Stunning Antique English Cut Crystal & Sterling Silver Perfume Bottle / Flask
A wonderfully tactile scent flask. With it's deeply cut crystal in a series of star cuts within a diamond shaped lozenge. The glass is a beautiful Emerald green fading to clear at the bottom of the flask. The screw-top lid is decorated with repousse work crowned with a circular cartouche which could be engraved by your silversmith if you wished to personalize. The interior is cork filled to avoid evaporation of the precious contents. The silver is of course hallmarked for Birmingham 1899, Victorian in era. The makers initials CM are present for the silversmith, Charles May. Excellent condition, measuring 4 1/4" x 3" x 1" at widest. Up for auction is this lovely etched crystal mini perfume bottle with a sterling silver cap. It has the stopper and some sort of cotton in the top. The hinge is in excellent condition. It is 2 3/4" high(with the top) and approximately 3/4" in diameter. It also has a little hook/attachment which is right under the hinge. The bottle is in very good condition. The stopper fits snugly Marked Sterling 925 Fine with a hall mark. I do not know the hallmark. Winning bidder to pay $4.50 for shipping. The bottle has no cracks or chips and has ornate detail top to bottom. It stands 6 1/4" tall and the stopper itself is 1 3/4" long by itself. The stopper has patina from age that I did NOT remove or polish to leave it for the buyer to do as they wish. This is a set of antique. 999, sterling silver overlay, art nouveau, perfume bottles. To our knowledge. They are Alvin Sterling Silver with the low numbers of 3104, fine. We're assuming they are rare. The Alvin Manufacturing Company was founded in 1886 by William H. Jamo uneau in Irvington. New Jersey. The company moved to Sag Harbor. Long Island in 1895 and later changed its name to the Alvin Silver Co. in 1919. The Alvin Silver Manufacturing Company was known for making fine sterling silver. The Gorham company of Providence. Rhode Island acquired the Alvin Company’s dies and patterns in 1928. The largest measures 4" tall and 3 1/2" in diameter with original stopper. The second to largest one that's very wide and flat measures approximately 3 1/4" x 2 1/2" diameter with original stopper. The stopper is the one ... morethat's chipped. The top says"GB" in script. Description For your consideration today is this beautiful late Victorian perfume bottle made by William Comyns. This bottle is cut crystal and has a gorgeous repousse sterling silver hinged top featuring a pair of doves. It is hallmarked around the neck of the bottle with William Comyns stamp. The Silver Standard Mark, the London, England City Mark, the Date Letter of 1889. And the Duty Mark of Queen Victoria the I. The bottle is 5 1/4" tall and 4" across. There is a small push button on the front which keeps the bottle securely closed. There is no inner stop. There is a bit of staining on the inside of the bottle and it still has a beautiful lingering scent of the last perfume kept inside it. The bottle has a hobnail cut crystal body. Walton From a Connecticut Estate Auction comes this Gorgeous 1896 HINGED RÉPOUSSÉ STERLING SILVER& TURQUOISE CAP CUT CRYSTAL SCENT or SMELLING SALTS PERFUME BOTTLE. This diminutive bottle stands 2 7/8” tall on a 7/8” diameter base. As shown. The hinged lid is incredible with floral, fern and foliate decoration as well as inset stones which I believe are turquoise. It is hallmarked for 1896 Birmingham, England and the maker's mark, while indistinct is probably that of George Edwin Walton. The clear glass tube is deeply cut with a star and cross-hatch design. Snap the lid up and the tiniest glass stopper I've ever seen is revealed.1/8” in diameter and about 3/4” long. Especially ... moreconsidering it is almost 120 years old. This is in excellent used condition. The hinged lid works fine and the top closes securely and I don't see any other issues with the top. Six Antique Crystal Cut Glass Perfume Scent Bottle Sterling Silver Top Hinged Up for your consideration we have 6 beautiful glass or cut crystal perfume or scent bottles. 5 with hinged tops and one with a screw on top that has an attached glass dipping stick, visible in photo 7. The photos below will be doing most of the explaining for these pieces as they are photos of the exact pieces you will receive. All in all, none of the crystal bodies have any major damage, just a very few fleabites on the bottle with a ball top. I have included photos of all mouths of the bottles to show the condition of the stoppers, if any. I will list the condition of the stoppers by the bottles photo numbers. The bottle in photo 5 has a stopper that is in good condition with a small fleck on it. The bottle in photo 6 has a stopper with two chips and it will not ... morecome loose. The bottle in photo 9 does not have a stopper and the bottle in photo 10 had a stopper that apprently came stuck and then broke off, leaving the bottom part of the stopper still stuck at the mouth of the bottle. The silver is marked“sterling” and has a maker’s mark(as shown in the last photo) But I am unable to make it out. The bottle is in excellent vintage condition. But does need an atomizer bulb; these can be found on the internet. There are no dents in the silver. Or cracks or chips in the glass tube or the crystal base. Also. Sterling Topped Cut Crystal Perfume Bottle Engraved "Eileen" (Birmingham, 1926)
This beautiful little panel cut perfume bottle has a sterling lid with hallmarks that have it being made in Birmingham in 1926. I can't quite make out the maker's mark. The lid is embossed with bound reeded edge and is engraved with the name Eileen(The inscription looks mid 20th c. The panel cut crystal body of the piece is in great shape with a little residue left inside the bottle. The lid has been bumped a few times four noticeable dents in it and few minor ones. The lid has also been somewhat distorted so that one side is higher than the other(see photos) The bottle does not appear to have ever had a ground glass stopper but may have had a cork. Finished by a deeply cut 16-point starburst to the base. Mounted with a sterling silver threaded collar and screw on lid that opensto reveal a cut glass stopper beneath. Topped by an elegant and stylish engraved monogram of initials FL encircled by a blue guilloche enamel border. Measures 4 1/2" in height. 2 1/2" x 1 3/4" at the base. Bearing marks of the French Minerve 1st hallmark used in Paris since 1838. Which depicts the head of the goddess Minerva with a number 1 beside her to denote a silver content of.950/1000. That's 95% pure silver and a higher grade of finesse than the standard.925 sterling. This is a very nice. Very beautiful Antique Cut Crystal Glass, Hallmarked Silver, Hinged upper Top, personal Perfume Bottle with Original stopper. The upper Hinged Top has excellent Floral detailed Repousse work. On the Top are beautiful Scrolling Initials, it looks like M K J C, very nicely done, it almost looks like a design. The top is Hallmarked CM, ANCHOR, L, then a LION, so this is at the least, Sterling Silver. The upper is thick and heavy with a strong hinge. Perfume scent bottle has four crosshatched pinwheel floral circles with a thumbprint center. The floral pinwheels are surrounded by cut eight and four point stars with the bottom having a cut starburst. The perfume bottle and stopper have no cracks. Glass has some surface use wear marks. There are small pinpoint dings to the edges of some of the cut crystal ridges. One of the central circles of the pinwheel flowers has a less than 1/8" chip on the circle's edge. Antique 1904 Sheffield Cut Crystal Sterling Silver .925 Scent Perfume Bottle
This beautiful antique cut crystal and sterling silver.925 perfume bottle was made in Sheffield. England, in 1904, by brothers John and William Deakin. The gorgeous repousse lid is detailed with scrolls and flowers and a center shield. Which is un-monogrammed. The hallmark, showing JD over WD, Sheffield, 925, and 1904, is on the collar of the lid. It is in excellent antique condition. With very minor wear, considering its age. Details: The exterior cut glass has no damage, chips or cracks that I see. Very minor shelf wear on the bottom. The silver collar inside the bottle has a small dent, visible in the photos, and only seen when the sterling top is off. The inside edge of the bottle has a thumbnail size hairline crack, which is stable(see photos) The multi-faceted stopper has one fleabite chip on a facet, and a couple of fleabites on the ... moretop and bottom edges, commensurate with use. The repousse part of the sterling lid is almost flawless. With no dents or damage seen. There are a few pin-prick size dents on the collar of the lid. Only noticeable upon close inspection. It measures approximately 3 1/4" tall and 3 3/4" across and is in fair condition overall. There are many small chips and nips along edges most notably along the top edge. There are also a few chips inside the glass neck that aren't visible when the top is on. However. The bottle has nice cross-hatch and button cuttings on the crystal body. The bottle is embellished with a sterling silver flip-up lid with fancy engraved monogram"DAP" in center. The top is marked with unknown maker's stamp"CM" with English hallmarks for"Sterling" Measures 2 3/4" high and 1 1/4" in diameter. The bottle is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks although there is some minor old perfume residue on the interior of the glass(mainly at the bottom) which we have not tried to clean. The silver cap has a couple of tiny dings on outside edge(see photos) No other noted flaws. Around the top and the bottle sleeve are several sterling silver hallmarks for London. Early 1900's. lion, uncrowned leopard, h" There are additional marks such as"W& but because it is hard to read these letters, I was unable to determine the maker. Bottle measures 5" tall with top on. Item Description While starting bids may vary I ALWAYS POST WITH NO RESERVE! More photos to come… Up for auction is a Sterling Silver and Cut Crystal Perfume Bottle Chatelaine with Jeweled Lid. The sterling lid has a couple tiny dents which I tried to pick up in the photos for you. Due to the dent the lid is ever so slightly pushed down toward the front of the lid. The hinge is intact but the lid only opens as far as you see it in the photos. The lid also has some give side to side but when it is lined up with the collar it snaps shut fairly tight. I think some of this may movement to the lid/hinge is likely due to whatever happened to it when it took the dent( There is a red jewel on top set into the repousse design. There is a little loop on the back of the lid to attach a chain for a chatelaine. The lid is stamped"sterling" in ... morethe front and I tried to get a photo of this for you. The bottle is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips that I can find. The little funnel is silver tone metal but I am not certain if it is sterling silver or not. However. This perfume bottle is made of finely cut crystal with a sterling silver top by Synyer& Beddoes which was a Birmingham. England based firm. Based on the marks, this piece dates to the early 20th century. The silver has a raised floral decoration on the top.
