Wonderful 19th c. beveled glass/tooled leather perfume casket with silk lining and two bottles. In wonderful condition for age. Fading of silk(I would describe the color of the silk as a seafoam green, may have been closer to a turquoise originally) As one would expect there is some loss and flaking of tooled leather, wear around the leather that attaches the lid to base. The glass is great.no issues. Top hinge is wonderful. The glass bottles have no chips, cracks etc.the ground stoppers are very good with light normal roughness around the bottoms. Measures in total approx. 6" tall x 5 3/4" across x 3 3/4" wide.

Great Perfume Casket W/Original Bottles & Key Egytian Motif. Lacquer Enameled
A most rare and desirable perfume set. The box is in an Egyptian motif with eight enameled brass corners and an enameled key estuations plus the large brass piece with the pharaoh on the top. Retains its original key. Inside are two perfume bottles both bottles are in mint condition. They are numbered and have corresponding numbers on the stoppers. The bottles have gold painted stars on the shoulders and gold on the rim and stopper rim. Both stoppers have some damage. One has a chip on the dauber the other has had the dauber broken off and glued. Neither one shows when the stoppers are installed. The box interior is a beautiful gold and beige velvet and in excellent condition. The box measures 6 inches by about 3 1/4 inches front to back and it stands about 4 inches tall.

NR OPALINE PALAIS ROYALE FRENCH PERFUME SCENT BOTTLE CASKET PORCELAIN PORTRAITS
You are bidding on a very beautiful green French opaline scent/perfume bottle with four different porcelain portraits. I am not an expert in this field. But from what I have seen, this appears to be from the Palais Royale era, mid 1800's, and sold as one of the many souvenirs. I have seen similar ormolu scent bottles with various scenes of Paris's architectural highlights such as the Place Vendome, Arc de Triomphe, Louvre, etc. though very few with portraits. Dimensions are 7" high to the top of the finial and just slightly under 4" in diameter at the bulbous widest point. In excellent display condition, there is some verdigris and darkening of the ormolu that has blackened and consistent with its age. A warm patination overall covers the ormolu and has burnished it to a deep rich gold. One of the portraits of the young ... moremaiden has a slight bend in the cartouche(picture 8) that I note for accuracy. I also noticed within the open mouth of the bottle, there is a crease that I can't tell if it is a crease or a hairline from in-the-making, which I have shown in photo 9. No chips or repairs. The four portraits on the bottle are gorgeous. One cherubic child in prayer. That could definitely pass as a putti if you added wings, the second, a darling choir boy in purple cloak and white collared blouse, a little girl with hands clasped to her chest and revered expression. The fourth portrait is a young maiden reading her letter she has just penned. The colors are vibrant and clear and appears to be on porcelain that is hard and shiny. The intricate design of the metal ormolu is like lace on the bottle. The base, has a sturdy beading connecting the four feet that are delicately scrolled. The clear apple green of the opaline is so pretty that you want to bite into it like a green apple. You know this is an early piece because you can see the pontil on its base. picture 14) The piece de resistance however. Is the oriental magistrate, who is smoking a hookah, as a finial, with scalloped beading on its rim.

Large antique French white opaline glass& gilt ormolu'egg' shaped casket. A unique perfume or cologne bottle piece in excellent condition. Gilt ormolu framework. The interior is the perfume vial, flask, flacon or bottle rather than just having a perfume bottle resting inside. The bottom half of the egg creates the bottle, hinged gilt cap and all. The casket's hinge and clasp are working. Study the stopper and the interior. Everything is there and opaline glass is rare. Beautiful Antique Victorian Perfume Scent Bottle Tantalus Dresser Casket Box
Before the times of fast cars and planes Was the Victorian Era of Carriages and Trains Up for auction is this dainty Victorian perfume tantalus fit for a queen. A traveling perfume tantalus for those long and hard trips back then. Felt liner over wood. Beveled crystal see through windows on both sides, and amazing brass cartouches on all four corners. In the center of each brass cartouche is a portrait of Queen Victoria herself. The clasp on top unlocks the case to reveal the inner compartment. There are three holes around the velvet inner liner to hold three perfume or scent bottles. I still have the three original bottles. These bottles have no damage nor does the cut glass stoppers have any damages. The bottles came from B.D Baldwin& Co. from Chicago IL in the 2nd half of the 1800's. There is Plum Blossom, Queen Bess, and Violets. ... moreAll bottles have the original labels. The Tantalus measures 6 1/2" long, 3 1/2" wide, and 5" tall. The outside cloth liner shows its age. There are a couple small areas missing the liner. The liner on the one side has a small tear near the bottom. The inside velvet is frayed and worn. The beveled glass is perfect though, along with the metalwork corners and clasps. The tantalus has a wire handle that is braided. This piece is quite the find. Antique blue cut glass baccarat moser enamel Victorian Perfume Casket
Here is a beautiful Victorian casket holding two blue cut glass bottles which look to be moser or baccarat with a polished base on the glass and heavy enamel hand painted flowers. the glass is in great condition. Its the casket that has seen better days. It has damage and is loose in spots but could be restored and painted again to look wonderful. Or do like I would do and leave it alone and admire it for what it has been through in the 130 years it has been around. The casket measures 5 inches tall and 4.5 tall. It opens outward on two sliding and there is a clasp on top by handle. Be careful handling it when you get it but enjoy it as it is solid enough to handle gently.
